  • hey you, chris broderick loves you

  • 1:12 - immense lick! so much cool little stuff like that crammed in there that you don't notice at first.

  • i fucks wit it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • killer feel .. yes

  • absolutely loved the ending part, what a piece!

  • greg howe is just super inspirational and the man

  • Wich is the name of the song playing at the beginning? (perd+on por el ingles!)

  • @revollo13 Its the outro of "No place like home" off the album Introspection

  • Such an awesome guitar player...his playing is chocked full of color and tone...def. one of the greats!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @spcell1 The full tablature for the "Introspection" album, which includes "Come and Get It', is available for purchase at the Official Greg Howe Store.

  • Greg Howe, you are my idol. And I speak on behalf of every guitar player when I say, you are an inspiration. You are amazing.

  • Every guitar player..expert and novice...this is what the top of the heap is..period!

  • come and get it!

  • some amazing shredding here

  • The ending is so groovy

  • Man! The Cornford tone is amazing! Way better than your Mesa stuff, Greg. (In my opinion) I never realized what a clean and articulate player you were until I saw this video. Wow...

Do you teach personally on skype, or are they just pre-recorded lessons? I teach in various countries using skype, but its not like this. I do acoustic lessons mainly. U sound amaing, man!

  • @davidbrucemusicvideo - It's not the Cornford....it's Greg!

  • @totalcontrast

Actually, it IS the Cornford. I've heard him play on a Marshall and a Mesa here, and the Cornford tone just sounds better, in my opinion. But I know what ya mean when you say its Greg, for sure! :-)

  • great guitar sound ( tone)

  • 1337 likes. That is what I am talking about! ;)

  • If Howe and his guitar could procreate, this song would be their offspring.

  • I recommend Choi Woo Joon - Jang nan III

  • my face just melted off..

  • it's been over two years since i first watched this video and this is still some of the most impressive improvising i've ever seen

  • @Degslon exactly the same for me.

  • Comment removed

  • This guy is gonna help me outta my rut, with some luck and a lot of practice...

  • This song is so fuckin cool!!!!!!!!!!!!! B-)!!

  • 40 guitarist must be jealous

  • The bit at 0:48 gives me shivers...

  • @inefficient very melodic! i could listen to that part all day

  • what the fuck is wrong... with the people who disliked this video?? i consider myself a metal based guitarist, and normally wouldnt give it my time but sweet jams like this are music for the soul...

  • @0willmaestro0 couldn't agree more with that mate (:

  • Its a pity he isn't as famous as those idiotic Bieber Rihanna Timberlake Madonna blah blah blah & other wannabees

  • @RahulSynysterGates True, but with all the stupid people in the world, there needs to be stupid music for them. For us, we have Greg Howe. :)

  • Obviously Greg Howe is a phenomenal guitar player but I also want to give him props for having good backing tracks that aren't just a simple loop.

  • @Redprojectstudios That's one of the things separating GH from most players out there. His whythm playing on his albums is very very interesting as well. Even without the awesome soloing they'd be cool to listen to. But the guy is just awesome. I always stand in awe when he's playing!

  • Greg Howe, Tosin Abasai, and SRV. perfect disicples and reincarnations of the late Jimi Hendrix :p dont flame the comment unless ur gonna spread the fire ;)

  • 40 people have puny biceps

  • 40 people own Lady Gaga albums.

  • Parece que de 0:49 ou 0:50 segundos rolou uma edição...

  • Parece que nos 0:50 segundos rolou uma edição...

  • chris broderick likes this guy. woudn't have heard of him if it wasn't for a chris interview i heard.

  • NICE!!!

  • 1:47-1:51, and that tap at 2:11, very original sounding, this guy is great

  • thats so good!

  • 2:08 Head -> Exploded!!

  • The 40 Dislikes probably exspected Greg to be a Shredder like Yngwie Malmsteen

or Rustey Cooley or Michelangelo Batio

  • @musicisthebestF lol some people prefer guitar to be that easy to play like back in the 80s where porn was still hairy.

  • @eddieisfiction

    Well that an interessting comparison

i guess i have to accept that some people like Punk and Thrash Metal and Hair Metal like Bon Jovi and Poison more then Jazz Fusion

  • @musicisthebestF haha some do.

