Jesus loves all gays too. They have feelings, they cry, they also hear the voice of
God. If Jesus were alive today, the gay community would the the first community he would reach out to, for they have been the ones who have been outcasts for thousands of years. Sorry, the Jesus I believe in was never on the side of the bullies.
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
I really cannot agree with U or admit with any honesty that [many ] are "bigoted', etc.. On the contrary my belief makes clear that the Savior who called us to what we are & believe does so for everyone in authentic& uncompromising love & perfection.In the book of Romans6, it makes clear that God came to all of us when we were fallen,helpless,immoral & condemned. We were morally bankrupt & confused but Christ died for us then.Desiring to reveal marvelous light of the Creator is not bigotry
Seeing as the overpopulation problem doesn't really effect societies where homosexuality is accepted it really isn't that good of a point.
If homosexuality was accepted in Muslim majorities and Theocracies the idea of population control through same sex attraction may be valid, but it isn't so it isn't.
friendship with the world means enemity towards God
obama is trying to please the whole world with his choices, guess he will change the law so murderers can murder and rapists can rape just so we dont ''discriminate'' them
Maybe there's something to the claims that Obama is a Muhammadan seeing as Islam makes allowances for murder and rape?
Myself, I just feel bad for the guy: It's hard to lie all of the time, so to play the open appeaser when other, off the cuff, comments have shown him to not be so all accepting must be very taxing.
I'll be the first to admit that my PM is a bit of an idiot, but at least he doesn't chew his foot every time that he opens his mouth.
You fail so hard, arguing your homophobic views. Clearly, homosexual people are no problem at all in society. We need less people bearing children; already way too many in this world.
3) The fact that love doesn't necessarily beget life doesn't make it inauspicious. There are plenty of straight couples who are barren, beyond the child bearing age or who simply choose not to have children and of course that doesn't make their love mean any less. There are 7 billion people on the planet, there's no urgent need to make more children.
No, your posts do not come from facts. They come from bigotry that is very thinly veiled, when it's veiled at all. And I'm glad everyone can see it
I've spent many years studying The Book that I feel best represents my understanding of the world and I still can't wrap my head around how it says that gay is bad:
The law of the land in Liviticus stating that man should not lay with man comes smack dab in the middle of the laws of adultury. Seems to me that it's saying that bumping uglies with another man is not a get out of jail free card in fucking around on your wife not that the act , itself, is wrong.
That passage in Leviticus is either saying, depending on your interpretation, that practicing homosexuals should be put to death OR that adulterers should be put to death, which either way is moronic. But for those skeptics, the bible took the trouble to also denounce homos in Kings Romans and I think Corinthians. Either way, it's a very old, outdated book wih outdated morals for an outdated culture, and we as a society would do well not to listen to it anymore.
Christopher Hitchens once said that the high points of Christianity had been gleaned by other cultures and faiths well before Christianity's birth, and the low points of Christianity- all the genocide and polygamy and slavery and other ancient, provincial proclamations by that barbaric book- are reason enough themselves to want to avoid them.
I like Mr. Hitchens and wish him the best in his recovery.
I dislike Mr. Hitchens' propensity to insult the intelligence of his audience: In an article arguing religious influence on equality he stated that punishment for murder existed before Judeo-Christian law. He's not wrong, it's just that we now call that treason as it didn't apply to the common man.
Those who study the bible in the minutea that it is presented take it as the literal word of God, and that's inaccurate.
1) biological or non biological parentage doesn't determine whether or not a family is "real", as many straight people adopt and those families are "real".
2) technology now allows two gay men to contribute each of their own genetic information into a hollowed out egg which can be planted into a uterus, effectively allowing a gay couple to have a child that is entirely their own.
This sermon reminds me of something said by Abraham Lincoln:
"I will say then that I am not, nor ever have been in favor of bringing about in anyway the social and political equality of the white and black races – that I am not nor ever have been in favor of making voters or jurors of negroes, nor of qualifying them to hold office, nor to intermarry with white people; (contd)
And as far as your comment, we can actually have children via various methods, surrogate motherhood for example, and we can adopt. Hundreds of thousands of children are sitting in orphanages right now, praying for a good home. So our families are absolutely equal, and it hurts me to read the same ignorance we've heard for over a century; first about slavery, then suffrage, then segregation, interracial marriage. The people who are trying to make the world worse never sleep
If you think Civil Unions are O.K., Mr. President, I think whites Only and Colored restrooms are O.K. too. What a shame that even a man as well-read as yourself hasn't learned from history; separate but equal is not equal.
And civil unions only confer about 75% of the economic benefits of marriage. You will only get my vote if the alternative is worse, and while you have done many good things for the country, apparently my friends and I will be spending another four years at the back of the bus.
Aside from the jaw-dropping non sequitur of pleading the Sermon on the Mount as validation of homosexual 'rights' ( all the more remarkable considering Matt 5:17-18 of that Sermon of sermons upholds Lev 20:13!!!), the phrase "... an obscure passage in Romans" betrays Obama's fundamental ignorance of Christianity - there is NO "obscure" passage in Romans! It is THE God breathed theological statement of justification!
But let us heed Christ Jesus words in the Sermon on the Mount - pray for Obama!
I wonder if you really belive lev 20:13? Do you really believe gays should be put to death? That is what lev 20:13 says. Do you seriously believe that the sermon on the mount was jesus's way of supporting that point of view? Was he also upholding lev 20: 9, 10, or 18?
What I "really believe" is inconsequential to the comment I made. The FACT is that the instructions contained in Lev (as well as Gen, Ex, Num & Deut) form the Torah, i.e the Law. Hence, when Jesus states that He has not come to destroy the Law but to fulfil it & that not one jot or tittle shall pass from the Law until all be fulfilled, He is indeed upholding that. All "gays" along with EVERY other sinner (all) will receive their wages: death! Only in Christ Jesus can you avoid this.
well, for one, gays shouldn't have to imitate straight people's marriage institution, your gay your gay, your not straight. stop imitating the straights and be yourself! second: Barak Obama is the president by ILLEGAL means, as he's not an american citizen, and also his REAL NAME is actually Barry Soetoro and he works for the Private Fed Criminal Syndicate and by rights should be behind bars. So, on both fronts, my opinion is: NO to marriage. NO to the illegal presidency!
At one time in America, using the exact same logic and bible, Black people were Banned from Getting Married Obama, they used the Sin of Cain to deny youre ancestors Marriage and now you are making the same error with us. As long as you are the Oppressor and willing to opress others, expect ALL black people to continue to be oppressed.
You can believe in Gay Marriage, we actually have evidence for its existence, unlike your fictitious floating skydaddy from the Buybull.
@68chargerlover Lol it originally was in gold we trust, and what's even more funny is how the pledge is often sited as a legitimate source proving the legitimacy of a christian nation.. even though the pledge was added due to the cold war scare.
@remainsforgotten89 Uhmm no it started around 1866 and was put on a two cent piece. It became the motto of the USA and Central American and Nicaragua. Its felt the came from the star spangled banner written in 1814. So yeah i would say we are a christian nation. Sad how gays are against the moral fiber that made this country strong, wonder why could it be the bible is against gay sex?
@thegirl44 As a source for what? Theology should be a source for something in the political arena? The constitution certainly doesn't espouse theology in any sense either. You can be a pedant and toss platitudes, but the founding fathers abhorred the institution of Christianity. Perhaps our political system should work a little closer to home and champion some form of theological deism? Or perhaps we can discuss our politics over astrological "signs" as a "source". Ineffectual pedantry, sorry.
They abbohred the instituations (plural) of Christianty. That's what I said.
They did not dismiss very Judeo Christian beliefs like freedom to worship, restitution in place of retaliation, man as a temple with rights not to be imposed upon by other man, to name a few.
