Amazing scene! Simple, yet epic. The only problem I have with this scene is that she shoots 11 rounds before reloading; most Desert Eagles hold 7 rounds. To me, it takes away from the realism of the scene. But this is definitely my favorite shootout scene in any movie, even better than the lobby scene in the first Matrix. Awesome setting, suspenseful background music, loud n beefy gunshots... good stuff.
I fell in love with Anne Parillaud after watching her stunning performance, the best of any action female star I've ever seen, and I've seen them all. The degree of acting acting skill she demonstrated with such consummate skill in the most complex of emotional scenes (even more rare for an action film) took my breath away, she set a whole new level of performance for the genre. It's really a tragedy that she didn't enjoy the big acting career that this film so dramatically promised.
Why is the American title "La Femme Nikita" ? ^^ And the film director is Luc Besson ! ^^ Anyway, the scene of this film, and all the film, is amazing.
This movie is incredible well acted, you can actually see the expression of panic on her face when her situation seems helpless, still she gets out, just awesome screenplay and music. The only problem I have is that she is issued with a Desert Eagle :/ Wow assassins wouldnt need that handcanon for such job, also no recoil on it and she fires more than 6 rounds before reloading, still love this movie :]
For me there´s THE Luc Besson´s trilogy: The Big Blue, Nikita and The Professional. I wish he could make movies like this again, with his own universe and psyche that touch you very very deep inside.
you can take just a coffee if you want, and it's exactly as it was 20 years ago, still amazing. Don't forget to visit the toilets...and see if you find a window ;)
it is the bit just after this, with tcheky, that i love. i think he acts it so well... when she rebuffs him and he doesn't know quite what to do with himself. the bit outside the cell door.
I am so disappointed . There are no uploaded Nikita movies but I did find the sorry assed American remake called The Assassin. This same exact scene in the American version did not leave the same impression as the French original. Brigette Fonda can't hold a candle up to Anne Parillaud's performance.
Great movie. I thought the intensity of this scene was incredible the first time I saw the film. I think I even immediately hit "replay" when the movie was over, and that's extremely rare for me.
Watch the scene when they get outside of the policestation entering the car..the walk to the mercedes..listen to the music! everything is so well timed. i dunno wich came first music or the movie. everyone i show the movie to ask me wtf im talkin about.
I love this film!!! Now she is one bad ass bitch!!

@TheNtx33 found somewhere Jean-Luc is his full name. I'll edit that, however. :)

I could say so much to describe what details make this scene so magnificent, but I don't want to ruin it with words.