  • @musicisthebestF Personally, I love thrash and jazz fusion. Why limit yourself, right? You don't have to agree with me, it's just an opinion. Cheers.

  • @NailsForDinner

Thats O. K. i also listen to Dream Theater, Symphony X, Racer X, Paul Gilbert, Angra, and Freak Kitchen

please check Freak Kitchen on youtube

AND at the same time i listen to Chad Wakerman and Allan Holdsworth, Hiromi Uehara, Chick Corea,

Tal Wilkenfeld, Wayne Krantz, Frank Zappa

  • @musicisthebestF Can't hurt to expose yourself, right? I'll have to check out some of those bands. Thanks.

  • any idea what modes he's in?

  • @BrickFrigid

    Modes. AHAHA

too me, it sounds like he is mixing mixolydian, some lydian and the suitable major.

  • Every time I watch this it takes me a few minutes to recover... stunning.

  • 2 words Guthrie Govan....nuff said

  • @cast390 Of course Guthrie is great......but if you take the entire body of work for both guitarists over the last 25 years....Greg has by FAR the most mind-blowing solos ever recorded.

  • it looks like 40 people hate the fact that greg is way better than they're ever gonna be....

  • Greg Howe

    "Cum and Fuck it"

  • @ugie88 hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha oh my god I'm laughing for about 30 minutes after I read your comment xD

  • Just perfection dp

  • this guy is just awesome!!

  • da la impresion que es lento de manos, pero no lo es xD

  • lol i love the square video format

  • This dude must practice while he's pooping to be this good

  • @bratwurstsalad I'm sure he did it once at least

  • Jesus ! The tones and sustain from the little progressive rock insert is NOTE PERFECT ! Brilliant Greg, just brilliant...G...

  • He must be related to Jimi....gotta be!!!

  • Dunno if you bother reading the comments here greg, but if you do, I´ve sorta followed your carreer from beeing a wannabe-shredder to a fullblown fusionmaster.. wow, what a trip! I`ve been playing for well over 25 years myself, even think I met you once at a NAMM-show when I was young, cocky , immortal and did´nt realize who you were. If I had, I´d have stolen your guitar haha ;) Anyway, keep up the good work, hope to hear new music from you many years to come, cheers mate!!

  • Awesome playing Greg. Peace, Bernie K.

  • The lick starting at 00:52 is incredible....

  • my taste has gone from hard rock to grunge , metal, technical metal, neoclassical metal, gypsie jazz, classical, and now this

  • Amazing trick and sound at 2:11 ! Greg Howe is so great !

  • Damn!

  • A genious...

  • Greg rocks on this song!

  • Holy Smokes, what a treat it was to catch you at MI with Billy Sheehan - is that video available ?? - it was the best live performance I've ever seen - Amazing !!!

  • Amazing!! simplemente genial =O

  • the greatest!!!!

  • I think Greg Howe is a filipino born in america, his face looks filipino and his signature guitar named LAGUNA which is the place in the philippines where its national hero born...

  • Comment removed

  • @jamesakira1 Hes black not filipino

  • @roxshredder444 He's from Chile.

  • @jamesakira1 tumpak ka parekoy! :D hahahaha! isa syang pinoy! :D hahahaha! :)

  • Incredible playing, you sir play on level with Paul Gilbert, Joe Satriani and John Petrucci, and that is something I do not say very lightly. Those slides, the vibrato, the clean runs through the scales... Simply amazing, I've never heard anything like that before.

Malmsteen may have the sweeps, but you've got everything else.

  • @IxMAKExUxGOxLOL he is over them...

  • When is your next solo album coming out dude!? You're so awesome have followed your solo carreer for 8 years now. Much love

  • I love it

  • fuck me , that was sex

  • anyone know how to geta hold of this backing track????

  • @vai831 Buy it from his site.

  • One of the best improvisers ever, along with guthrie govan, but greg howe is the king of tasteful slide vibrato!

  • i love how he plays jazz and fusion, not metal or something else.

  • @uthink2much He actually did play metal for 2 albums. He did a tremendous job at that as well! Frightening how good he is..

  • @uthink2much I would call it Fusion Shred.

