  • well super shot...

  • @Scrapandjunk Thanks!

  • Speed star.............

  • @aaryan669 Yes indeed! Thanks!

  • Full Speed... really Nice

  • @vinodhvinu1 Thanks Vinodh!

  • Thanks Pavan! Also noteworthy is the contrast; state-of-the art diesel loco in semaphore territory.

  • @TheAshoku Yes sir, very much indeed! Good observation :-)

  • Sooper video saar!, wish premier SFs also had dippie4s instead of electrics.

  • @TheAshoku Thank you Ashoku. We need more of your tribe in this country!

  • I only see the semaphore signals. How come I don't see any Tokens for the single line track?

  • @POON3345 Tokens were removed a long time back on this section. It was all block section section from a long time back. This section is under MACL now.

  • @pawan1082 Ok I see that. Thank you.

  • Listen to the sound of this beast from 0:13 to 0:18.......... Crazy machine!!!

  • @amitshusap Thank you so much for the comment!

  • like that SirenNNNNNN

  • @yukthi97 Thanks :-)

  • Can't help watching this video over and over again..:D

  • @dheerajrao Me too.

  • @dheerajrao Lol, the same with me. I dont know how many times Ii have watched it here on YT, though I have the original with me :-P LMAO!

  • @pawan1082 Same case here too. I just can't help watching some videos over and over again, that too on YT only! Original files in my comp are completely ignored :D

  • @dheerajrao - same here , though I'm more of an ALCO fan...

  • this is one of the best WDP4 videos I have seen ! commendable performance by the beast on the steep gradient and awesome honking !

  • @avinashi07 Thank you so much Avinashi! This is the greatest monster of all diesels!

  • @avinashi07 Yes indeed Avinashi! Thank you so much for your comment!

  • @avinashi07 I have always wondered why the driver and often someone on the platform show each other flags, esp green ones.Does this mean the train driver is saying everything is OK?

  • @zorin40 - yes it means all clear- the train can blast through at full speed

  • Have a question for Indian Railway buffs. Why is the train passing a signal that shows 'STOP' (right at the beginning of the video). Isn't the semaphore signal horizontal position means 'stop'

  • @nrajan001 The semaphore at horizontal position with the red bar facing towards the camera are for the train going in the opposite direction. Here in our case the signals obviously indicate danger for our waiting Janshatabdi. The incoming Siddaganga Express, if you see the video carefully has already crossed the semaphore which allows it entry into Ramgiri. The semaphore aspect has changed to danger after the train has crossed it, which is the case with color lamp signals as well, green to red.

  • @pawan1082 Pavan - Thanks for the explanation. Now I understand. Diesel Locos are very nostalgic for me because I lived in DLW, Varanasi for 10 years where my father was Dy.COS. We kids rode the first WDM-2 built in a joy ride back in 1964 (if I remember right)

  • Yes, and more over it was on a gradient as we can see the bend at the beginning of the video. I am wondering why the LCs complain about the WDP4 in gradients. Is it really that bad but according to this video it is awesome.

  • @jasechiu It is not as bad as it is made out to be. Yes, this loco was made for 16-17 coaches and meant to be run as multiple units. But if we run with 24 coaches and single unit, what can be done. Also the DP4 does not have 6powered axles like the WDG4, only 4. Hence tractive effort is less and struggle on steep gradient is inevitable. This should go with the launch of WDP-4B.

  • @pawan1082

But I see 3 sets of wheels unlike the WAP5.

  • @jasechiu Only 4 out of 6 axles have traction motors, like WAP-5s.

  • @jasechiu Sorry for interrupting :P there are three axles, of course, but traction motors are present only on four of them. So the number of powered axles is four. WDG4 has traction motors on all axles :)

  • @dheerajrao I've never heard of a WAP5 struggling on gradients, though it also has four powered axles. Maybe it is because of its 'very high' HP. It was also designed to haul 18-20 coaches upto 160kph. Even then, its performance on gradients is better than that of a WAP4. It is the only loco of IR, which has three gears. WAP5s are really very strange. It does very well with 24 coaches also. For example: Paschim Express, Bihar Sampark Kranti.

