I agree with those who vote for Keaton as the best Batman actor ever (not to say that to us he IS Batman, actually). To me, probably the main reason for his extraordinary role on the film was his ability to make of Batman such a mysterious, silent character who hardly ever said a word, while all the other Batman actors were so charlatan and outspoken, making of Batman such a ridiculous superhero. Keaton has proven to be a real professional, even if he never had the popularity he deserved.
I knew that Bat credit card was gonna come up in one way or another. It's impossible to talk about B&R without that coming up. You're right that Clooney was in by far the worst Batman film ever made, but he's still a better actor than Kilmer. And until I hear differently, I'm pretty sure the Bat credit card was Schumacher's idea (or Akiva Goldman's). Kilmer is just bland. Clooney is too but at least you can tell he's in on the joke. Kilmer has no idea how campy everything is. He's just awful.

bob kane is a twat who stole the idea of batman, he originally pictured batman in red spandex, he lied about batman all the time just to make more money... having said that the '89 is amazing and much better than TDK
@1i1hawk1i1 QWell, to be Fair, Conroy has been the longest lasting and most versatile of the Batman actors, true....but his performance, voice styling and emotive persona for the character were BASED on Keaton's performance in the movies. If they EVER want to make a "The Dark Knight Returns" movie...all they need to do is bulk him up, gray his hair, retrain him in fighting and let Keaton do his work. He WAS Bruce Wayne AND Batman!
@BehindCurtain1 l'm NOT disagreeing with you, here; simply saying l understsand the Conroy fan's perceptions. ln some ways, Kevin had it harder because he DIDN'T have the same physical presence on-screen as Michael, so he HAD to portray more with less, and he's done so very well for more than 15 years. I still say Keaton is the BEST, most balanced, truest live action depiction of Batman ever, but in terms of years playing the role and challenges coming with it, we gotta give Kevin Conroy his due
Producers to Tim Burton: Yeah, go ahead Tim, have Batman kill people off left and right. It's okay, it's not like the mythos is important or anything. Fuck it, it's ours now.

I'm not even a comic fan but because of Keaton and Burton Batman is my favorite fictional character. Batman wouldn't even be around today if it wasn't for Michael Keaton.

@VillaTragedia the "shitty armor" is a bit more realistic than a rubber suit, but you seem too retarded to grasp that realism was the direction of the newer films
@deltamode8 We are talking about Batman, batman never used to wear an armor ! Please tell to your overrated love Chris Nolan that he if you want realism, he can direct a remake of Cannibal holocaust. Troll......
@LoomVideos There is a clip floating around online where he said "Nolan gets it" (what Batman is about) and he seemed to be pleased with the last few films.
I personally think Keaton is the better Batman & Bale the better Bruce. Keaton portrays the craziness/duality of Batman much better. You're never sure whether Keaton will just completely crack or keep it together & save the day. Bale is always in control of Batman's role & his lion roar voice is plain annoying. I love how Keaton sounds. His voice is something I associate with the 80s. I've always liked Keaton's Batmobile much better, too. Bale's looks too simple.
@DarkHeroesForever He wasn't dark enough for me, and the feel of the movie was too campy, had the tone been more darker, we would have never seen Batman and Robin see the light of day, heck if that movie was not so insanely rubbish, we might not have even had Christopher Nolan take over.
@bdhammi It wasn't that campy because it is not the 60's. To me, my main problem was Two-Face he wasn't Two-Face that flips a coin and made his decision. This Two-Face only cares what he wants to do. Val as Batman isn't that dark, but he is not Cloony or West because their Batman was campy. Val did it serious.
@GatewayDXSeries How in the world do they suck??? "The Dark Knight" is a cinematic masterpiece, Burton's films were good too, but c'mon - Bale kicks Keaton's ass!
So I heard Val Kilmer was far too difficult and weird as the director complained. All the other Batman movies after Batman Returns SUCKED. What the fuck was up with the stupid campy sound effects with the one with Arnold? I mean, they'd jump and there would be a "BOING!!" sound... I mean, come on. Also, Christian Bale looks like a tweaker and his eyes are sunken in... looks like a drug addict.
@GaryHasGone I get what you're saying but I just believe people shouldn't hold a grudge against him for it like they have been. He recognised what he did and apologised sincerly for it. People should just move on.
@GaryHasGone How do you know he had an outburst on the set of Batman? Ive certainly never heard of that plus I doubt Christopher Nolan would stand for that. Bale did it on Terminator because lets face it the people he was working with probably weren't very professional (McG was the director, that says everything). I agree I don't think it was right of him to do but the fact is he acknowledged what he did was wrong and apologised for it. Besides many actors have done it. Michael Caine said he has
@GaryHasGone Yeah, it was one outburst and it was wrong of him to do. He apologised to the guy a few minutes after and made a 10 minute public apology. Everyone gets angry and goes off the handle like he did. Plus if you've ever worked on a film set you will no what a pressurised and tense enviroment it is. Especially if your working on a film like that.
@FlixCreEightR I hope you're not referring to Christian Bale with that statement. He is one of the few actors who really care and are passionate about acting.
Man I so remember seeing this movie. I just bought it on DVD. Me and my bro would watch in on VHS ALL THE TIME! Michael Keaton will ALWAYS be my batman.
If we should trust IMBd David Letterman stands 6'2'' and Michael Keaton 5'9'' (I just had to look it up, he's the shortest Batman actor) so how come I can't see a major height difference? Is Michael wearing some kind of height shoes that gives him one or two extra inches? Think so...
@Spyflugan91 Because it's also thought by others that he is actually 5'10. If you factor that in then when they're next to each other briefly here it seems about right
I agree with those who vote for Keaton as the best Batman actor ever (not to say that to us he IS Batman, actually). To me, probably the main reason for his extraordinary role on the film was his ability to make of Batman such a mysterious, silent character who hardly ever said a word, while all the other Batman actors were so charlatan and outspoken, making of Batman such a ridiculous superhero.

