  • A lot of actors can do great american accents. It's not like Laurie's is the greatest anyone's ever done. The focus is just bizarre.

  • @savvysearch Take Lucy Punch for example. She performed so well in "Bad Teacher" I was shocked to find out she is British and when I heard her speak with British accent at a press conference.

  • Talk show host: So, you are British aren't you?

    Hugh: Yes, I am

    Next Interview

Talk show host: So, you are British aren't you?

    Hugh: Yes, I am

If I was an actor, I would NOT go on talk shows in the US for this reason. II think I should end up telling the presenter to change the record, or just fuck off. I mean I think most people know he is from England, and if they don't, I don't know where they have been living for the last 5 years.

  • He is a very famous actor in England. It's so bothersome thats all anyone EVER wants to talk about is his American accent in House.

  • The real problem is that they do this with everyone. Every single guest on every show gets the same damn questions over and over again. It's especially annoying with people like Hugh Laurie and Michael C Hall. They are clever, interesting, talented people that just get asked the same crap over and over.

  • Here's a better question. Why hasn't Stephen Fry been a guest star in an episode of House yet?

  • I do agree, he is a complex and brilliant man who has done so much other than House, but to be fair, the majority of American fans don't care about a bit of fry and laurie or blackadder or jeeves and wooster. Therefore they keep the questions well boring.

And aswel, Hugh gets paid a lot for these tv appearances.

I think it is up to us to simply go and discover Hugh ourselves....

  • @Orlabobz that's what I've been doing lately. Watched all 6 episodes of Fortysomething and I'm starting on A Bit of Fry and Laurie today.

  • @KarioDudeRBN

Isn't Fortysomething great? One of the overlooked shows Hugh is in. And A Bit is fantastic! Wish I could watch em for the first time again!

  • Believe it or not, British television doesn't play big in America (there's always the "cult" following). Most, if not all, Americans had no idea Hugh Laurie existed before House. Probably has something to do with the Declaration of Independence, I'm guessing. =0} Although it is interesting to go back watch his past works.

  • he is so very interesting i've loved him a long long time..those hosts are such Idiots.& oh yes!! Wooster!! i'm in love with Gregory House, which ScaRes Me, but hugh laurie is hugh laurie.,& i'm sooooooooo glad he comes in my house all the time. stop boring hugh laurie.

  • Lol

  • Jeeves and Wooster people, thats all that has to be said. Hugh Laurie is way more than just House, which he's in my opinion better than Sheen was on two and a half men at it's prime. He continue's to hold shows and series' alike together with great ratings and great acting.

  • And Mr. Laurie probably takes it as a huge compliment that people are surprised that he's from the UK. I myself was floored because his American accent is perfect. He's not like Jude Law or Kate Winslet, whose American accents aren't too convincing.

  • Hugh Laurie knows that he's going to be asked the same questions over and over again, and the hosts already know all the answers to these questions. I'm sure they rehearse this before they actually record the interview. Celebrities need to be asked the same questions over and over again because not everyone's going to watch the same talk show on the same night. Information about these celebrities has to be spread throughout different talk shows.

  • I'm pretty sure that if he watch this video he would take the first plane to England and he will never come back lol

  • why didnt they just make him english on house?

  • What they're really asking is "but... don't you want to be like us?"

  • Would be fun if he would change it up on them.

English? No I am born and bread Texan :D,

or My farther a doctor? god no, he was a butcher :)

  • well Your little princess is here to please you

  • Is he not american?!

    Just kidding ;)

  • First of all talk shows these days are used by actors to promote their work so it is symbiotic. But you forgot to include a clip of Ellen in which Hugh skillfully played the piano and was quite comical while doing so. I also would like to say that British talk shows are probably quite the same as ours in their banality. And I think it's in poor taste to insult Americans with your comments. House has been very good to Laurie and his family who now enjoy the financial benefits it afforded him.

  • House is is shit and Hugh Laurie has traded an important career in british comedy for a pointless bag of cash in america.