While not uniquely Christian ideas by the time the constitution was written they do find their inception in these beliefs. They certainly didn't adopt the parallel Roman beliefs of advancement through murder.
@thegirl44 That's not what you said at all. They in fact DID dismiss Judeo-Christianity at its very core (I can start listing quotes if you'd like). Freedom to worship etc (what you listed) are emphatically NOT Christian ideals. Christianity stole almost all of its tenets and maxims from antecedent religions (and the founding fathers knew this b/c they knew their history). You seem to have posited some ill-bred ultimatum: Christianity vs. Roman paganism, as if that weren't completely...cont
My apologies for being so long in responding, Brannon.
I will share a recent evidence of not only the receptiveness of the US system to theology but also simple dogma:
Once we had prisons where all and sundry were thrown into a common space to fight and fornicate. Over time the government adopted the penitentiary system, isolating criminals to reflect on their ill deeds in solitude.
The "penitentiary (Penitant)" is a Quaker idea. Feel free to Google it.
Con't My reference to Roman society was an example from a society that was in close contact with the Christians of the bible, not a sole applicable juxtaposition. I apologize if that wasn't clear.
I think that George Washingtome summed it up well when he said, I paraphrase, that you cannot govern without God and his teachings. I'm content to think that what he was implying was, "If it ain't broke don't fix it" as opposed to taking any deep theological stand.
@thegirl44 "The government of the United States is in no sense founded on the Christian religion" - John Adams
"What have been Christianity's fruits? More or less in all places, pride and indolence in the Clergy, ignorance and servility in the laity; in both, superstition, bigotry, and persecution." - James Madison
"Lighthouses are more helpful than churches" - Ben Franklin
"I have examined all the known superstitions of the world, and I do not find in our particular superstition...-
@thegirl44 ...of Christianity one redeeming feature. They are all alike founded on fables and mythology." - Thomas Jefferson
Christianity succeeded in spreading through the Roman Empire (which was contemporaneous with Christian teachings) because in Byzantium, emperor Constantine converted to Christianity (after a *vision* of a Xstian symbol, followed by a battle victory). Others then sought, for political and social acclimation, to convert.
It was indeed "broken". Thus the French Elightenment
I'll expand on that: You, like many people that I talk to, are unable to separate theology from religion.
Religion is, without a doubt, the bane of mankind. It has employed power where it wasn't deserved, supported the dessimation of people on a whim and obtained riches that should have been allocated to mankind.
THEOLOGY is an idea, and nothing more. The smart man can take from theology that what works and disregard the rest and the US has done this since it's inception.
@thegirl44 Oh, please. We are destined for the hairdresser with all of these split hairs. Theology: the study of the nature of God and religious belief. Right there in the definition is "religious beliefs". I gave you direct quotes, i'm not sure how you are still arguing. Most of the founding fathers claimed Deist beliefs. This was their theology. THEOLOGY hasn't done a damn thing for US policy. The country has been bastardized and turned over into a "Christian nation". We all know what heads..
Dismissing the business of religion does not a deist make (Why are you capitalizing Deist?).
You accuse me of splitting hairs while your entire argument has been your personal disdain for religion which is irrelevant to my original comment about church and state being separated not meaning the complete dismissal of theology. Thankfully, you supported my argument with your "Christian nation" comment, ending this conversation that you aren't informed enough to have.
@thegirl44 ..of state preach: Christianity. Everyone knows this.
Theology isn't worth the salt of its supposed "discipline". A gardener or chef may as well be justified in this area. But neither gardeners nor chefs (nor theologians) are running this country. You seem to be everywhere with your "points". Try to stick to something. God (in any sense) has no place in public policy, bc everyone agrees which version of "God" is the correct one. And that is not good. Ever.
I'm not saying that you're not a smart guy, you are, I'd just rather discuss a subject where you can shine.
I'll begin, if you'd like: If Warren Haynes were God, and music his Gospel, how long do you think that it would take for us to acheive world peace? Who has more facial expression: Derrick Trucks or an Irish Setter dog? When Little Richard "God'd the gay" out of himself, how much would you say the music suffered?
I think that the US Constitution is the loveliest document ever written. I read certain parts of it and choke up, man, no joke. I see it as one of those very rare times in history where mankind took the best that we had as a society in an optimum situation and really ran with it...and we came out shiny and beautiful.
What MEN have done to the system that that document created makes me just as pissed off as you.
@thegirl44 Well, what a lovely, misinformed, rambling, disjointed, passive-agressive riposte. As much as you tried for the "win" there, you just sounded sassy. Too bad. You were lost of this conversation before it started. I said the country has been bastardized into a Christian nation. Brush up on the reading. It was most clearly not founded on one. I DO enjoy those direct quotes! But alas, they seem to have no effect on those in ardent denial. At best, the FF were ambivalent to religion...
The founding fathers weren't ambivilant to religion, they were against it and the power that it wields in the context of the new country that they were forming. They were not, however, ambivilant to THEOLOGY, looking at the basic tenets of faith and deciding what, if anything, was relevant.
That the US is still receptive to many of the tenets is what led to a "Christian Nation", bastardized or otherwise.
@thegirl44 I'm not sure where it mentions the merits of theology in public policy in the Constitution. Article 6 perhaps? No, no...definitely not that one. Since you made no point, i'll go fishing to help you along. What ARE the merits of theology in public policy? Please, indulge. Who has used such theology - in this general, ambiguous, hazy sense you keep throwing out (even though I defined it)? You are not a Christian, right? It is just theology that is incredibly useful, is that accurate?
You'll have to show me where I argued the merits of theology in public policy to pose this question. Stating that something is so does not automatically align the poster with what is stated. Ideas that we have taken from Judeo-Christian theology have been as lacking of merit as they have held merit but they have always avoided the original intent of separating church and state: That the Church have no power.
@thegirl44 "The smart man can take from theology that what works and disregard the rest and the US has done this since it's inception" - you
Well that was easy. You are losing customers here! You are arguing for theology in public policy or you are arguing for theology in general. I don't think anyone knows which one at this point (including yourself). The church DOES have power. And the fact that I pay taxes to keep them in business and on location does not settle well with me.
Sorry, that comment doesn't support the practice by any stretch of the imagination, it merely states what can be done and has been done, this is clear when you read it in the context of the whole paragraph as opposed to cherry picking one sentence.
Nowhere, at all, have I argued FOR theology in public policy, I have only shown that it doesn't fall under the idea of the separation of church and state as guaranteed by the constituation.
@thegirl44 Will theology offer some "faithful faithiness" to help pay those taxes? Will theology decide Islam is the true way and insert that into our daily policies? Theology....what exactly is your stand on theology? This is tiresome so I'm gonna need you to be specific.
Theology can't decide anything, it's an idea, an abstract.
On the other hand, I've spent over 20 years working in Middle Asia and Africa where I have seen religious instituations and the men that represent them impliment theological laws on the public in a way that there is no hope of recourse other than outright rebellion.
I think that theology only has power when men apply that power to it, in it's natural state it can be as harmless as the idea of Utopia or Communism.
@thegirl44 So in the end, you don't know what you're trying to say. You had no point the entire time. You clearly started arguing for the abstract idea of theology (which subsumes religion in the very definition) in SOME sense. AND I quoted you. You have made plenty of snide remarks. Hypocritical AND nonsensical. You and your pal are in harsh denial. This is my last word here: Religion and theocracy never had any place, nor will they ever be an acceptable means of progress in public policy.
That your opinion that religion or theology have no place in public policy does not negate that they historically have had a place in it, my original point.
i wouldn't have been as patient as you've been with this ignorant, opinionated ass backwards redneck. one unsolicited insult and I would have torn him a new one.
