Very good. Very good. However...something I would try to do is slow down a little bit and take your time. Not trying to cut you up. Very good. Also... it was the last nocturne he wrote, I believe. Or at least, that's what Ive heard. I could be wrong. And one more tip...at the end try and draw it out. Think of it as his last words, and make them sing. Once again, not trying to cut you up. You did excellent. Never stop making music. :)
Your playing is very good but a little too mechanical, you need to slow down in certain parts* of the song so as to draw out or savor each chopin note, and play more with feeling, that a machine could not do. i.e. - Throw the metronome away with this song. Thank You. *Chopin was very meticulous and thorough in his musical compositions. Look at the sheet music very carefully and make sure you understand what each symbol or word means. It's probably written in there.
BRAVO: you played and I could tell you were into it and enjoying the piece..made me wish you were my daughter and I could sit and listen to you play all day. That 'big' smile at the end was great too..keep having fun and enjoy yourself..I think one day you will compose your own piece. LOL
Classic song? Argh.. first of all it's classicAL, not classic. And then this composition is neither classical nor is it a song. The Classical period refers to the time of Mozart, Haydn and Beethoven. Chopin belongs to the Romantic era. Then a song is something you sing. Are you singing in this video? I don't think so. You're rather playing a piece, more precisely: a Nocturne.
C'mon, why u expect the perfect sense of musicianship from 10 year old girl. I think she did am impressive job. I cant even do this. You guys should encourage her and come up with the better words or if you cant think of one, better keep yourself quiet.
very good, only.. the left hand, it's too 1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, 4,.. try to put some more emotion in that, like a wave a bit (don't know how to explain exactly) but it's the romantic period, and this is too steady; the right hand is perfect. way to go!
@mees04101993 haha i understood what u said so u explained it alright :P Good advice. Hopefully that sence of musicianship will develop as she grows up :)
i love your interpretation. it is a lot better then many people I have heard and i am from a family of professional and semi-professional classical muscicians
you keep a very steady beat throughout this whole song, which in some cases is appropriate, but i've learned and am still learning that chopin's works are to be exaggerated tempos and ritards and accelerandos. it puts more feeling into it when you play with a less-steady tempo, if that makes sense. you played this piece very well though- brava!
You're REALLY good, Rebecca. As you grow up and revisit the piece some times, just please DO NOT forget to add you growing mature sentiment to the playing of this piece. Chopin wrote it circa the last few years of his life, he must have give his heart to the piece, please don't let him down. More emotion, more fantasy.
WoW, what a Girl!!!=) she could be my younger twin sister, gosh =));) same name and also looks similar to me like when I was at that age=) Just keep on playing your music, precious!!!!!!!! 1 <3
Wow! you're very talented, it's really nice to hear you playing Chopin =). I play the piano but it's only a hobby for me and I must say that you're really, really better than me (despite my age, 15 years old). I wish I could play like you ^^ Just a question, how many hours a week do you play the piano ? 15 ? It would be nice if you could answer my question.
Sorry for my bad english, I'm french and I sometimes make horrible mistakes =)
astounding, perfect, excellent, 0 errors. Although i don't hope so, you might be better than me when you grow up, i really wouldn't want that to happen because i want to be the best pianist in the world, and the thought that there are always other pianist out there that are better than me bugs, irritates, and worries me. Well i've posted dozens of comments but i have never, evev revealed my name, well, whoever sees this is one lucky person: look out for this name when you grow up Timothy Gondola

Heel mooi gespeeld, Rebecca! Ga vooral door met klassiek, en vergeet niet om veel Bach te spelen!
I just saw that it is also in the Henle edition, and there they mention 1837 as the date of composition, which means that it is not the first one, Chopin was already 27 then. Well, let's believe the musicologists.
You brought me to tears. I look forward to seeing you in a concert hall playing a major concerto, The Mozart, K.595 or the Beethoven "Emperor," perhaps. As Mozart told Beethoven once, "Someday you will make a great noise in the world." Thank you for sharing your talent and your obvious love of music with us now.
Very impressive. Keep up the good work!

I noticed your interpretation was completely different from the dynamics transcribed on the piano score, but there's still a lot of room for improvement - for example, your tempo needs to be consistent, you tend to quicken up during the louder parts, and don't you notice your tempo gradually quickening? You could also do better in contrasting piano and forte. The irregular quavers could also do with more clarity. But otherwise, great work girl, looking forward to your future performances.