  • Americans are fucking retarded

Of course you will not realize he is British

Because you all asociate us with talking to a "posh snobby" accent

Which we don't only people who attend Oxford or are part of the Royal Family talk like that

the rest of the UK has thousands of Regional dialects

    Stupid Dumb Americans

  • LEAVE LAURIE ALONE!!!!!)

  • I watched Jeeves and Wooster, I also watched A bit of Fry and Laurie. I however, am American. Yeah, fuckin' American.

  • so he is from....canada?

  • I wonder if he is british or american after all...

  • Are you implying that talk shows are all the same vapid and banal crap? That is just so untrue.

  • lool sweet sesy doll who is not just all about the looks

  • why did people dislike this? all its doing is stating the truth about how lame there questions are. I swear people are such followers!

  • Same questions, but different people watch different hosts. Mine: CraigyFerg

  • Anyone else here after seeing Hugh Laurie on Conan? Totally didn't ask him any of these. XD

  • haha wow this is pretty ridiculous....the EXACT same questions over and over and over and over....at least it makes the interviews easier I suppose lol

  • Seriously people... House is good, but Hugh Laurie is SO much more than that... What about his Blackadder days?!

  • How many times do people have to say this, there is no such thing as a british accent, there are english, scottish, or irsh accents within britain, but not a british accent.

  • @CellFawn Thank you! Not only that, but there are a million English dialects - just as George Bush's accent is different from Tony Soprano's, Steve Coogan's dialect is different from Simon Amstell's.

  • It would be better if Hugh Laurie stops playing what has become an insipidly boring show. Maybe then people would have something new to ask him other than "herp derp how's House, old chap!"

  • Love how he just milks the answers. "It's the single hardest thing to do ... "

  • nothing but the tip of the iceberg as to the kind of bullshit he probably deals with every day

  • I love Hugh Laurie. I will be really glad if they ask him something about his family

  • Poor Hugh!! XD

  • anyone else try say 'murder' in an american accent?

  • @YellowDogUK yes, and I was quite successful in that, seeing as I am American...

  • @YellowDogUK I tried to say it in an English accent. I failed hilariously.

  • A good point well made! :)

  • hmz Im young and thats why im not too experiesnced and a bit shy

  • Honestly I'm sure americans think hugh laurie was miraculously spawned a few years ago to become the star of house, it's depressing that one of the great british comedy actors is having his famous works of jeeves and wooster and blackadder overlooked so ignorantly! It's like inviting the beatles over and talking incessantly about please please me!

  • The ammount of money people pay to see Hugh as House: ALOT!

The face of Hugh everytime they ask the same bloody questions: Priceless.

  • My favourite actor

  • A great video

  • haha, remarkable video. Well done.

Pig ignorance throughout, the look on his face each time is priceless, are they too stupid to read that he is sick of them?

  • lol y do they keep moving so close?! XD they look they gonna jump on him.

  • OMG I love Hugh Laurie but I hate seeing him in America playing an American interviewed on this irritating talk shows. It's upsetting cos they don't know him. and it doesn't seem right to see him there He doesn't belong there. COME HOME TO ENGLAND.

  • I have a feeling that if American's weren't such idiots TV show hosts could asked better questions. I for one researched Hugh Laurie! So I knew all this crap already! But that's just me!

  • @chazz7667 One of those "American idiot TV show hosts" are Scottish.

    Did you know that? ;P

  • @vovEmanations He was referring to the audience i believe - (There's a pause between idiots and TV)

  • @vovEmanations He was referring to the audience i believe - (There's a pause between idiots and TV)

  • @vovEmanations Okay, I forgot a comma. However, that is no excuse to miss read my damned quote. I said American's were idiots. Not the hosts. But hey, thanks for proving my point. Did you know that?

  • @chazz7667 ALL celebrities get asked the same questions over and over. Everybody knows this stuff already, especially the hosts considering they have to ask these questions in the first place. Obviously they've 'done their research' already and they think these topics would make good points of discussion. And btw, you don't have to pretend to be ignorant about America just to get attention. You've already proven yourself to be ignorant in other fields.

