  • 1:02 ...gengar?

  • @Snorlagg *lol*

And after all these years, I never really made the connection with the silhouette XD

    Nice spot =)

  • 0:41 "Wait dude! I didn't mean it! We can talk this out, right?! Oh I'm going to die."

  • 1:00 - to the end is just too awesome. The light explosion right when his screen goes all staticy.

  • "Hikari Ni... NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAREEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!"

  • Okay now I'm going smash your face with JEEEEEESUUUUUS!

  • Holy shit! That's a big fucking hammer!!! Only in Gaogaigar.

  • Criticals hits go...TO THOSE WITH COURAGE!!!!!

  • me: time to own this guy in the face with goldion crusher

    *gets to the epic part*

    Gai: HIKARI NI NAREEEEEEEEEE

    *enemy explodes*

    *game Freezes*

    *DS Explodes into light particles*

    me: O.O Owned!!

  • Jesus Christ o_o

  • My DS exploded from Epicness when i use this attack xD

  • is this game?

  • u murdered his ass

  • damn what stage do you get the goldion crusher cant understand this japanese game but i can still play it hahaha kewl attack i wanna get that fast XD that damn size of hammer could destroy 1 planet omg

  • One Planet? If you kept swinging you could take out a solar system by the end of the day using the "Galeoria Road" ability of the Genesic (It's a hidden ability not revealed in the OVA for the sole reason it woulda killed the ending's drama).

  • Interesting. Didn't know ab out that and just read it up.

If guy had enough in him to muster up one Galeoria Road execution to save those trapped in the Trinary Star System, there's a possibility that the original cast survived and are possible stranded somewhere else, as opposed to being killed in the collapse of the Trinary Star system.

  • Watch the End of FINAL Again, you can see the Galeoria Comet (which is a Galeoria Road) in it.

  • ._.

  • Everyone basicly knows that the hammer top is pretty much the size of,I dunno,HALF OF JUPITER?!

  • OWNED. Kickass video.

  • Totally Agreed!!!

  • You can't. He added these himself to the video.

  • That is a Really Big Hammer...O_O

  • I like this one because it gets closer to the anime.

  • what going on guy mind when he thought smashing a bad dude with a hammer big enough to destroy the top of the world, and the bad guy must be thinking:oh my god a giant gold hammer look at the prety i will just stand here while thinking of my inevitable destruction. and i love srw

  • Well, what's he gonna do? RUN?

    Not from that thing.

  • Guy Shishio is so cool, he gets different face portraits unlike half the of the people in SRW W!

  • Haha, you're right.

That said however, SRTW definitely lacks a good set of character poortraits, but I guess Banpresto should be forgiven for that since its their first go on a DS.

I'm sure the next SRT for the DS would be better technically, and hopefully gameplay wise as well.

  • Same. SRW J also lacked facial portraits too. Maybe it's just a trademark for the GBA series. Though OG gets different facial expression portraits as well.

  • Doesn't OG have less characters overall than the other GBA games? Seems the ones with licensed characters get screwed out. 'Cept for Guy, who is the man.

  • Shishioh Guy certainly has the largest number of unique portraits: Cyborg (Normal) Cyborg (Equip) Cyborg (Hell&Heaven/DanganX) Cyborg (After DanganX) Cyborg (Hyper Mode) Evoludar (Normal) Evouldar (Equip) Evoludar (Equip Hyper Mode) Evoludar (Chemical Bolt) Evoludar (Non-Equip, in Genesic) Evoludar (Non-Equip Hyper Mode) Chances are that I missed one or two others though.
  • like THE POWER?

what i like about this game is the KO special scenes, like the ones for wingzero, Choryujin+Gekiryujin combo, and Red Astray

  • The voice actor of Guy scares the shit out of me.

  • He's doubly scary when your playing Soul Caliber and you realize he plays Nightmare AND Yoshimitsu

That was definitly a Brick Shitting Moment

  • That's interesting!

Knew he was Knightmare and Seigfried, but Yoshimitsu came as a surprise to me. Thanks for the info :)

  • Yeah, he plays Yoshimitsu really different than just about any of his other roles

One character I remember being especially surprised that he played was Azeral from SEED, and I didn't make a connection until he had the Laughing Voice Cut-in halfway through Alpha 3

  • The earliest I managed to notice when he was Azrael's seiyuu was when he was making proclamations about how the Genesis was not allowed to exist, in the original MSGS series itself when it aired.

