Zippcast really isn't 'feeling well' at the moment! Every single page will time out.. impossible to sign in. Zipp are on facebook - do a search. They often (along with the gripes posted) will add little messages on how they're getting on trying to fix their servers! But I'm still rooting for Zipp :)
Scroogle - is DOWN and OUT. After repeated DNS attacks most likely by Google - it now doesn't exist.

I would not be surprised if the site ZIPPCAST a competitive threat and alternative to YOUTUBE/GOOGLE has already been sabotaged at the technical and corporate level by the powers that be. This is just the guberments way of tryin to control what we see and say, what they don't realize is that there is enough of us and we are now close enough together that we could send out a message by word of mouth that would only take days to sweep across the nation, we don't really have to depend on the internet or communication devices. All these web sites they close down can simply print a monthy newspaper that ppl can subscribe to, they have not stopped anything, just wasting more of our $.
Yes, it is very very slow. Hopefully they can address this problem before it kills their business model. I don't really think they would get the traffic that they got so quickly. The first time I went there, it was much faster then it is now, so I think their servers simply got over run.They have very little time to fix the problem before the start to lose traffic and interest. This is where the big money controllers come in and take over and make it something we won't like. It's always a no win

Zippcast fucked me over by deleting all my original music audio files. days after I donated to support audio hosting on the promise it will remain permanent part of the site! Instead audios were destroyed, removed within days. What BS. They strip away awesome features as people cheer
You are right on, sister. I joined zippcast, and love the features including the ability to customize the header. The problem...a large one, is that Zippcast has been under "maintenance mode" for over the last four days....FOUR DAYS when they can take no new people and NO uploads. SO, I am forced to stay on YT (while waiting for Zippcast to move beyond four lousy serviers). YT and Google are dead in my book, and I desperately want to DELETE them on Feb. 29th. Maybe ZC will be fixed by then.

The new page IS generic, but you can go back to the "old" page style on YouTube- all you have to do is click on "EDIT CHANNEL" (in the upper right corner) and then click on "Go back to old page." Try it out.
P.S. At Vimeo I am Jahrun AND... you can create reader-friendly urls to everything! I could go on and on. They have great community development but I think they could do better and I plan on sending them my suggestions. Thanks for all that you do!

Use FastMail for email. They have a free account with 25 MB mailbox, Or you can pay $20.00 a year for 2GB mailbox. They actually give you more than that... Iv'e been using it 3 years, and it's great. Very reliable.

I tried zippcast and they need to do a serious upgrade on speed otherwise they are going to brand themselves as slow and useless and nobody wants to waste time uploading videos on a site nobody is going to go to if it's slow.

I spoke to the ZIPPCAST "people" and I was very surprized to hear that they are KIDS!!The lead developer is 16 and the oldest person on their team is 20. They said out of no where on day they got hit with 4000 requests for accounts. They are working very hard to fix the problems but lets stick it out with them and SUPPORT what they are doing. KIDS!! I tell you! I am so proud!!

I sent a CV as an attachment and found that they'd saved it to something called Google docs. where it could be read like a word document. The thing that pisses me off is I obtained my account through YOUTUBE, not google so my terms of agreement are youtube's original contract agreement. Google is trying to force original youtube users into going by THEIR policies which is not legally feasible. I think the people that had youtube accounts before google took over should file a class action lawsuit against them for breach of contract and force google, LEGALLY, to restore out original contract agreements and format WE wish to go by.
I'm weaning myself off of Google and will be using Duckduckgo more often. Scroogle? Subbed you here and on zippcast. Yes it is slow and has growing pains but I believe it will be a wonderful alternative when it gets going.

