Marty, I bought a guitar a couple weeks ago along with "Teach yourself guitar lessons" on DVD. After a week of trying to learn how to read notes and memorize cords per the DVD and I quickly gave up and decided to put my guitar and DVD up for sale. Just by chance I clicked on one of your videos to check out what the guy in the crazy with the guitar was doing and I have now learned how to play several songs with my guitar. Thanks for making it fun to learn the guitar. You da man!
I just started playing guitar last year, and have learned the simple chords and keys. Working on being able to change chords smoothly. Also need lots of practice with melody and strums to give the songs a good rhythmic sound. Your lessons are great for everything I need.
This video seems pretty easy to follow. My husband and I play and sing publicly. He is a very experienced guitar player. I, on the other hand have only been playing a few years. I was looking for the small interlude in the middle of the song. I guess it would be for the lead guitar. Thanks, Susan

I think it is better if people find the strum patterns out themselves cause they'll learn faster and 10 minutes for 3 chords is a bit much but after all it's a great lesson
I have had a hard time learning to strum guitar again after my index finger was repaired after it was nearly cut off in a machine. I love the guitar and I want to be great but I get really discouaged because i cant hold on to the pick as well as i use to. I watch your vids all the time and you seem to have geat answers. Do you have any suggestions that may be useful to get me back on track. Thanks for the vids buddy, love what you do! Rock on!
@TopFliteTim80 I have a friend who has MS and he has a hard time holding on to the pick also. He takes about 5 minutes before he starts playing and tapes the pick between his thumb and index finger. It will take a bit of playing around with it to see how tight to tape it, but he has it right down pat now. Good luck!
@Einarvdv Simple trick to improve the sound, practice, practice a bit more and then practice even more. After a little while of playing you will get used to playing chords easily and fastly.

Marty, I have to say I really enjoy your videos. I just started strumming about 3 weeks ago. I put my 10 year old daughter into guitar lessons and I go with her. I got interested in it and to do something with my daughter. My buddy gave me a hand me down guitar. After every lesson with my daughter I come home and watch your videos. hey marty. i recently started watching videos on youtube for guitar. after watching awhile i really felt like i could play, especially from watching your videos. man i wish i found a teacher like you a few years ago. so i bought a guitar and i've been practicing a little bit now and starting to get the hang of it. changing chords is still hard, but i know if i keep watching your videos, i'll get it. thanks marty, your videos are the best.

CCR is one of the best bands ever man, and I gotta thank you for making it easy for anyone to learn just about any song. I really dig the way you help someone learn blues styles so easily as well man..I'm a HUGE Stevie Ray Vaughan fan but some of his stuff as anyone who has played for a little bit knows isn't so easy..If you could show me ANYTHING from him I would appreciate it..Please message me if you could help!!

Marty, I have to say I really enjoy your videos. I just started strumming about 3 weeks ago. I put my 10 year old daughter into guitar lessons and I go with her. I got interested in it and to do something with my daughter. My buddy gave me a hand me down guitar. After every lesson with my daughter I come home and watch your videos. You have great talent and I'm sure me and my daughter will learn a lot from you. Thanks again for your time and energy.
