I've been tryna remmeber the name of this track forever, trawled through you tube looking for it. so glad it's here. Absolutely was blown away back then with canibus' lyrics and delivery and it still holds up.
Man this reminds me of when I first got my DL and me and my brother would drive around in my dads nissan pickup with the windows down bumpin this on repeat.
the buchannans sampled it.. jay doesnt make beats.. stuff like that happens all the time... this sample was also used by biggie and tracy lee on a song called keep your hands high..
Am sorry but canibus is a better lyricist than ll cool j. The only thing he lacks is the longevity and fame that cool j obviously has over him.just listening to "the great deception" from canibus. He smaashed it man.brrrap
cause i be in the crowd, if u aint controlling it. i'm the illest lyricist in america, mcees can't see me cause i'm to quick for the human retina to register. yall can keep comparing this man but there's nobody to compare him to. that means he's the best ever. right?
He was also the star in the Matrix. Get it? You've seen his speed in the matrix...the dude could dodge bullets. So, if Bis is moving fast enough to confuse Keanu...just how fast is he moving? Very fucking fast is what!
@VenVile This statement makes sense and all, but there's one flaw in it. "How We Roll" came out in the '90s and the Matrix trilogy came out in the 2000s. Canibus couldn't have been referring to it b/c it didn't exist then.
@tonyGjr2 I wrote that a good minute ago, but you're one hundred percent right. He was actually referring to Keanu's role in Speed, which came out in 94 I believe.
@VenVile Problem is that he also referred to the Matrix. Specifically, he talk about dodging bullets in the Matrx, but I just realized I was correcting someone on Youtube, which is something I try not to do, b/c I think it comes off as a little snobbish. As such, I will endeavor not to do so in the future.
@VenVile Eh, I was about 95% right. As @eman198 said, the first Matrix movie was released in 1999; five years later than Speed. But anyway, I'm going to lay off the correcting deal, because as said before I feel it makes me feel a tad bit snobbish.