  • @allicahshay Exactly how have I proven myself ignorant in any field? And I would bet that I know more than you about America! I love when people try to test me, so please have at it. Be forewarned, bring your best. Nothing less will do!

  • Hugh is freaking cool...

  • So are Americans. You are one of us, or one of "the rest"(of the world).

  • Honestly, I just reeeeally want someone to bring up Blackadder ):

  • @FreeGirlForLife There is no point. Americans just don't get it.

    Too educational I think :P

  • @FreeGirlForLife and you expect it from this idiots?

  • @FreeGirlForLife Yeah, why does everyone keep talking about House all the time? It's great and all (I love it), but really, he was much more interesting back in the days of Fry and Laurie and also Blackadder.

  • Dear Ironie, thank you for making this. It made my day.

  • @HaniiPuppy You got four halves, so you should start by saying you are actually two people.

  • Such a brilliant actor and all these mindless talk hosts constantly ask say the same stupid thing over and over again. Sad.

  • Poor guy...

  • Hugh's face at 0:01 was my face for the entire video.

  • I wish he didn't cut half of the replies and didnt put that stupid spanish flea song on this

  • Well done :)

  • @XxpauldadudexX eat a fuckin dick you rat piss maggot pommie faggot its not like i typed hugh laurie and started watching vids you dumb cunt it was a related vid to some other shit and i thought id piss some people off by calling this guy a fag which i have done considering your having a fucking cry oh and btw nice profile pic u have there love the beiber hair u little fukin pussy to bad your kissing some ginger dog hahha

  • I like that music in the bg AND I have got a motorbike...well a scooter and its restricted to f**** 30mph but I WILL get a bigger bike when I am allowed.

  • Americans are very diverse in their color and looks but they all think exact same way..... pathetic

  • @glasszone33 Because all Americans are shitty late night talk show hosts who are forced to talk to 2 celebrities every night...? How do you factor the Scottish guy (Craig Ferguson) into this equation?

With late night talk shows, the guests tell a producer what subjects they want to talk about on the show. The responsibility for this is on Hugh Laurie.

  • @EmmyNeander lol you pity me? cuz i dont like some old man on a tv show? bitch your probably some fat ho that whats tv all day while u eat kfc and cake, im allowed to have my opinion and i dont like this boring old FAG so how about you get on the treadmil and worry about all that cellulite on your legs? i pity you

  • wait... so craig ferguson asks him the same questions... twice

  • I love this! :)

  • Oxford !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • why is this hugh fag even famous? just because of that house show? that show is fucking rubbish and hes not entertaining at all

  • @sunnycoast4558

wow. I can tell you must be a very talented and entertaining person.

  • @sunnycoast4558 I think you'll find his surname is Laurie, not Fag, though I assume you were making a reference to homosexuality (ha ha, very witty) which, however, is entirely inappropriate in his case because he is not, in fact, gay.

And no, he's not just famous because of 'that House show', it's because he's a brilliant and very entertaining comedian, something you obviously fail to see. I pity you.

  • @sunnycoast4558 man , get that big dick outta your gob and fuck off....why did you watch this vid then you dumb twat ?

  • @sunnycoast4558 Stop talking shit befor you even en turd the toilet!

  • Wonderful! So true!

  • americans god they r so fucking dumb!

  • OK YOU ASKED HIM 9000 TIMES! ONCE AGAIN AND HIS POWER LEVEL REACHES OVER 9000!!!!!!!!!!!111!1!!!one!!!

  • Love the background song!! Heard it on endless stuff. What is the name of the tune?

  • @evoLTenshi

Spanish Flea by Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass

  • *face palm*

  • The look Laurie gives the camera in the first couple of frames really freaked me out.

  • Why does Hugh EVEN BOTHER GOING TO THESE PISSING SHOWS JUST TO ASKED THE SAME QUESTIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @lcboo9 Why don't you learn to write correct English

  • @Muffershof Oh, I'm sorry... grammar Nazi.

  • @lcboo9 Because he's Hugh Laurie and that's how he rolls.