It depends on which followers of which theology are trying to take over. Islamic theology supports the idea of Islam completely dominating the world while Judeo-Christian theology acknowledges that people will always believe different things. If Christians tried to take over they would not only be in violation of the Constitution they would also be contradicting the tenets of their faith.
What has happened in the middle east has happened to societies that followed very old societal ideas eg. It's not hard to overthrow a king in a society that still has a monarchy. Islam is considered to be as political as it is theological, so it's easier to impliment a religious Theocracy that sets out hard and fast rules for governing, as well. In "church" history money swayed the monarchy to work in the interest of the church the church didn't directly govern.
Con't That's not to say that the church didn't have power, it had far too much, Which is why Americans wanted separtion of church and state.
Brannon made a very good point about taxes being allocated to the church; this defies the Constitution but it was also decided by the democratic process that the Constitution helped impliment so although it's wrong, it's still right.
Democracy isn't a perfect philosophy, especially when put into practice, but it's what we've got...
There is nothing to keep the US from being taken over, it's even a strongly held US belief that if the current system isn't working you are obligated to tear it down and start again, but I don't think that North America will ever suffer a hostile takeover like we saw in Iran or Algiers because our Theological basis doesn't support it.
I'm off to make loud for the entertainment of others, now. I'll be happy to talk again if that answer wasn't what you were looking for.
@thepetsleashholder americans are cowards, muslims use violence to enforse sharia law. they will gradually and eventually submit . you can see it already in the way the president spoke out agaisnt the pastor in fla burning the koran. His reasoning was, dont burn it cause they will react with violence. his reasoning should have been, threats of violence do not intimidate us from exercising our liberties. period.
The president eloquently told the world that he believes as the bible says that God had no intentions for same sex to join being the purpose was to procrate and help each other and form family. As for the previous comments it shows lack of intelligence. Just because we have freedom of speech does not give u the right to be blasphemous against any one
32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. (Romans 1:24)
I'm with you man. I don't believe in 6, I think we should replace it half a dozen. And while we're at it, in stead of television, TV. ALRIGHT, I feel this. Instead of 12, a dozen, instead of 24, 2 dozen. Thank God we people aint dumb. Instead of 48 inches, 4 feet. My edchmakatchins working here. Insead of 12 inches, 1 foot. Just think if he thought we were dumb. Instead of car, automobile. Yall' feel me. instead of ride, ok now your turn America....
how can he say that gays should be trated with respect and say marriage is between a man and a woman??? And the sermon on the mount hahahaha not everyone in the US is christian in fact not everyone in the US believes in God!
@jalbroven91 Of course they should, what I meant is, if he is for treating gay people with respect why not giving them the human right to get married? that's what I don't understand.
@ajuk1 For your info , Marriage is not a Government Operation of any kind. Marriage was a Religious Operation, bought, Dreamed up, and totally is a Religious Union. No Government ever controlled Marriage without stepping over Religion to control it. Marrage comes from the Holy Bible and no government ever laid claim to inventing it. Marriage is defined in the Holy Bible 6,000 years ago before the Word Government was ever invented to define a bunch of people.
@turtle4aire It does not matter who invented marriage, this is about the right to be with the person you love and be protected by laws, just because of the fact that gay people are citizens too. They pay taxes and deserve to protect their couples and for that they need rights. Especially for binational couples, if there weren't many legal issues for any type of couples nowadays it would be ok, but it is better when both parts are protected.
@jalbroven91 And on paper, it could work. If we legally give civil unions all the rights of marriage, then people would only be able to discriminate privately (which they already do).
Sad this speech of Barak is. Gays and lesbians just need to meet Jesus..One thing is i wont trade the Lord almighty's name for some thing like this..i just cant take his name in vain..EVEN IF I WERE THE PRESIDENT!!!
The Great Rapture is Coming...Stop-Look-listen. Gather in your faith of Our Lord Jesus and Praise his holy name. Those whom are the body of Christ will be spared the 7 year tribulation on earth. Many whom are left will then proclaim Jesus as thier savior and millions will be saved on His return (The day of the Lord) and the wicked will be cast out. It will be Heaven on earth with Jesus for a thousand years...Praise his Holy Name..read his words..he is almost here....
Obscure passage in Romans?! What kind of faith DO you have, President Obama? Nowhere in the Bible does it say you can believe a specific portion, and homosexuality was also condemned in Leviticus, Genesis and other books of the Old Testament as well as the NT. No passage of the Bible is "obscure" or "insignificant." John 1:1.
Hes not killing babies. Hes probrbly more christ ian then you because real christ ians don't FORCE desicions on people, they educate, then let others decide for themselfs. The way god intended
Kinda like obama is forcing people to be on obamacare,i guess that proves he is NOT a christian. If he was christian he would let us not be FORCED onto this plan.
Who gives a shit if hes Christ ian or Muslem or whatever is he trying to do good? does he want to Improve? All I'm saying is don't judge others. "Hes not a Chris tian!" Thats none of your business and only for him to deside
deside? and its decide,and also its muslim not muslem,then he should not judge cops until he also has the facts he acted very stupidly but i dont think he can help it
What the fuck are we talking about religion, abortion, gay rights... stick to one subject. Also your gonna have to come up with something better then "Obama says so" to convince me that taking away freedom from any minority is right
lol temper temper,well obama says marriage is a man and a woman,get used to it,he wants to deny you the right to gay marriage,but you can still have your cival unions,deal with it
Obama is for gay Marriage but one step at a time. He spoke for 20 min at the Gay, Lesbein, Transexual, conference (not a joke) attended by many gov officals about fighting for their rights till the end. so DEAL WITH IT duh u u u u u
He says that bullshit so he keeps most of america on his side. You want a link were he is pasionatly speaking in favor of gay rights? So witch one am I supossed to believe, your link or my link? He's a Democrat Wake up Nicole! WHOS HOUSE.....? KONSTANTINES HOUSE, WHA WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!
Although Barack Obama has said that he supports civil unions, he is against gay marriage. In an interview with the Chicago Daily Tribune, Obama said, "I'm a Christian. And so, although I try not to have my religious beliefs dominate or determine my political views on this issue, I do believe that tradition, and my religious beliefs say that marriage is something sanctified between a man and a woman."
Is that all you got "uh your mom, uh your dad" Let me tell you why its better in your ass, cause you let Bill O'Riley, Glen Beck, and, Rush Limbah stick it in your cunt so much, your pussy's like The Grand Canyon
I read your bio. Pretty strong. I'm not gonna put down republicans because America needs them, but be careful. The strong views and judgements you put on liberals are the same judgments liberals have on republicans. Very few liberals are low life welfare lazies, and very few republicans are religious war hungry fanatics. Thoes view points are the easy way out. Rise above that. look at all sides, that will help you be more excepting and make you better at debating. Keep on movin young one
You must be smoking something or drinking to think that most of people on welfare are not liberals. Learn some facts oh naive one. Its the liberals who keep blacks held down,keeping them depending on them instead of trying to rise above it. Your naiveness is just an excuse of laziness. When you grow up and do some research come back and try at debating again.
"You must be smoking something or drinking to think that most of people on welfare are not liberals." I don't smoke anything and thoes are your thoughts, not mine.
"Its the liberals who keep blacks held down" Were'd you learn that? Their are just as many minorities on welfare, whites included, that take advantage of the system. On the other end their are just as many rich in power that take the same advantage. Careful how you put things thats a very raciest remark,
@usmc1990pa That guy is right, you know, politics are like wrestling(just for show) on top of that, google considers "gonna" a word, so if you think that spelling matters, then loose your youtube account.
Raciest remarks can be a sign of (AH!) "Naiveness" (is that a word?) Now this 29 year old grad student with a masters in accounting and a Bacholers in Sociology that makes over 45k a year does know a thing or two. I wasn't trying to insult you, your 19. I was 19 too. Try not to be so strong for one party. You become a cheerleader for it instead of an intellectual. Not that you are, just watch out for that.

