  • The Huntley-Brinkley Report.

  • where's the part 2 of this?

  • Beautiful music, Beautiful. Beethoven, my friend, thanks for this music .

  • this music one packed bong and endless adventures.

  • People these days cannot respect the bliss of beethoven's work, and they remixed it and turned it into some inferno crap, the orginal is the best, hail beethoven. this piece is one of my favourites.

  • Hey , i'm Alex , droogies and me drinking some moloko+ , and we listening Ludwig Van .

  • Oh bliss! Bliss and heaven! Oh, it was gorgeousness and gorgeousity made flesh. It was like a bird of rarest-spun heaven metal or like silvery wine flowing in a spaceship, gravity all nonsense now. As I slooshied, I knew such lovely pictures!

  • One of the best musical compositions ever made.

  • EPIC!!! Beethoven is LEGEND!

  • @alger1972 with ur droogs?

  • @pudo3792 Viddy well

  • @alger1972 bit o' the ol' moloko plus eh?

  • 4 people really SUCK :D

  • I enjoyed the "fake" conducting Kevin Kline (Nathan) did to the finale in Sophies Choice

  • I still can't belive Im actually able to HEADBANG to this song... i LOVE it

  • I can't get the image of dancing naked jesuses out of my head thanks to Clockwork, heh.

  • Tolstoy, eat your heart out.

  • those 4 dislikes come from beethoven himself cos only he knows how this can be conducted better

  • both my favourite and most despised "songs" of classical music are in beethovens 9th symphony. while the ode to joy makes me puke, this piece of art brings me to catharsis and gvs me goosebumps..

  • @MyLovelyHomicide while alot of people would criticize you for saying the 4th mvt makes you puke, its ok. Beethoven himself later said he was not happy with the final result of the "to joy" and wanted to re-work it. he had been working for almost 15 years to set that poem to music and was never satisfied with any of the results, even though the 4th mvt of the 9th symphony is considered his crowning achievement

  • @Doug19752533 yes yes. of course. but i hate it for a personal reason: its the european unions anthem and ive been in a european school for years and both my parents work for the EU. so im already sick of it. lol. and also dislike how it is an easy to remember melody in comparisson to this part.

  • Rejoice.

  • You can't beat a bit of Ludwig Van

  • Alex delarge didnt bring me here, the gods did...

  • The musical work is completed by the executor, whose competence it the delicate part of the soul !

  • Oh bliss!

  • Who the fuck disliked this??

  • @TheDylan626

I just did, thanks to you.

  • @azaznator haha good

  • @TheDylan626 4 deaf people.

  • @pray4information then they're ignorant fucks, the man who wrote this piece was deaf.

  • @cactusjack901 he still had good taste XD

  • thumbs up if you've watched a clockwork orange

  • @wakaboomnick when i hear this song very carefully one dark side of me comes out and my head starts to think bad things , holly clockwork orange, masterpiece !

  • @wakaboomnick why else would you look this up?

  • @wakaboomnick Welly welly welly well, we watched oh my brother ; ).

  • @wakaboomnick I'm sorry, to the date i haven't seen a clockwork orange; I did watch a movie called A Clockwork Orange, but haven't seen a clockwork orange.

  • the three people that disliked this were deaf

  • @whowiseedet

was one of them Beethoven? :D

  • @whowiseedet As was the person who wrote the piece :)

  • Alex Delarge has great taste.

  • Oh bliss! Bliss and heaven! Oh, it was gorgeousness and gorgeousity made flesh. It was like a bird of rarest-spun heaven metal or like silvery wine flowing in a spaceship, gravity all nonsense now. As I slooshied, I knew such lovely pictures!

  • Fabulous. Far out. Top Hole. Capitol. Super Dooper and Generally Groovy.

  • anyone else slooshying?

  • @indigoDroog Oh yes indeed, My Brother.

  • What must cross one's mind when to create something so breathtaking, so brilliant? The fact that even one human being has a soul of sufficient grandeur to create something this astonishing gives me hope yet for humanity. But then I realize that for many years nothing of this capacity has been conceived. Contemporary music is saturated with capitalist flop and waste.