  • this is very first time i hear Greg Howe, why cant i hate him ?

thanks to my friend who told me about this guy.

    fucking briliant.

  • Qu'est-ce que c'est bon !

  • the most intense power melodic piece of craftsmanship from an elite of all elite musicians to have ever existed..every note was just meant to exist on this planet you call earth.....chur bro

  • maaaaaan this guy is awesome!!!!!!!

  • haha 38 dislikes............

  • 38 people disliked his lack of groove. at least I did.

  • Stop with the "34 people are deaf, 34 Bieber fans disliked this video" bullshit, and just accept that not everyone has the same musical taste as you. Grow up.

On a side note, this was beastly.

  • ONe of the baddest guitarist on here!!! Cant believe i just heard of him today!!!

  • this guy is just amazing , i just keep listening this again and again. His style is so unique with a nice jazzy tone.I love it!

  • He is a good guitarist. I just don't like his style as much as everybody else

  • And thát people, is how you play guitar! (if you're superhuman).

  • @dennoow Yep, definitely superhuman ! ;-)

  • Greg, please get in contact with Guthrie Govan, Steve Morse and Scott Henderson for a fusion jam tour, for a new, better G4, say, GSGS, with Dave La Rue and Victor Wooten on basses, and Steve Smith, Mark Mondesir and Dennis Chambers on drums.

  • Friggin' amazing. I've been a fan ever since Edge of Insanity. :)

If you give lessons, I'm in.

    Yo!

  • @YoBroMan i think you're confusing him with Tony Macalpine. wtf

  • @killmysister That's a really bad mistake on my part, not sure what I was thinking. Sorry. Howe's first album was in 87/88 on Shrapnel and contained The Pepper Shake.

    Yo!

  • You have rendered me speechless....

  • @jae4847 again...i have turned some really special talent on to this video and they all say the same thing....they can't stop watching it....if you play guitar, then you know why.

  • Man Your Fucking Amazing Thanks For Playing The Guitar.

  • I am not in love with his tone but G.Howe is a technical beast on a guitar. He has skills for days and could easily be one of the top improvisors of our time. Those dislikes are probably people not loving his style but they know he's way above average.

  • Awesome!

  • i broke the like button....

  • To think he could do all this..... and think that alternate picking was too difficult to learn. I am flabbergasted at his talent.

  • GILAAAA....!!!

  • this is just so fcking amazing, love his style!! btw! Got my guitar signed by him! :D

  • This is probably the most intense solo have ever heard and i have heard them all!!!!WTFAYT....i have a hard time even seeing it all happen it's amazing Greg.... ..Fucking Amazing

  • Comment removed

  • 2:03 IM SORRY... No way could a human being be that clinical... that is fReAkY...

  • Wow! Just great!ツBella

  • All things considered, this guy is great.

  • Greg's got such a good rhythm feel on all of his solos, you can really learn a lot from him as a guitarist!

  • "Come and get it" INDEED! You can't help but come and get it because Greg Howe delivers it right to ya. Take notice guitarists. This is what we strive for with our practice hours.

  • never seen anyone's left hand flow that smoothly since Hendrix

  • @RoryGallaghertilidie actually, hendrix was a lefty and played with his right hand on the fingerboard

  • @gaurinn29 I realised that mistake the other day...the whole thing about him buying a right-handed guitar and playing it upside down because he couldn't afford a left-handed model

  • it is not about his shred, not about his tone, its about that he combines all his shit and makes real music with it,

    Greg Howe come to Colombia!

  • did annyone notice that his hands time warp at the beggining of the video

  • @enematrocoya yes he must have created... some.... kind.... of quantum singularity with in his left making it possible for him to warp to wherever he wants on the fretboard bending time and space as we know it... hmmm very interesting... I will have to tell the others right away!!! - 'to the amazement of his work colleagues jamoxesox throws everything on his desk and runs out of the office faster than the wind'

  • they wanted to make a greg howe guitar hero game, but they couldnt fit enough buttons on the controller

  • Which amp is using in this video?

  • GEEZ this is some insane guitar work. This cat kills most of the guys making millions and it's a shame that he is with Laguna? GIBSON,IBANEZ,ESP,FENDER you guys have to pull your heads out of your asses and pick this guy up. Is it RACIAL or WHAT?