Listen don't correct my spelling you'll get sore fingers. Your right maybe I have "Naiveness" lol. If I corrected your comp. I'd be here all day. All bashing me does is loose my interest and shows your age. If you ever have a valid point to argue look me up. Best of luck to you.
Listen go back to school and try to learn correct spelling then come back and try to debate,i know its hard for you right now as you have proved how little you know. Your basic lack of correct grammar and spelling shows your age and stupidity.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
(why do I entertain you) I type fast and I could care less how my spelling comes out on youtube. Anyway back a few comments ago you battled my argument about your stereo types by attacking my spelling? Then when I say "ok you win have a nice life." You come back at me with the same critisism I gave you? "Your basic lack of correct grammar and spelling shows your age" Be careful not to use my own points against me, but before that try STICKING TO A SUBJECT
You are just angry someone pointed out how childish your "remarks" are. So try knowing that Obama in his remarks also stated he is against gay marriage.
You have shown in many ways how naive you are,nice excuse(the typing fast one) when you learn how to debate come back until then stick to going back to school.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Who's angry? "So try knowing that Obama in his remarks also stated he is against gay marriage." That a girl, you RAISED A POINT. Good for you! I'm proud of you! He may be against it, or may not be, who knows? His speech changes depending on his audiance. I don't think it matters. We already have 5 states aproving on Gay Marrige and no matter how states flip flop it's only a matter of time before all 50 will give in. The biggest reason is alowing anybody to marry bring in money for the states.
When you type in CAPS you are angry,he is against it,he says so himself maybe you need to clean your ears out to hear it. Those 5 states are also up to change it back,if California can any state can. The biggest reason people are against it is because its not in the constitution. Now you are finally able to put a sentence together,that a little boy.
inbread? LMAO and you claim to be an adult,yeah right kid,mommy didn't give you a lap dance last night is that why you're so stupid? nigger trash right?
@jalbroven91 hey inbred retard obama doesn't believe in gay marriage and there is NOTHING you can do about it lol,you dont like him because he is black you are a racist,so go fuck your mom again faggot
@nicolemanning16 I never said that I didn't like Obama. I think he's a decent person and an ok president. I am not racist against any race. I am much more intelligent than you and am certainly not inbred. Who said I was trying to change the way Obama feels about gay marriage? He has the right to be wrong just like you. As far as fucking goes, your mom is the finest fuck around. Tell her I'll be late for dinner though.
@jalbroven91 you are racist against obama cause he is black and he doesn't believe in gay marriage lol,keep telling yourself how smart you are,or is that your inbred mommy telling you that? he is right and you are wrong and there is NOTHING you can do about it except whine and cry home to mommy,tell your mom that she should not of fucked her brother,but then again you would not of been here if she hadn't though lol.

