You're correct re. sweeping generalizations, however, as an atheist it is easy for me to say that anyone promoting religion is a liar, and given the tendency toward acquiring wealth via one's position as a leader of a religion I'm still inclined to say that religious leaders are greedy liars.
They may do some good helping the poor or the sick, but otherwise I find their behavior exclusionary and judgmental as well as greedy and untruthful.

@nasticanasta If God wanted to make a perfect being capable of love, He could do just that. Your humanity does not make you perfectly loveable but God loves anyway. He made angels that do not sin but have great responsibility. You reiterated my point about love. By allowing (not causing) bad things, he also allows us to love freely. Nothing was bad for Adam except his loneliness and by all accounts it seems as if there was love before the fall when comunion with God was full.

What a silly question. I'm not a christian, although I used to be, and I have read the bible several times since I stopped believing. It is one of the most influential books in history and belief in it dominates the culture we live in, of course we're going to read it.
I've also read the Qur'an and the Bhagvad Gita, and as many books as I can get my hands on to understand what influences the world we live in.

There are plenty of great Ministers and Pastors... they rarely are on TV or heard about. So don't generalize..that's a faulty way to think... You're correct re. sweeping generalizations, however, as an atheist it is easy for me to say that anyone promoting religion is a liar, and given the tendency toward acquiring wealth via one's position as a leader of a religion I'm still inclined to say that religious leaders are greedy liars.
They may do some good helping the poor or the sick, but otherwise I find their behavior exclusionary and judgmental as well as greedy and untruthful.

Had He not intervened, I would be self important and probably suggest others humble themselves to others. True, if God wanted to disallow our sin He would. A command that comes before would be I am no better. I do not have a right to involve myself in whther the lord loves someone. @nasticanasta If God wanted to make a perfect being capable of love, He could do just that. Your humanity does not make you perfectly loveable but God loves anyway. He made angels that do not sin but have great responsibility. You reiterated my point about love. By allowing (not causing) bad things, he also allows us to love freely. Nothing was bad for Adam except his loneliness and by all accounts it seems as if there was love before the fall when comunion with God was full.

There is no truth to this lie and it is being used by the devil. Rick is a humble man of God and does more to feed the needy, provide for the sick and invite all thoes who are hurting to fellowship. He does not take a salary and gives 91 % of all he earns from his books to the cause of salvation. If you sat for a sermon and saw the actual man you would realize he is being used mightly by God. I pray that the Lord can change your heart so that you will not be held accountable for your sin.

As for the second occasion, I don't think an interview where he gives HIS opinion constitutes him being less than oblivious on the result of a vote. And the context in which he equates Gay marriage to Incestual Marriage & a Man marrying a child is to do with measuring their merit as a marriage, not measuring them against each other.

What a silly question. I'm not a christian, although I used to be, and I have read the bible several times since I stopped believing. It is one of the most influential books in history and belief in it dominates the culture we live in, of course we're going to read it.
I've also read the Qur'an and the Bhagvad Gita, and as many books as I can get my hands on to understand what influences the world we live in.

So you may have been a professing Christian but there is a difference between a professing Christian and a regenerate Christian. Now if you have read the Bible several times you would know this.

Scott, I think you need to Google "true Scotsman fallacy." They believe Jesus is god, you believe Jesus is god, and who interprets the Bible correctly is just a matter of opinion. If the Bible were easy to interpret, there would not be so many different kinds of Christians.

It says homosexuality is an abomination in the eyes of God. Which means its a sin. God still loves them but not there sin. Homosexuality is no worse than lying, stealing, murder, and among other detestable acts. Sin is sin in the eyes of God and all sin must be repented to receive His salvation through the blood of Jesus Christ. Sin can not be watered down for example white lies. It's still a lie and it is still a sin

one thing i caught onto many years ago is don't ever attend a church that tells you how to vote and who to vote for - if the church doesn't preach repentance and adopting the ways of christ, you're better off without going to church at all. just stay in the word - NOT THE MESSAGE book that this scum bag preaches from - but the BIBLE - and let the lord break you into a contrite heart that matches his ways and mold into his ways and character in all that you do.

Let the government grant Civil Unions and let individual churches decide whether they'll restrict Catholics from marrying Protestants, women from marrying women, or blacks from marrying whites. @ThePsalm40 Will be looking at that other website. The one thing is, they all believe in a dispensational viewpoint(rapture-pre mil pre wrath rapture). That is where I am a bit confused because most dispies would shun dominion theology. There are some books on this though-it is called, The Family. He did a fair job on that but the second book is a bit more over the edge.