  • @Striated he was signed to esp for ages, before laguna.

  • @drbulbus

But what gives? This guy is purely insane but is getting no play. The dude played with M.J. for Christ sakes.

He should be in Guitar Hero and Rock Band and signed with a company that's on the radar when it comes to consumers. Laguna is not a name that comes to me or anyone else when you think of guitars.

  • Comment removed

  • @Striated Laguna make good guitars, your just not paying for a G or an F on the headstock. They also plant one tree per guitar built, which I thinks rather cool. Plus he's got his own signature model. You have to be someone like Slash to get your own Gibson sig model. Companies like these sell mainstream guitars to mainstream artists and mainstream fans. People have to start realising their not getting quality with a brand name, your just paying for their mass marketing campaign. play laguna.

  • @drbulbus perfectly put. i think there one guitar one tree thing is really cool too.

  • @Striated Actually Greg was sponsored by Fender years ago. Back in the late 80's when he first came out and I first heard of him, he was endorsing HM Strats. Dont' worry about Greg, he's finally getting the recognition he deserves...the internet helps!

  • awesome playing!!! jaw breaking....pure talent.. long live greg howe!!

  • how can people not like this 36 dislikes i just want to slap them and yell to them FLAVORRRRR! SPEED TIMMING PERFECTIONNNN!!! VARIETY !! then slap them again

  • Greg Howe, man! Always blowing my mind! I love it!

  • Comment removed

  • HOW CAN HE SIT STILL WHILE PLAYING THIS?! I WOULD BE ALL OVER THE PLACE ITS JUST TOO MUCH SOUL!

  • fijacion

  • This is obscene

  • I like the way he sounds in this video more than the recording, I dunno, it just seems smoother to me. This is probably one of my favorite songs ever.

  • Anyone know which song that is that's playing when the video first starts? It sounds freakin' awesome.

  • @PhrAiLGuitarist Its the very end part of "No Place Like Home", from Greg's Introspection album.

  • How is it possible to see that there are still people who don't know Greg Howe.

  • So much passion, so much style, so much fun. I can't stop fucking listening! I came 4 times the first time I heard it, and it multiplies every other time I hear it.

  • Unbelievably good. This man has the perfect blend of technical know-how and soul. He is my new favorite virtuoso.

  • FACT-when Greg plays for women they pre-ejaculate!!! xD I love this dude!

  • Great tone, great feel!

I especially liked the delivery, very cool & laid back, made it look like it's as easy as playing the main riff to smoke on the water.

  • He plays like a motherfucker and he is HOT as hell:)

  • simply put, greg is the man!

  • Extremely tasty!

  • today I learnt that if I want to do the same slide vibrato, my hands must be clean...

  • Epic! An eternal masterpiece!

  • wat kind of pickups for an hss guitar wud get me a sound like greg howe i no that dimarzio makes gh pickups but those are only in his sig. laguna model any help would be great thanx

  • @cjrocker1 Hi. If your looking to get his early introspection(think he still uses it on some of the extraction album)

you'll want a fast track 2 in the bridge and a fast track 1 in the middle if you have an SSS type guitar but to be honest i have HSS type guitar and a fast track 1 in the middle works perfect for getting his sound i have vinnie moore signature shred head in the bridge and can can get some mixed strat tones for songs like pay as you go.

His modern sound uses a Breed and GH pup

  • what type of guitar is that

  • @MrRocker989 its greg howe's signature laguna guitar, though i've forgotten what its called (laguna something-924 i think). check it out on the laguna web page.

  • Greg Howe's "Introspection" album... best fucking album ever.

  • @ShinOnigashima I don't know man I mean Intro was a great album but man Greg's got so many I really like his first one and Uncertain Terms also Five was good so was Parallax. Five is a fantastic one too...Jesus come to think of it they're all freakin' badass! Ascend is a tour de force...His album with Vitalij High Definition is another neo-classical show of strength. When I bought Hyperacuity I was amazed. I got all Greg's shit!!!

  • This is just plain wicked!

  • when I play this song i have to use the 100 % of my Ki, but Greg looks like he's warming up.... I wonder if he trained in the Time Chamber or something.....
