A more ambituous question: why do scientists bother with introducing meteorites as the possible initiators of life? Sure, they were falling on Earth also before life, but aren't the Earth's former conditions sufficient for life to emerge? I mean, were there molecules in meteorites that would be so important and at the same time not available on Earth?
Even though a cell membrane may be required for the generation of life...It is more accurate to say that the start of cellular life began with the mechanism for production of amino acids exhibiting homochirality. Something which nobody has even come close to resolving.
I'm relgious and I'm studying to be a biologist. There's room for both faith and science. As long as you don't go preaching what you think is correct, any way you think life was created is fine by me.

Everyone, here is the truth. God made the earth and He made every creature on it. The theory of evolution is wrong. They misinterprit data and come up with rediculous claimes like ape and man sharing a common ancester.
@ccheng21 Atheists are so stubborn, they think this RNA research could happen on a primordial earth..HAHAHA
Synthesizing machines trained chemists controlling every step of the experiment, along with activated bases, which were not made from scratch.and controlled TEMPERATURES!!!! would all be found on a primordial earth???
@ccheng21 "This engineered RNA" would break down do to the unstable conditions of it..similar to rats leaving a sinking ship..This artificial RNA..has ZERO chance of further evolving into a living cell.
Activated subunits are used along with templates taken from living sources..its not a geochemical relevant reaction.Intelligence created life not time and chance!
@ccheng21 Self assembling molecules is just another ridiculous assumption amino acids dont assemble them selves EVER! scientists need to stop removing GOD! From there science! there are major problems such as Chirality, and saying that life flew in from space answers nothing!, it just pushes the problem out into space!!!, and thats some stubborn Logic!
@5tonyvvvv Saying god did it just pushes the problem unto God. Who created the creator, since he is infinitely more complex than us, having created very complex nucleotide combinations in the form of DNA, which would take genius luck to have gotten right on the first guess or two (unlike the billions of years that it actually took through natural selection, which makes much more sense). Did someone create this super complex entity, because he sure sounds like he (or she?) was designed.
@econowage Intelligence is needed to create software code or assemble a computer! FAR MORE intelligence is needed for the assemblance of the first Cell and thereby DNA. A DNA code is far more complex in design than All the Worlds Softwares COMBINED!! Therefore we can deduce Intelligent DESIGN! Homochirality and hydrolysis would prevent life from ever starting! It is chemically and mathematically impossible for a single protein to form!!
@econowage They same can be said for abiogenesis! It takes FAITH to believe it!! by pushing the problem out into space or on the backs of space crystals, answers NOTHING! Where did that INFORMATION come from??? and how did it self assemble??? Learn Homochirality!!
I think you are missing something. The soupists seem to think that proteins self-assembled from a mixture of amino acids in the primordial soup. If true, how do you explain the fact that the earliest proteins only formed from L-amino acids? The soupists try to get around this by supposing that there was natural enrichment for L-amino acids over D-amino acids in the soup. Either way Racemic Mixtures NEVER WORK!!! Please explain how all LEFT handed amino acids can form and self assemble????
@lokuzzz I'm not educated but since you are please tell me why the earth is turning around the sun. What is causing the earth to turn around the sun.And by the way what is gravity.

yes self asemble a soap buble. into your brain. sory dude youve lost it. microbubles or not even the most basic form of reproducing DNA is so comlex you can forget your self asembly line. yes bubles not aminos not protien not DNA. you should invest your time in better things then this. like saving the sick people in this world
Great video:) I enjoyed it! It sounds like he has a bit of a chip on his shoulder though. I think his "judgment" of creationists is pretty ignorant. What he should understand is that creationists say that DNA is too complexed for a human to understand. Or a better word would be "comprehend". And it is. Fortunately, we have computers to help us with that. He speaks as though creationists won't study DNA because of this... which is just silly. Nano technology is where he should be picking at.
actually, what he is saying, is that his opinion of Intelligent Design's statement that life is too complex, sounds like a judgment call to him. That is what he finds inappropriate in the ID movement, they essentially come up with their conclusion already and don't bother asking any new questions. He's a scientist, it is his job to ask questions.
Thanks for replying. I think I understand. I just feel he is putting words in "intel designs" mouth. I really like the guy. But it sounds like a clever way to pick a fight to me. Science is pursuit of truth. I have a hard time believing that Christian scientists don't question the bible and everything else that comes to mind. I am being specific but this IS what he is picking at, right? I DO however believe that many Christians are at fault of making a Judgement call. But they are not scientists
eh I don't know enough about the ID movement enough to make a fair call. I don't really care about them either. Their intentions may be good butthey sound like radical Christians. Any group that calls themselves a"movement" sounds like a cult to me. But the idea of ID(biblical prospective) is VERY similar to "The Bang" in origin andthe Bible should be researched by ALL scientists as a valid history book. Unfairness seems to go both ways due to mans selfish ambitions. I try to enjoy the circus;)
Ben Stein never interviewed Richard Dawkins. The footage in "Expelled" was done under false pretenses, just as how most ID works in the media, they cheat and falsify evidence and twist words to get the message through. Scientists don't do that, they say things as is and the truth is always on their side for doing it.
It's not that it's too complex to understand them, it's that it's mathematically impossible for that to have happened by chance. Here's a perspective of the impossibility of evolution. Take Texas and fill it up knee deep with quarters. Now color the back side of one of those quarters with a marker and throw it somewhere in Texas. Now take a blind man and have him pick that colored quarter on his first try. Now does that seem possible?
yes, life evolving by itself is mathematically highly improbably....yet here we are. So obviously we defied the odds like how some people seem to defy the odds for winning state lotteries and such. Sure, if you calculate the math after the fact it may seem nigh-impossible, nontheless it happened.
@giovanni5525 I don't think for that matter that it would be difficult to find a blind man ( intellectually) in Texas. Thinking that the evolution has occurred by chance is just a deep scientific ignorance of the uneducated, unable ( or unwilling) to comprehend the process of natural selection. The science may not have the all answers, but through the methodology and experiments is trying to pierce through our (human) ignorance. Without science only thing left is MAGIC.
He also makes grossly ignorant statements that insult so many of the great scientist. Spinozza, Kepler, Newton, Capernicus, Lister, Pastuer, Mendel, Maxwell, Galileo... . These men were inspired to explore the works of a wonderful creator and looked for order not random chaos evolutonist would expect. Evolutionist label DNA that they don't understand as junk left over by chance, turns out like all the so called vestgal organs.
Well he can't test 4 billion years ago and you are very correct it is not science to believe that, it is faith and blind faith at that. The judgement that extremely complex molecules can't self organize agrees with everything we observe in the real world. All they need to do is create their own so called simple self replicating organism that would prove them correct, with the countless resorces and knowledge it should be no probem, but for now soap bubbles prove evolution ;o] .
Now its the soap theory? because chemical reactions occur that therefor proves replicating life self assembled itself 4 billion years ago we know because we do indeed have soap bubbles.
Hate to burst his precious little bubble but DNA which is complex coded information system can ever prove something occurs by random chance but just he opposite.
Hey evolutinist, make your own elements, radiations, time, space, quarks, etc. You have to burrow from what God created make up what you wanted. Even with these basic elements you can not even creat simple living organism. You tried but could not. Stop this evolution rediculism.

I agree completely with Hissanrach. I'm in the same boat. Too many people think they have all the answers.
The truth of this matter is that no one has the answer. Nobody knows where we came from. At least science is trying to figure it out.
