  • I bet everyone in this video had a dog who has died. I can just sense the canine pain etched on their faces.

  • @GREENHOFFS

Pat Crerand says it's the pain of watching Leeds in the Championship that has the Donegal people unhappy.

Time they where back up in the Premier League!

  • Was in Letterkenney in 1979 for the Marathon, remember a place called Captain America's which was a real step up from the standard Wimpy Burger fare usually on offer in those days for low budget touristas like myself.

  • Great Stuff..Good Quality Of Film Who Made This ? Any More Bits?

  • @DorbyDog

This is just an edit I made of "Letterkenny - Portrait of an Irish Town" which is posted here on YouTube in 4 parts.

  • 36 yrs ago Luke??? FAUGHHHH! (The NEW Golden Grill.....love it) This minds me too thyat Horslips gave me an extra interest in acoustic irish music. Good one hi.! D.

  • @DamianNixon

Yes indeed, Horslips brought traditional music to the forefront in the 1970's.

You should cover one of their acoustic pieces Damian, say, "The Best Years of My Life", Rescue me" or something off the "Aliens" album ( some great lyrical songs on that one)

  • @lukessummer Good idea sir. (Must see if if I've a pair of denim skinners in the attic, as well ;-)

  • letterkenny might have been a bit messier but it was alot freindlier in the 60s and 70s..unfortunately it has lost its soul

  • @shyboyzzzzz

    unfortunately...you are right.

  • @shyboyzzzzz Just spent 3 weeks in your beautiful country...Most of it in Letterkenny....people seemed to be very proud of their houses and yards..flowers every where. Cool place mate ...

  • It's a great little film

  • @Paulmanorbier

Notice Raineys at 0:37 back in the day when people actually gave a gift as a wedding present. Nowadays it's hard currency or gold bullion...

    How times have changed.

  • I didn't think 1975 was so long ago

  • Great footage of a bygone era :)

I remember being there that year in the summer for the folk festival.