  • @lcboo9 because he gets paid to be there

  • @lcboo9 Yea u know what.. ur right we should all just get mad right now

  • every talk show asked the same question. after a while i would say f it and be like. everyone already knows all this i'm not repeating myself.

  • he is a fake doctor????? WHAT THE FUUUUUUUUUUCK?

  • hey hey stupid americans

  • Bought a HOUSE?

  • и как его еще не заебали такими вопросами.... !? железное терпение

  • i also heard him say that he always avoids saying 'New York' when playing House, because he can't say it in an American accent. I've tried it, and he's right. it's really hard to say!!

  • lolol great video

  • Poor Hugh Laurie! I wonder how many other actors and actresses have that problem. I love Hugh Laurie and Craig Ferguson!

  • @CFergieROCKS lol harrison ford ... another actor that just gets hammered with pointless star wars questions ... "How fast did you do the kessel run again?" lol

  • Poor Hugh Laurie! I wounder how many other actors and actresses feel like that. I love Hugh Laurie and Craig Ferguson!

  • Lol this is such a well made video!

  • I bet half of the people watching this video know Laurie from House.

  • @6020e3 Anything wrong with that? It's a great show and it deserves the success it has. Anyway I'm young enough to be his daughter and I know him from Blackadder.

  • @ChrissieBana that show is not great.

  • Poor guy. Well, I guess that's one of those things you'll have to deal with when you're famous; People asking you the same questions over and over again.

  • Search for 'The Red Hat of Patferrick' or 'Tony of Plymouth' for Laurie's comic genius with Stephen Fry. If the US hasn't yet dicovered that pairing, you're all in for a treat.

P.S. Stephen Fry is probably the world's most intelligent man - he just happens to be extremely funny with it.

  • "So, rumor has it that you're not an American - is that so?"

"No, as a matter of fact, I'm half man, half bear and half pig!"

  • @NorwegianBastard EXCELSIOR!

  • hugh needs to be on more comedy central roasts, just his voice would be funny, the jokes wouldn't have to be :D

  • @RandomExpletive

yea but his jokes would probably be better than from most people on Comedy Central, because he is in fact a comedian and starred in one of the funniest shows on TV ("A Bit of Fry and Laurie")

personally I wish he would get back to doing some comedy, because he was great at it

  • @ReducedToAsh And Blackadder if you've seen that one of the best comedies ever.

  • @ms01323 of course, yes

suffice to say he has a big background in comedy

  • Clearly none of these people never saw 101 Dalmatians or any of his previous work before house.

  • @Asc82491 blackadder the second where he plays the prince alongside rowan atkinson(another guy immensly talented but is merely known as "mr bean") is hilarious. also a stark contrast to house and bean, atkinson is a smart, devious guy, and lauries prince is a bumbling idiot

  • He plays guitar and piano too !

  • isnt it obvious that talk show hosts have to ask questions for which the guests have already prepared an answer

  • This is our life in "A brave new world".

  • very funny

hugh laurie is very interesting and surprising

    because he think he isn't

  • Unfortunately for Hugh, he and the host of those shows are there to entertain the hordes of ignorant audiences at home and elsewhere. If it takes the same old mundane questions to do so, then that's what they will get.

  • The sad thing is that judging by his work on "A Bit of Fry & Laurie", he's better at comedy than most of those hosts.

  • Learn how the industry works.

  • poor Hugh :D I bet it is extremelly irritating..

  • I can't help but notice how the title of this video is probably directed toward a certain Scottish talk show host for CBS.

  • Oh wow, now do one for Hugh Jackman. it's would prolly be worst than this.

  • Ok... anyone who is interviewed frequently obviously is going to go over the same topics and answer the same questions every once in a while. I probably would be a bit annoyed by interviews (if i was someone worth interviewing). This doesn't just happen to Hugh, it happens to every actor, musician, artist, politician, etc...

  • wow... that must be really annoying.

  • Well, I'm pretty sure when he plays House and wants to seem cranky he just runs through these inane questions in his mind.