Keaton's Batman, Kilmer's Batman, and Bale's Batman are my three favorite Batman actors, the rest just suck.

@TheFuturecartoonist Adam West! No I'm just kidding, I hate Kilmer to be honest, I agree with the rest

@bdhammi Val was pretty good.

@DarkHeroesForever He wasn't dark enough for me, and the feel of the movie was too campy, had the tone been more darker, we would have never seen Batman and Robin see the light of day, heck if that movie was not so insanely rubbish, we might not have even had Christopher Nolan take over.
bdhammi 1 year ago
@bdhammi It wasn't that campy because it is not the 60's. To me, my main problem was Two-Face he wasn't Two-Face that flips a coin and made his decision. This Two-Face only cares what he wants to do. Val as Batman isn't that dark, but he is not Cloony or West because their Batman was campy. Val did it serious.

@GatewayDXSeries How in the world do they suck??? "The Dark Knight" is a cinematic masterpiece, Burton's films were good too, but c'mon - Bale kicks Keaton's ass!

The Dark Knight was ok....can't stand Bale anymore. The ending was stupid, and the whole time the Joker kept pulling bunnies out of hats...

People should just move on.
americanpsycho28 1 year ago
@GaryHasGone How do you know he had an outburst on the set of Batman? Ive certainly never heard of that plus I doubt Christopher Nolan would stand for that. Bale did it on Terminator because lets face it the people he was working with probably weren't very professional (McG was the director, that says everything). I agree I don't think it was right of him to do but the fact is he acknowledged what he did was wrong and apologised for it. Besides many actors have done it. Michael Caine said he has
americanpsycho28 1 year ago
@GaryHasGone Yeah, it was one outburst and it was wrong of him to do. He apologised to the guy a few minutes after and made a 10 minute public apology. Everyone gets angry and goes off the handle like he did. Plus if you've ever worked on a film set you will no what a pressurised and tense enviroment it is. Especially if your working on a film like that.
americanpsycho28 1 year ago
@GaryHasGone That's a good thing though. He considers it his art and takes it really seriously. We need more actors like that.
americanpsycho28 1 year ago
They should make a Batman beyond when he's older and have him play the old Bruce Wayne. His personality is more like the character than anyone else.
gham619 1 year ago
Dude Christian Bale played Batman awesome. But Keaton WAS Batman!!!

Michael Keaton rocks . It's a shame that all the young actors today pretty much suck .
FlixCreEightR 1 year ago 6
@FlixCreEightR I hope you're not referring to Christian Bale with that statement. He is one of the few actors who really care and are passionate about acting.

If we should trust IMBd David Letterman stands 6'2'' and Michael Keaton 5'9'' (I just had to look it up, he's the shortest Batman actor) so how come I can't see a major height difference? Is Michael wearing some kind of height shoes that gives him one or two extra inches? Think so...
Spyflugan91 1 year ago
@Spyflugan91 Because it's also thought by others that he is actually 5'10. If you factor that in then when they're next to each other briefly here it seems about right
jwild611 1 year ago
Batman exists but only the government knows about him. He's been assisting crime fighting for years. Batman is a true story.