God. If Jesus were alive today, the gay community would the the first community he would reach out to, for they have been the ones who have been outcasts for thousands of years. Sorry, the Jesus I believe in was never on the side of the bullies.

Here's the so called """OBSCURE"" ( not prominent) passage in Romans..
Romans 1:26-27
King James Version (KJV)

Seems to me that it's saying that bumping uglies with another man is not a get out of jail free card in fucking around on your wife not that the act , itself, is wrong.
thegirl44 1 year ago
@thegirl44
That passage in Leviticus is either saying, depending on your interpretation, that practicing homosexuals should be put to death OR that adulterers should be put to death, which either way is moronic. But for those skeptics, the bible took the trouble to also denounce homos in Kings Romans and I think Corinthians. Either way, it's a very old, outdated book wih outdated morals for an outdated culture, and we as a society would do well not to listen to it anymore.
philippides 1 year ago
@thegirl44
Christopher Hitchens once said that the high points of Christianity had been gleaned by other cultures and faiths well before Christianity's birth, and the low points of Christianity- all the genocide and polygamy and slavery and other ancient, provincial proclamations by that barbaric book- are reason enough themselves to want to avoid them.
philippides 1 year ago
@philippides
Those who study the bible in the minutea that it is presented take it as the literal word of God, and that's inaccurate.
thegirl44 1 year ago
@spruntfemalespray

