Chris Broderick signature Jackson soloist 1st review

For anyone thats wanting to know. Talked to Jackson today and found out that they won't have the 12" radius seven string bridges from floyd rose till may. So I wouldn't expect any of these seven string guitars to actually be sold till then. Although, it's totally worth the wait..

How do you like the trans black? I am going to be buying a seven string in either trans black or trans red. Since I already own a six string trans white! What happened to the bridge issue? Thanks

@iGuitarGuru .. Honestly, if I would have had the choice, I probably would have chosen the white. But I'm glad things turned out the way they did. I have really fallen in love with the trans black.. None of the pictures I've seen do the guitars any justice.. If you have a trans white guitar already, you probably know what I mean. Although I must say, I don't care for the red.. And I have seen it in person. I can send you some high res pics of the trans blk if that would help.

@iGuitarGuru.. As far as the bridge: Jackson and Chris are aware of the problem and things are being sorted out right now. I'm still waiting to hear back from Chris on the final resolution, but Ive been told that they are working on it. Now that mine is set up a little better, I dont seem to notice the problem as much. So knowing that that will be addressed before you can get one, I would totally recomed this guitar to anyone looking for a seven string. Expencive, but worth every penny..

@rpr154 Oh yes I agree! I love my 6 in trans white. I figured I would ask you since you have the trans black how you liked it. I am know Chris and he even said trans black. Just needed to be sure. for the Chris Broderick guitar they're Dimarzio signature series pickups he got called the fundamentals or something odd like that. As it just says "Chris Broderick designed pickups right now, but i saw something nerdy like fundementals somewhere.

One of my friends has a 7 string and he'd agree with you EMGs are bland and boring unless you got something to reduce the picking noise, luckily switching to blackouts is very easy, no wire solders just disconnect the old ones , connect the new.

@ziggy72170.. Havn't played a Washburn electric in many years.. although I do have a Washburn acoustic.. I checked out the guitar you were talking about on line..I'm sure its great, although I dont care for bolt on necks, and I have to have 24 frets.. I like that they do alot more natural finishes.. Too much paint or too muck clear coat does tend to kill your tone a bit..

@fru1tbooter14 ..wasn't easy.. Chris and Dave did 6 guitar clinics around the U.S. in october.. Each location that they did the clinic was given 1 six string and one seven to sell.. Needless to say, they got bought up pretty quick.. I have a video of the 2 of them playing Symphony of destruction on my channel.. If you watch that, you can see my guitar on stage right between Chris and Dave.. Talked to a guy that had preordered one in october from Jackson.... They told him Six months....

How are the necks compared to each other? Which one is thinner?

@juiceabuser ...the loomis guitar is 22mm @ the 12th fret, the jackson is 20mm @ the 12th.. The biggest difference is, the Loomis guitar is a set neck, so it doesn't have as deep of a heel cut on the back of the neck.. Meaning that it starts to get thicker, or starts to blending into the body sooner... The loomis guitar starts getting thicker from around the 16th fret.. The Chris Broderick guitar not till around the 19th... combined with the better cutaway it is easier to play up high..

i had a guitar with no fret markers so i decided to buy some skull and cross bones stickers with some scissors i made them fret markers. Try it

@JoJoQwenty I've had it for a couple weeks now and I've gotten used to it, for the most part.. Now it only gives me trouble descending through the higher fretts. I like the idea of the stickers.. If i can't continue improving, I may try that..