  • This is flipping hilariouss

  • I actually thought David Letterman did a really good job. He talked about alot of stuff I didnt know about Hugh laurie. Tho I'm sure having the accent talk every single interview must be frustrating.

  • i dont think hes bored, he seems.. i dont know.. ANNOYED!

  • damn what a bunch of big-mouthed idiots! XD

  • SAME QUESTIONS ...that's boring

  • From his Royal Highness the Prince of Wales to Miss Amy Hardwood.

Tally Ho my fine saucy young trollop. Your lucks in.

Trip along here with all your cash and some naughty night atire and you'll be staring at my ceiling from now till Christmas you lucky tart.

    P.s. Woof Woof

  • That is the look and demeanour of an intelligent man VERY bored with answering the same lightweight questions over and over.

  • Good questions:

"You obviously started in comedy. Which career did you/ do you most enjoy? Serious or comedic?"

"Do you see yourself returning to comedy?"

"How did you get casted for House?"

  • surprised more folks don't know about Black Adder. The public television crowd and BBC-fan crowd would know it (umm, Black Adder was on BBC, right? Not Thames? LOL).

  • black adder!!!!

  • WE ALLLLLLLLLLLL KNOE HE IS BRITISH

SHUT UP ALREADY ASK SOMTHING ELSE

LIKE ABOUT HOW HE PLAYS LIKE 4 DIFFERENT INSRAMENT

    ANYTHING BUT HIS ACCENT

  • Dude he looks like my dad sooo bad

  • americans = retards

  • When Lisa Edelstein(Cuddy) was asked about how is Hugh Laurie? Is he so unbeareble in real life as in the series? She answered: "Not at all. He is very kind, very funny and supports us all. He is very concerned about the feelings of others, but is as bright as his character." 'He is bright as his character.' I guess this interviews are just thrash. Biographies exist for some reason.

  • Thumbs up if you got here by typing "Boring"

  • So you're not american? No i just talk in a accent for fun.

  • These tv shows arefucking moronic.

  • Interviews for Hugh must be a doddle :)

  • you'd think they were making these for hummingbirds. oh wait.

  • Of course, this jazz festival was alot after this interviews, but seriously, they could have asked about more relavant and interesting things...

  • Yes. He is really, really briliant. One good question would be asking him about his musical path, since Laurie actually plays piano, guitar, drums, harmonica and saxophone and Laurie with a jazz quintet closed the 2011 Cheltenham Jazz Festival to great acclaim, according to wikipedia. So it would be a good idea to ask him about his personal music experiences instead of the damn accent questions lol -.-' The Interviewers should have asked him about more important and relevant questions!!

  • I agree, they bore the undies off him

  • "So tell me, is it right, you're not american, are you?"

"No, I'm in fact half pakistani, half chinese, half south african, and half grizzly bear"

  • @HaniiPuppy you mean half man, half bear, and half pig. HUGH LAURIE IS MANBEARPIG!!!

  • @HaniiPuppy I read your comment as "No, I'm in fact half pakistani, half cheese..." . I think that really should have been his answer. :-D

  • Spanish Flea song ;D

  • "What's the hardest American word for you to do?"

    "Murder."

Oh man, that one word must sum up how he feels for all talk shows lol.

  • 0:01, his face says it all. "and here comes the accent questions.."

  • What song is this?? Please reply, I've been looking for this song.

  • @PaxamillionMegasus Spanish Flea

  • @Followthategg

    Thank you!

  • The music is spectacular!

  • hahahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • I like Craig Ferguson and all but WTF.

  • Not just the questions: he must be getting pretty bored of making an entrance in these shows while they play either Madness' Our House or House of fun as well. They just cannot seem to come up with anything else. He is obviously very uncomfortable with these kind of interviews: I always feel a bit sorry for him when I see him in a talkshow.

  • :/ what a waste. Dumb hosts...

  • Holy Crap, Hugh Laurie isnt american????

  • well, that's the price to pay for being famous - you are always asked the same

  • At least sit him down at a piano!
