@meccaturbo listen to how its running, it sounds like shit and it didnt even stay running. dont even get me started on how tecumsehs like to throw rods for no reason.
@pivotboy63 Sorry dude, but not all Tecumseh engines are bad. The earlier ones, in particular, are great engines. Anyone who says all engines by a particular manufacturer are bad engines needs to have their head examined.
@pivotboy63 And, you stupid fuck, the engine may have run out of gas. You don't have enough information on this engine to claim that it's a junker. You need a remedial class in Engine Mechanics 101, because clearly you don't know dick about small engines. You're a mofo.
@meccaturbo did I ever say ALL tecumsehs are shit? no I didnt. I said MOST not ALL. all of the ones I've encountered over the years have been shit. so thats were I base my opinion off, my experiences. I know TONS about small engines, fuck I own my own lawn mower repair company, with well over 100 happy customers. I'm sure there are some good running tecumsehs out there but all the ones ive ever seen have been shit.
@pivotboy63 You know what the common thread is with all the engines you've dicked around with? You are, so maybe it's you who's fucked up, not those Tecumseh engines. Dude, anyone can come on here and talk shit about how they have a lawnmower repair business...but the truth of the matter is that you are taking night classes at your local high school for Engine Maintenance 101.
@meccaturbo why are you so defensive about tecumseh engines? no, the truth of the matter is that I DO have a lawn mower repair business. look at some of my videos, mostly all of them are of mowers and other equipment ive worked on for other people. and if you dont think I know what im talking about, then you're fucked in the head. I dont need to take classes, hell I could probably TEACH one of those classes!
@pivotboy63 I'm tired of hearing people say they are junk...not all Tecumseh models are junk....most people who say they're junk don't know how to properly maintain a small engine. The late model LEV series sucks ass, but the earlier engines are extremely durable....I've worked on countless 3.5 through 5.0hp Tecumsehs and they seem to be the most durable of all. Briggs engines are extremely reliable, no doubt...but Tecumseh's get a bad rap when, by and large, they are good engines.
@meccaturbo did I not just say that not all tecumsehs are junk? I know exactly how to maintain an engine, on my mower I change the oil every 20 hours, change air filter every 3 months, and change the spark plug every 3 months as well
@pivotboy63 Further proof you need your Engine Maintenance 101 class....you don't need to change a small engine's spark plug every 3 months. Totally unnecessary.
@meccaturbo theres a key word there, "dont NEED to". what if I want to? what if i want to keep it running in top shape? thats just my personal preference. is it going to hurt the engine if I change the plug every 3 months? NO it wont. if anything it will run better.
@meccaturbo New plug = no carbon on the plug restricting spark. strong spark = more efficient running. more efficient running = better performance. so, new plug = better performance. you cant argue against facts.
@pivotboy63 If you were a real mechanic and knew how to tune your engines properly, you wouldn't have carbon on your plugs to begin with. They teach you that in Chapter 1 of your Engine Maintenance 101 class, you bozo.
@meccaturbo carbon builds up on plugs over time, no matter if its tuned properly or not. Yes, if its tuned properly there will be less carbon, but it will still be there. If you don't believe me, buy a new spark plug, put it in your mower or other small 4 stroke, and let it run for a while. then pull the plug out and I garuntee the plug wont be shiny silver it will be a dull black color. that is carbon.
@pivotboy63 Wrong again. With the proper heat range plug and an engine that does not run rich, no carbon builds up on a plug. Anyone who's studied engines knows that you go for a tannish brown insulator color on the spark plug. You dumb retard, obviously you know nothing about engines. You've probably been using Champion J8 or CJ8 plugs which are too cold....put a much hotter J19LM in your engine, and tune it properly and you won't have carbon issues. Man, you're an idiot.
@pivotboy63 Wrong again, pivotmonkey. Modern car engines that use platinum plugs don't have to have the plugs changed for over 100,000 miles....and why are they required to be changed? Because the platinum electrodes finally wear out, not because they get carboned up. Carbon is not a universal problem the way you claim. Learn something about engines, you dumbfuck. Put an RJ19LM in your small engine and I seriously doubt you'll have carbon problems, retard.
@pivotboy63 That's because you aren't a real mechanic and you don't know dick about small engines. Listen up, fucktard...get your ass down to your Engine Maintenance 101 class, you might learn something instead of being the stupid moron you are. Now go back to your mommy's basement and play with your toy lawnmowers, you fuck.
Piece of crap Tecumseh engines

@pivotboy63 Shut the fuck up, retard. Tecumseh made some fine engines, as well as some junkers.

Needs the carburetor cleaned. Don't let the gas sit in there for any longer than 30 days without fuel stabilizer.
