Wait, you played this O.o?? Hmm, I guess it kinda sounds that way... but I just didn't think that till I saw the top comment. Cool song but it's kinda creepy ^,^
Played crash cymbals on this freshman year. I remember I belched extremely loud at 4:07 where there was silence and some how only the band director and the kid next to me heard. Priceless
I've heard this piece in San Francisco in the Heritage Trip. I've never played this piece before, but the band that played this piece sucked. Now it's just nostalgia.
I loved playing this song! I know that my high school band could have definitely played it better, because we have some balance issues, but that doesn't mean that this wasn't a hell of a fun song to play. We had our drummers stand out in the audience to get that far away sound of the army coming closer. It was a blast!
@JFroTheMusician My music teacher knew I was looking for one and helped me hunt one down. And unfortunately no, he did not actually write a bass sax part, but the bass sax can also play tenor parts. So that is what I was playing. (: Still fun nonetheless.
this is so much different then his chior music im playing 1st horn on this and i thought it was rather odd because Frank Ticheli's choir musci is very beautiful no random things going on atleast in the 2 songs i sang, earth song and shenandoah
@JeremyManx For real man. "My band played this and we played it better than your band did blah blah blah." Every youtube video of a band piece. I can assure all of you that you didn't sound as good as you think you did.
All dedicated musicians are amazing. On different levels, certainly, but as musicians, we like to brag. It's kind of hard not to, after putting so much time into learning such an art - the finest there is. :)
Played it when i was in 7th gradeee! Im a percussionist!! :D and i played tamborine and suspended cymbal (1:50 &4:00)!! very important i think since i got like a solo for the tamborine at 2:20!! :D haha and i got 3rd chair in high school as a freshman year out of 6 other people.
@alllisonmariee I totally agree, he is a genius. :) I played horn for this song, though I played it in my university's campus band, a band with a whole bunch of music majors who were playing secondary instruments.
@alllisonmariee I also played this in 8th grade, but played as a euphonium t.c., I love pieces like this where you get to hear each intrument individualy!
im now a Junior...i played 2nd clarinet on this during my sophomore year....AHHH memories! Once a Blue Devil, Always a Blue Devil!! GO CLAY HIGH BLUE DEVILS IN GREEN COVE SPRINGS, FLORIDA xD
