There comes a limit to quantifying sociological components with innumerable variables. At the end of the day, were NOT French or Canadian. It is borderline unethical to make these societal assertions as if the mimicry of only ONE component of another nations portfolio is sufficient to improve the health or quality of life of Americans. I also love the French "plug" in the end. Canada has a smaller population than California. Yes, Canadians spend less, overall, on healthcare than Americans...

No we don't. They pay through the roof in taxes, just as Canada does. And just like CA, most of those countries' health care programs are horribly run.
America, WHY would you want the government running your life? Why would you want the government deciding for you if you should receive life-saving care or not? Where do we draw the line between being a U.S. citizen and being enslaved to the whims of a selfish group of elected officials?

And yet, oddly enough a LOT of canadians come across the border to U.S. doctors for care...If they're living longer up there its not because of the long waiting lists to get on waiting lists to get tests and see doctors. If anything, it's because they're using our health care system to receive care.