And as far as your comment, we can actually have children via various methods, surrogate motherhood for example, and we can adopt. Hundreds of thousands of children are sitting in orphanages right now, praying for a good home.

Actually, the costitution only separates CHURCH and state, it does not dismiss theology as a source.
thegirl44 1 year ago
@thegirl44 As a source for what? Theology should be a source for something in the political arena? The constitution certainly doesn't espouse theology in any sense either. You can be a pedant and toss platitudes, but the founding fathers abhorred the institution of Christianity. Perhaps our political system should work a little closer to home and champion some form of theological deism? Or perhaps we can discuss our politics over astrological "signs" as a "source". Ineffectual pedantry, sorry.
BrannonMcConkey 1 year ago
@BrannonMcConkey
They certainly didn't adopt the parallel Roman beliefs of advancement through murder.
thegirl44 1 year ago

Feel free to Google it.
thegirl44 1 year ago
@BrannonMcConkey
I'm content to think that what he was implying was, "If it ain't broke don't fix it" as opposed to taking any deep theological stand.
thegirl44 1 year ago
@thegirl44 "The government of the United States is in no sense founded on the Christian religion" - John Adams
"What have been Christianity's fruits? More or less in all places, pride and indolence in the Clergy, ignorance and servility in the laity; in both, superstition, bigotry, and persecution." - James Madison
"Lighthouses are more helpful than churches" - Ben Franklin

@thegirl44 ...of Christianity one redeeming feature. They are all alike founded on fables and mythology." - Thomas Jefferson
Christianity succeeded in spreading through the Roman Empire (which was contemporaneous with Christian teachings) because in Byzantium, emperor Constantine converted to Christianity (after a *vision* of a Xstian symbol, followed by a battle victory). Others then sought, for political and social acclimation, to convert.
It was indeed "broken". Thus the French Elightenment

@BrannonMcConkey
I'm sorry, but none of your platitudes debate the influence that Judeo-Christian theology have on our current political system.
thegirl44 1 year ago
@BrannonMcConkey
The smart man can take from theology that what works and disregard the rest and the US has done this since it's inception.
thegirl44 1 year ago
@thegirl44 Oh, please. We are destined for the hairdresser with all of these split hairs. Theology: the study of the nature of God and religious belief. Right there in the definition is "religious beliefs". I gave you direct quotes, i'm not sure how you are still arguing. Most of the founding fathers claimed Deist beliefs. This was their theology. THEOLOGY hasn't done a damn thing for US policy. The country has been bastardized and turned over into a "Christian nation". We all know what heads..
BrannonMcConkey 1 year ago
@BrannonMcConkey
Finally.
thegirl44 1 year ago
@thegirl44 ..of state preach: Christianity. Everyone knows this.
Theology isn't worth the salt of its supposed "discipline". A gardener or chef may as well be justified in this area. But neither gardeners nor chefs (nor theologians) are running this country. You seem to be everywhere with your "points". Try to stick to something. God (in any sense) has no place in public policy, bc everyone agrees which version of "God" is the correct one. And that is not good. Ever.
BrannonMcConkey 1 year ago

I'm not saying that you're not a smart guy, you are, I'd just rather discuss a subject where you can shine.
I'll begin, if you'd like: If Warren Haynes were God, and music his Gospel, how long do you think that it would take for us to acheive world peace? Who has more facial expression: Derrick Trucks or an Irish Setter dog? When Little Richard "God'd the gay" out of himself, how much would you say the music suffered?
Shit like that, y'know? Important things.