  • @rainbow30000 Not only the 'high' horsepower, the WAP5 has just four axles, all of them being powered. It also weighs much lesser than the diesel locos and WAP4s because of its lesser length. Also, one can't compare the power generation and delivery of a diesel loco with an electric loco. The WDP4 struggles only while accelerating on inclines, not while already travelling at a considerable speed. Same case might be with a WAP5, but I can't comment on that because I haven't met a WAP5 yet :D

  • I wish we moved beyond the 100kph wonders. I would love to see the day when trains travelled at 200-250kph on Indian tracks. That would be revolutionary! Long live IR!

  • May I suggest you brace your camera against an upright of the nice yellow sign towards the end of the platform? This will assist with providing very stable images much as a tripod.

  • @rohith19850821 Thank you very much Rohith. And you are very right, two ears are just not enough to hear the melody of the WDP-4 horn...

  • Our siddaganga express travels at 100kmph in a single line section how much will it go once doubling is completed.

  • @Shreejai100 It might go at 150! what say? ;-)

  • i just scare when you turned camera?

    wow!! good superb!!!!!!

  • @akshpatilgmailcom Thank you very much Akshpatil..

  • You have made SWR proud with this video

  • The speed of this train has to be around 100 kmph.

  • @daredevil30000 Yes, that is the MPS of this section!

  • Looks like the loco is flying - given both were fluttering their flags :)

  • @saravin2 Thanks Ara!

  • Amazing video! Fabulous audio and video!

  • @saravin2 Thank you very, very much!

  • very good dude. wdp4 is always the best, but the best part is your location and video is very clear good.keep it up.

  • @saurabh2860 Thank you very much Saurabh.

  • awesome video...keep it up man

  • Thanks a ton!

  • Fantastic video

  • Thanks Ujjawal!

  • Holy Fuck

  • @indianrailways :) Thank you

  • this is simply fantastic......iam speechless.....undoubtedly this beast's power is unmatched.....another spectacular capture

  • @din00o Thanks so much Din00o. Its comments like yours that inspires me to take more videos. Yes there is nothing to match the DP4!

  • great capture pawan. One of the best videos of WDP-4 screaming and running at full speed.

  • @bodiramdev Thank you very much Bodi!

  • Indian government must give you award for capturing this video!

Greatest Diesel loco in the world possibly

  • @sonofthedestroyer Thank you very much. I am humbled. And very possible indeed.

  • Long live the Monster!!!The Almighty beast tearing the tracks!!

    Amazing video!!

    Siddhaganga always rocks!!

  • @trainshir Yes very much! Long live the king DP4. No one can ever come anywhere near to what this beast is capable. Thanks for the comment.

  • @mindwalk991 - 3D is no match for WDP4 anyday! - GTL shed locos fail very often and and a very

good example is Haripriya Exp that always gets a GTL loco.

  • This video and the mind-blowing performance by the WDP4 has SILENCED the critics FOREVER !!!

I witnessed this MPS action and was awe-struck!.

  • @wdp41 Yes, we are lucky to witness this and capture it was well. Truly mindblowing!

  • this is a 20 coacher, I recently travelled on a 22 coacher with a GTL WDM3D. Performance was better than WDP4 with 23 coacher on a similar undualting gradient. Super Vid anyways.

  • Superb catch!! and #13054 magically keeps showing up wherever I go, even in videos! :D Hav personally met 4 times already, n ur video makes it 5! :D

  • @dheerajrao Haha cool. Thanks!

  • Wow!!!! No words to describe the monster. superb capture!!

  • @atherayas Yes sir. No words, especially this beast with the ICE is something else alltogether.

  • @sammy2951 Yeah Sammy! This is the best this beast can get!

  • WDP-4 showing its full diesel power!!!

  • @rajeesidh Yes sir! Full 4000 hp raw power on display!

  • Awesome horn. That was some furious action!!!!

  • @mansees Thanks! Yeah furious action indeed!

  • Awesome capture !!!

  • @TheIndianRailways Thanks man!
