@mandith The lyrics are EXTREMELY different. The songs are like two completely diffferent songs from completely different bands. The finnish versions, the originals, are much more fantasy orientated and less dark and mystical like the English ones. They're only singing in english now because nuclear blast said so, I expect. To make them make more money.

Well, I guess it sounds easy...it did sound easy to me too, before I came to Finland 6 months ago, and started listening and speaking to the language. ä, ö and y are not so easy, neither are the dipthongs äy, öy, yä, yö, believe me! And another thing are the groups of consonants like for example: -nss- -rkk- -ltt- -ntt- jne...it's hard. Mut, jos haluut oppia, opit ;)

Anyway, to learn the language didn't take me long, in about a month I could speak quite correctly. How long it will take you to learn it, I don't know. A lot of people never learn it, while some learn it immediately; it just depends.

The nominative plural for the words is always -T; the -EN is a nominative singular if it's -NEN or a genitive singular of the same word, if it's -SEN. The -EN ending is not in every word though, and that's the big problem because the -NEN ending words are REALLY easy to declinate.

Not exactly...

There is consonantic alternation (?), so t becomes d (not always, but in this case it does) and you put the verb in third person instead of first. The pitää without alternation (alternance?) would be right, but you have to use the first, which is: pidän.

Then, you have to add something, say 'I like is' or 'I like this song/piece' for example...and with verbs pitää/tykkää you have to use -sta ending...

so: I like this song: Minä pidän tästä laulusta :D

Yes, it is, you just have to use another ending for the word, not the accusative one, which is usually the genitive (-n) or sometimes the partitive (-a/ä; -ta/tä; -tta/ttä), but the elative (-sta/-stä)...it's just that. with the two verbs pitää and tykkää you must use that...but you can't just say 'I like', you have to add something, like for example I did when I explained...'I like this song'...
