well, we will see what happens... I almost put it in the kiln today but wanted it to dry a bit more. I covered the entire piece with brown slip and then scored bands which show the white underneath.
It was fun to make even if it doesn't live. But, I'll keep you posted!

Did your pot fire okay? I assume that they have to be fired at different temps. what was your method?
fordsucks2 3 years ago
Yep.. it fired great. If you watch the video repsonse it shows the fired piece there.

I like the idea of combinding different clays togther like this. Great vid good idea. keep them coming.

Thank you! One does have to be a bit careful when using different clays. I just got lucky with this one! :-)
offcenteredpotter 3 years ago
its cuz the different clay may expand, and shrink at different rates, so it may cause cracking( Im guessin botu the crackin part)

Hello offcenteredpotter,
I'm working my way through your clips. And am thoroughly enjoying the experience.
your shapes have reminded me of emmanuel boos.

Probably my fav. potter.
Cheers, Andrew.

Thanks Andrew for your comments. This is what I like about You Tube... getting to know other potters. I am going to check out the site you mentioned.

hey i love the pot, and i was just wondering do you make your own clay, buy it, or both?
savvyspidey 4 years ago
I don't make my clay... I buy it. Clay isn't expensive compared to all other the other costs involved.
offcenteredpotter 4 years ago
I buy all my clay... it's jusy easier for me and most clay isn't all thay expensive. I do reclaim it myself though.

Im wondering what the final result looks like.
Cause porcelain shrinks like mad and I would be suprised to see if that actualy held togethor.
Im not trying to sound like a jerk
cause if it works and can get fired that it is very inovative and looks awsome