Keep on rockin' in the free world, Brannon.
thegirl44 1 year ago
@thegirl44 Well, what a lovely, misinformed, rambling, disjointed, passive-agressive riposte. As much as you tried for the "win" there, you just sounded sassy. Too bad. You were lost of this conversation before it started. I said the country has been bastardized into a Christian nation. Brush up on the reading. It was most clearly not founded on one. I DO enjoy those direct quotes! But alas, they seem to have no effect on those in ardent denial. At best, the FF were ambivalent to religion...
BrannonMcConkey 1 year ago
@BrannonMcConkey
And again you make your non argument:
The founding fathers weren't ambivilant to religion, they were against it and the power that it wields in the context of the new country that they were forming. They were not, however, ambivilant to THEOLOGY, looking at the basic tenets of faith and deciding what, if anything, was relevant.
That the US is still receptive to many of the tenets is what led to a "Christian Nation", bastardized or otherwise.
thegirl44 1 year ago
@thegirl44 I'm not sure where it mentions the merits of theology in public policy in the Constitution. Article 6 perhaps? No, no...definitely not that one. Since you made no point, i'll go fishing to help you along. What ARE the merits of theology in public policy? Please, indulge. Who has used such theology - in this general, ambiguous, hazy sense you keep throwing out (even though I defined it)? You are not a Christian, right? It is just theology that is incredibly useful, is that accurate?
BrannonMcConkey 1 year ago
@BrannonMcConkey
You'll have to show me where I argued the merits of theology in public policy to pose this question. Stating that something is so does not automatically align the poster with what is stated. Ideas that we have taken from Judeo-Christian theology have been as lacking of merit as they have held merit but they have always avoided the original intent of separating church and state: That the Church have no power.
thegirl44 1 year ago
@thegirl44 "The smart man can take from theology that what works and disregard the rest and the US has done this since it's inception" - you
Well that was easy. You are losing customers here! You are arguing for theology in public policy or you are arguing for theology in general. I don't think anyone knows which one at this point (including yourself). The church DOES have power. And the fact that I pay taxes to keep them in business and on location does not settle well with me.
BrannonMcConkey 1 year ago
@BrannonMcConkey
Sorry, that comment doesn't support the practice by any stretch of the imagination, it merely states what can be done and has been done, this is clear when you read it in the context of the whole paragraph as opposed to cherry picking one sentence.
Nowhere, at all, have I argued FOR theology in public policy, I have only shown that it doesn't fall under the idea of the separation of church and state as guaranteed by the constituation.
thegirl44 1 year ago
@thegirl44 Will theology offer some "faithful faithiness" to help pay those taxes? Will theology decide Islam is the true way and insert that into our daily policies? Theology....what exactly is your stand on theology? This is tiresome so I'm gonna need you to be specific.
BrannonMcConkey 1 year ago
@BrannonMcConkey
Theology can't decide anything, it's an idea, an abstract.
On the other hand, I've spent over 20 years working in Middle Asia and Africa where I have seen religious instituations and the men that represent them impliment theological laws on the public in a way that there is no hope of recourse other than outright rebellion.
I think that theology only has power when men apply that power to it, in it's natural state it can be as harmless as the idea of Utopia or Communism.
thegirl44 1 year ago
@thegirl44 So in the end, you don't know what you're trying to say. You had no point the entire time. You clearly started arguing for the abstract idea of theology (which subsumes religion in the very definition) in SOME sense. AND I quoted you. You have made plenty of snide remarks. Hypocritical AND nonsensical. You and your pal are in harsh denial. This is my last word here: Religion and theocracy never had any place, nor will they ever be an acceptable means of progress in public policy.
BrannonMcConkey 1 year ago
@BrannonMcConkey
Again, you make a non argument:
That your opinion that religion or theology have no place in public policy does not negate that they historically have had a place in it, my original point.

i have a question. what's to stop an all out takeover of america like whats happened to countries in the middle east with islam?
thepetsleashholder 1 year ago
@thepetsleashholder
I would hope the Constitution :).
If our laws are upheld, though, it won't happen.
thegirl44 1 year ago
@thepetsleashholder
In "church" history money swayed the monarchy to work in the interest of the church the church didn't directly govern.
thegirl44 1 year ago
@thepetsleashholder
Democracy isn't a perfect philosophy, especially when put into practice, but it's what we've got...
thegirl44 1 year ago
@thepetsleashholder

Gay marriage is just a word, they need to bring in civil unions at a federal level that give gay couples all the rights of married couples.
ajuk1 2 years ago
@ajuk1 For your info , Marriage is not a Government Operation of any kind. Marriage was a Religious Operation, bought, Dreamed up, and totally is a Religious Union. No Government ever controlled Marriage without stepping over Religion to control it. Marrage comes from the Holy Bible and no government ever laid claim to inventing it. Marriage is defined in the Holy Bible 6,000 years ago before the Word Government was ever invented to define a bunch of people.
turtle4aire 1 year ago
@turtle4aire It does not matter who invented marriage, this is about the right to be with the person you love and be protected by laws, just because of the fact that gay people are citizens too. They pay taxes and deserve to protect their couples and for that they need rights. Especially for binational couples, if there weren't many legal issues for any type of couples nowadays it would be ok, but it is better when both parts are protected.

