While it's important not to disrespect a masterful work such as this by singling out bits of it particularly, the Second Movement of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony is undoubtedly one of my favourite pieces of all time.
Beethoven was a fantastic composer, and a testament to the creativity of mankind. If there's but a few men we should praise as the representation of the crème de la crème human achievement, he's definitely among them.
People these days cannot respect the bliss of beethoven's work, and they remixed it and turned it into some inferno crap, the orginal is the best, hail beethoven. this piece is one of my favourites.
Oh bliss! Bliss and heaven! Oh, it was gorgeousness and gorgeousity made flesh. It was like a bird of rarest-spun heaven metal or like silvery wine flowing in a spaceship, gravity all nonsense now. As I slooshied, I knew such lovely pictures!
im suddenly in the mood the smash a bitches face in with a penis sculpture and drunk some of the ol Moloko vellocet, with my friends or should i say "My droogs"
both my favourite and most despised "songs" of classical music are in beethovens 9th symphony. while the ode to joy makes me puke, this piece of art brings me to catharsis and gvs me goosebumps..
@MyLovelyHomicide while alot of people would criticize you for saying the 4th mvt makes you puke, its ok. Beethoven himself later said he was not happy with the final result of the "to joy" and wanted to re-work it. he had been working for almost 15 years to set that poem to music and was never satisfied with any of the results, even though the 4th mvt of the 9th symphony is considered his crowning achievement
@Doug19752533 yes yes. of course. but i hate it for a personal reason: its the european unions anthem and ive been in a european school for years and both my parents work for the EU. so im already sick of it. lol. and also dislike how it is an easy to remember melody in comparisson to this part.
@wakaboomnick when i hear this song very carefully one dark side of me comes out and my head starts to think bad things , holly clockwork orange, masterpiece !
@wakaboomnick I'm sorry, to the date i haven't seen a clockwork orange; I did watch a movie called A Clockwork Orange, but haven't seen a clockwork orange.
Oh bliss! Bliss and heaven! Oh, it was gorgeousness and gorgeousity made flesh. It was like a bird of rarest-spun heaven metal or like silvery wine flowing in a spaceship, gravity all nonsense now. As I slooshied, I knew such lovely pictures!
What must cross one's mind when to create something so breathtaking, so brilliant? The fact that even one human being has a soul of sufficient grandeur to create something this astonishing gives me hope yet for humanity. But then I realize that for many years nothing of this capacity has been conceived. Contemporary music is saturated with capitalist flop and waste.
Im not an advertiser or anything, but the best version of this song Ive heard is the wiener philharmonika/ Sir simon rattle version of symphony no.9..... just saying ;)
Just a quick question for those more knowledgeable about period instruments. When they say that what instruments are different or are they just using different tunings?
Conductors take liberties with speed . . . this sounds perfect to me, maybe a tiny bit faster than, ?? Can't think of a specific version. Must research.
@katerinalikesvideos first off, im not stupid, i play music, and i am very good at it, I won't wave my achievements at u, but i did not SEE that it said that, only reason i didnt know
@jonah12321 i didn't imply that you knew nothing about music, i'm sure you do. i called you stupid because the title of the video says "period instruments". maybe calling you 'not the most observant person' would've been more accurate
Oh bliss! Bliss and heaven! Oh, it was gorgeousness and gorgeousity made flesh. It was like a bird of rarest-spun heaven metal or like silvery wine flowing in a spaceship, gravity all nonsense now. As I slooshied, I knew such lovely pictures!
