@TheRev116 I didn't have to pay because it was still in warranty and I just had to take it back and they gave me an updated lite-on drive version

If you want you could fix it by replacing the thermal paste on the two cpus and pulling the fan and overheating the xbox. Turn it off and it will work if you did it right.

yaa i was playing resident evil 5 when this happened. i thought it was a filter where u can change ur gameplay picture but it wasnt so i reset it and got it. then turned it off. then back on and it works except it still shows black dots........ i only had it for 8-9 months

This just happened on Friday the 13th! Ironic huh? And then I have to pay 100$ for it because the warranty went out in December! WTF. I bought the elite to escape the RROD but looks like I got it somehow.

I have the exact same problem, I got the black lines and dots playing COD4 off my hard drive, happened exactly as you said.

how old is yours mine was only 10 months and alot of people have said that they got it while playing COD4