Hes not killing babies. Hes probrbly more christ ian then you because real christ ians don't FORCE desicions on people, they educate, then let others decide for themselfs. The way god intended
Konstantin1234 2 years ago
Kinda like obama is forcing people to be on obamacare,i guess that proves he is NOT a christian. If he was christian he would let us not be FORCED onto this plan.
nicolemanning16 2 years ago
Who gives a shit if hes Christ ian or Muslem or whatever is he trying to do good? does he want to Improve? All I'm saying is don't judge others. "Hes not a Chris tian!" Thats none of your business and only for him to deside
Konstantin1234 2 years ago
deside? and its decide,and also its muslim not muslem,then he should not judge cops until he also has the facts he acted very stupidly but i dont think he can help it
nicolemanning16 2 years ago

Konstantin1234 2 years ago

nicolemanning16 2 years ago
What the fuck are we talking about religion, abortion, gay rights... stick to one subject. Also your gonna have to come up with something better then "Obama says so" to convince me that taking away freedom from any minority is right
Konstantin1234 2 years ago
lol temper temper,well obama says marriage is a man and a woman,get used to it,he wants to deny you the right to gay marriage,but you can still have your cival unions,deal with it
nicolemanning16 2 years ago
Obama is for gay Marriage but one step at a time. He spoke for 20 min at the Gay, Lesbein, Transexual, conference (not a joke) attended by many gov officals about fighting for their rights till the end. so DEAL WITH IT duh u u u u u
Konstantin1234 2 years ago

usmc1990pa 2 years ago

Konstantin1234 2 years ago

OBAMA does NOT SUPPORT YOU MARRYING YOUR BOYRIEND lol
you just got owned
nicolemanning16 2 years ago
Barack Obama and Gay Marriage/ Civil Unions:
Although Barack Obama has said that he supports civil unions, he is against gay marriage. In an interview with the Chicago Daily Tribune, Obama said, "I'm a Christian. And so, although I try not to have my religious beliefs dominate or determine my political views on this issue, I do believe that tradition, and my religious beliefs say that marriage is something sanctified between a man and a woman."

usmc1990pa 2 years ago
I read your bio. Pretty strong. I'm not gonna put down republicans because America needs them, but be careful. The strong views and judgements you put on liberals are the same judgments liberals have on republicans. Very few liberals are low life welfare lazies, and very few republicans are religious war hungry fanatics. Thoes view points are the easy way out. Rise above that. look at all sides, that will help you be more excepting and make you better at debating. Keep on movin young one
Konstantin1234 2 years ago
You must be smoking something or drinking to think that most of people on welfare are not liberals. Learn some facts oh naive one. Its the liberals who keep blacks held down,keeping them depending on them instead of trying to rise above it. Your naiveness is just an excuse of laziness. When you grow up and do some research come back and try at debating again.
usmc1990pa 2 years ago
"You must be smoking something or drinking to think that most of people on welfare are not liberals." I don't smoke anything and thoes are your thoughts, not mine.
"Its the liberals who keep blacks held down" Were'd you learn that? Their are just as many minorities on welfare, whites included, that take advantage of the system. On the other end their are just as many rich in power that take the same advantage. Careful how you put things thats a very raciest remark,
Konstantin1234 2 years ago
Were'd?
Its W H E R E,where did you go to college grad student,dumbass college?
and its T h e r e,not their graddy
Careful how you spell it shows your lack of intelligence all the time.
and its also T H O S E not thoes even a 10 year old knows the difference.
29 and still in the 2nd grade spelling level,sad.
usmc1990pa 2 years ago
@usmc1990pa That guy is right, you know, politics are like wrestling(just for show) on top of that, google considers "gonna" a word, so if you think that spelling matters, then loose your youtube account.
x00czar00x 1 year ago
@x00czar00x slit your wrist faggot
nicolemanning16 1 year ago
Raciest remarks can be a sign of (AH!) "Naiveness" (is that a word?) Now this 29 year old grad student with a masters in accounting and a Bacholers in Sociology that makes over 45k a year does know a thing or two. I wasn't trying to insult you, your 19. I was 19 too. Try not to be so strong for one party. You become a cheerleader for it instead of an intellectual. Not that you are, just watch out for that.
Konstantin1234 2 years ago
Google is kid,sure you are a 29 year old grad student who can't spell simple words,keep telling yourself that ha.
There is a difference between your and You're grad student ha. You become a simpleton and yes you are,so watch out for that sometime.

Listen don't correct my spelling you'll get sore fingers. Your right maybe I have "Naiveness" lol. If I corrected your comp. I'd be here all day. All bashing me does is loose my interest and shows your age. If you ever have a valid point to argue look me up. Best of luck to you.
Konstantin1234 2 years ago
Listen go back to school and try to learn correct spelling then come back and try to debate,i know its hard for you right now as you have proved how little you know. Your basic lack of correct grammar and spelling shows your age and stupidity.

Konstantin1234 2 years ago
You are just angry someone pointed out how childish your "remarks" are. So try knowing that Obama in his remarks also stated he is against gay marriage.
You have shown in many ways how naive you are,nice excuse(the typing fast one) when you learn how to debate come back until then stick to going back to school.

Konstantin1234 2 years ago
When you type in CAPS you are angry,he is against it,he says so himself maybe you need to clean your ears out to hear it. Those 5 states are also up to change it back,if California can any state can. The biggest reason people are against it is because its not in the constitution. Now you are finally able to put a sentence together,that a little boy.

Tell her I'll be late for dinner though.
jalbroven91 1 year ago