Youtube has been careful to remove features that burn bandwidth while not generating any extra revenue. They've also added "features" to increase advert impressions. Zippcast will hit the same boundaries but without the billions of dollars to waste
One clear example. You complain about it being slow, then praise a feature that pushes videos at many people, they view it, if they were interested or not, chewing bandwidth, slowing the site, for little gain.
Even on zippcast they can follow you. Just bc Google doing it doesn't mean others arnt doing it.. they've already been doing following ppl off the internet for years just becoming public .. like every other thing they try first sneak up on u then bam

Even though the design change seems awful generic, thanks to this change, & "I now have the only, interactive playlists of same content, in the world". YT is turning into reality TV with a commercials added to everyone video plus.. I think most of the YT channels are not even getting payed for the commercial attached to their video..

I have a suggestion for them. NO SLIDE SHOWS. "Video" or nada. That's what I hate about Youtube. Make sure the videos are one minute minimum. That's will help the sites success immensely. Lets face it, With out the experience to use Youtube carefully, it is CRAP.

I spoke to the ZIPPCAST "people" and I was very surprized to hear that they are KIDS!!The lead developer is 16 and the oldest person on their team is 20. They said out of no where on day they got hit with 4000 requests for accounts. They are working very hard to fix the problems but lets stick it out with them and SUPPORT what they are doing. KIDS!! I tell you! I am so proud!!

@morningmayan Great video! Good points about the generic tombstone faceless anonymous channels. The main reason I'm leaving is google's scary new big brother "privacy" policy. Loved what you had to say in the end about our wonderful troops.
Just to let you know Alec, the 16 year old, is the head mobile app developer at zippcast, not of the actual site. Yes, they are young-- but these guys are smart and determined. Plus, the genuinely care about their users.

I'm closing all my Gmail accounts before the new policies come in. I'm sick to death of the company anyway. I sent a CV as an attachment and found that they'd saved it to something called Google docs. where it could be read like a word document. I was like 'hey, I didn't ask you to do that, I just wanted it sent to the other person like any other file.' Plus about a hundred other reasons. Such a shame. I remember when Google seemed to stand for something good and free in all senses.

I am trying to upload my first video to ZippCast. I am not a YT partner but had that monetisation thingie on the particular video in YT, I first removed that though. I am also not a lawyer but I smell a rat. I would probably end up in jail for 20 years orso if I would upload it to ZippCast while the same video still being monetised in YT ? Extra reason is that I watch and comment on many 'conspiracy' videos in YT...

I don't like the new layout for pages taking away of the comments on peoples pages. Whats that all about? you would think as a service evolves such as youtube it would seek to improve its facilities not retrograde. Or maybe there trying to not only monitor where your going but seek to make it harder to relate to people with a common cause a make it less of a tool for mass awakening. Thank you for this. Exactly re: the lack of individuality on the "New You Tube" - Generic to say the least. I too go to their page to see who they are and if they are haters or communist big government and anti constitutionalists or what have you. I do not know (yet) what all the issues are with Google and You Tube other than the "page look" and taking "sharing" away. I do know that A LOT of people are pretty upset with them to say the least. .. it seems like Zippcast has upgraded their servers as things moved along quicker and I also read and message on the bulletin board who they were going to upgrade again soon.
..as far as the Youtube Channel make overs:
It's because as individual Yter's it takes time and effort to design our YT channels the way we want them but Gov Trolls & paid Shills don't have time for such non-sense so w/ these new Youtube changes it will be a lot easier for them to be passed off as normal Yt users

The thing that pisses me off is I obtained my account through YOUTUBE, not google so my terms of agreement are youtube's original contract agreement. Google is trying to force original youtube users into going by THEIR policies which is not legally feasible. I think the people that had youtube accounts before google took over should file a class action lawsuit against them for breach of contract and force google, LEGALLY, to restore out original contract agreements and format WE wish to go by.

Bandwidth costs more then users bring back in revenue.
Youtube is a lead-loss to gain market share at a cost.
Zippcast slow? Guess why. It's not a profitable business as it stands.
Youtube has been careful to remove features that burn bandwidth while not generating any extra revenue. They've also added "features" to increase advert impressions. Zippcast will hit the same boundaries but without the billions of dollars to waste