  • @stp52x naa, there are some EPIC songs, the thing is that the music has changed wether we like it or not ^_^

  • @stp52x Have faith. It'll be back. I don't know how but I'm not going to give up on it.

  • Im not an advertiser or anything, but the best version of this song Ive heard is the wiener philharmonika/ Sir simon rattle version of symphony no.9..... just saying ;)

  • Just a quick question for those more knowledgeable about period instruments. When they say that what instruments are different or are they just using different tunings?

  • hippity, hoppity, hippity, hoppity, hippity, hoppity, hippity, hoppity, ...!

    :-)

  • oh my brother, real horrorshow.

  • Beethoven's timpani rolls in HD is fookin epic!

  • who dislikes this music ?!

  • "I was cured all right"

  • @madmanmemo "as i slooshied, i knew such lovely pictures."

  • @madmanmemo one of my favorite movies

  • @jonah12321

Conductors take liberties with speed . . . this sounds perfect to me, maybe a tiny bit faster than, ?? Can't think of a specific version. Must research.

  • notice the heartbeat pattern, he was a genius.

  • Comment removed

  • @katerinalikesvideos first off, im not stupid, i play music, and i am very good at it, I won't wave my achievements at u, but i did not SEE that it said that, only reason i didnt know

  • @jonah12321 i didn't imply that you knew nothing about music, i'm sure you do. i called you stupid because the title of the video says "period instruments". maybe calling you 'not the most observant person' would've been more accurate

  • Beethoven along with Shakespeare and Michelangelo form, what I like to call the secular trinity. A sort of threefold God!

  • eargasm

  • I think I have this particular performance of the ninth on CD...

  • Anyone else expect to hear after the first 5 seconds 'Good evening, I'm Keith Olbermann'?

  • the first 6 seconds are my favorite. just the way the drums come in is indescribable.

  • a 2 boludos no les gusta jaja

  • "as i slooshied, i knew such lovely pictures."

  • 2 people who dont understand perfection when they hear it

  • Is this his greatest work? discuss. I say yes. By some measure

  • @ZEROTHEHERO1960 there is nothing to discuss... everyone agrees :)

  • 2 people sneezed when they were rating. don't hate on them, it had to be a mistake. they probably sneezed.

  • @ohbabyohbaby13o489

Yeah you're right, Two weeks later and no one rated it down XD

  • You know you have good, balanced speakers in your car, when you can hear all the parts including cello, horns and bassoon. ;-)

  • Oh bliss! Bliss and heaven! Oh, it was gorgeousness and gorgeousity made flesh. It was like a bird of rarest-spun heaven metal or like silvery wine flowing in a spaceship, gravity all nonsense now. As I slooshied, I knew such lovely pictures!

  • @HAL9000unit Yes, we've all seen Clockwork Orange, smart arse. No need to quote it on every Beethoven video...

  • @HAL9000unit Really??? Ok you dont have to be high to enjoy good music, but i understands it helps.

  • @allpainppd I wouldn't know, I've never done drugs. Unless you count Tchaikovsky.

  • thanks

  • thank god for the HD, how classical HAS to be.

  • @Calvinios Thank GOD

  • @Calvinios Thank GOD

  • OMG! On performances for period instruments the tempo is actually right!

  • This sounds amazing.

By far the best audio of this song on tube.

  • @ZombieCyclops Yes it's beautiful and wonderful. But it's not a song. A song is a short poem or set of words set to music to be sung. This is a movement of a symphony.

  • @ZombieCyclops not SONG! Symphonical movement :)

  • @ttomace Fuck you for being the twelve billionth person to tell me that. :)

  • @ZombieCyclops BABY!~

  • Truly wonderful concert!!!

    Gaby.

  • Hooray, you are back, MozP! And what a corker! The timpani in the opening bars are very impressive.

  • How eerie...I was just searching for an HIP of the 9th, and you've just uploaded it less than 10 minutes ago. The only period version I've heard in full is the Hogwood from the '80s.

    Thanks for posting!