Like you, I was pretty much surprised when he actually played the role of Azrael, but nonetheless, he played the role very well as well.

  • Voice acting and better resolution are the only things that makes better de @3 version. The secuences of W are far better.

But I thing that the Earth must be turn to light when the Goldion Crusher hits... and then, the game will freeze and the Nintendo DS explode XD

  • Good God. That made overkill look wimpy.

  • and that was just one attack...?

  • Yep.

There's a MAP variation of it that covers the largest Map area in the game as well IIRC.

  • Masterful! Though...it still seems rather odd for the Goldion Crusher as anything BUT a MAP attack...overkill much?

  • But isn't where the fun lies in taking out a large hammer when the enemy stands in awe before getting smashed into photons?

    ._o?

    O_O

    X_X *flattened*

The exxageration of the Goldion Crusher is just plain awesome =3

  • I'm torn between W's version or @3's version. True, @3 has awesome graphic, but this version is, IMO, more intense in term of the Goldion Crusher execution and the overall feel.

  • No way. Alpha 3's version lacks the much-needed sequences prior to the Crusher Connect.

  • LOT better than the alpha 3 version

  • Gutsy, gutsy!

This scene makes me wish W had voices. It's certainly an awesome game, but Guy is just so much more awesome when voiced.

    Hikari ni...

    NAREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

And it was a Dynamic Kill, too. Fun, fun.

  • Voice clips are all it needed. This is just amazing.

  • This SRW must be the best damn thing to ever grace a handheld. o_______o

  • GaoGaiGar is the best and strongest mech in the game

  • I love this video; you put it together in such a way that makes it look like that's how it actually sounds in the game.

Makes it really hard to see and hear the real thing afterward, though.

  • It'd be hilarious if the enemy could use spirit and dodge this attack, or simply recieve only 10 damage. Lol I'd like to see the looks on their faces if that happened after wasting so much time doing something so dramatic....

  • Well, you'd see them do it, so you'd have a random unit poke them first to dispel Hirameki and/or Invincible. After all, we pray that the player is more capable of fighting against Seishin than the CPU is.

  • NICE

  • uber over kill 5 stars for you.

  • CRUSHA CONNECTO!

    HIKARI NI NAREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

    *xplodes*

  • WHOA!!! dude awsome vid! 5 stars! and what platform is this SRW on?

  • The Nintendo DS, game's name is Super Robot Taisen W (Double).

  • Nicely done :)

  • Thanks =)

  • I love you...

  • But I'm taken o_o;;

  • LOL Sorry, it's just I get emotional everytime I here Guy scream like that. I'm glad you added voice clips into this awesome scene. Even if it isn't as good graphic or sound wise, it's still awesome. I wish their was some voices for the attacks, but that alone wouldn't stop me from buying this.

    IT'S GOT GAOGAIGAR IN IT!!!

  • GAAAAAAAAAAAOOOOOOOOOO!

    GAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIII!

    GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRR!

    Hot blooded awesomesauceactionessthingy!

  • cool

  • O_O wow.... this is too fantastic...

  • Nice edit of the scene there, SRW W really does feel more charged withe voices. Still, with only 60mb of space left, I imagine they'd only be able to fit hi-quality voices for just the ultimate attacks for everyone... just barely.

  • Voices can be made and done with with 48kbps @ 11050Hz per channel (Rockman ZX quality), so with 60MB of space fitting, that'd tally to 120 hours including the voice programming.

  • Ah, I guess I'm behind the times in audio compression.

  • Rockman ZX's voices aren't what I'd call high quality, but its passable.

  • true (yes i joined you're side now) I goddamn hope they work with uss a little so that we can own people in busses so that they get hartstroke's each time Guy screams HIKARI NI NARE!!!!

  • Great Jod

  • too bad its not the real sound but the scenes are even better than alpha 3....unless uu added them in somehow lol

  • those are the originol scene's

  • holyu sh1t thats almost better than the alpha 3 version!!

  • (continued)

also if it would have been inserted the graphics would of sufferd severly and the sound quality would of probably been below that of ZX, I know this because i own ZX and happen to have quite some knowledge on the field of sound cards and ds cards.

for more info or speculation (idel hope) i sugjest you go to the gamefaqs forum of SRW W.

  • I work in the field of graphics and sound multimedia, and have my own fair share of knowledge with regards to sound, harmonics, compression and whatnot that's needed.

Attack cutscenes, critical, miss, destruction and everything related can be done, though not of very high standards.

  • My point exactly, if all would be lowerd just for mediocer sound then i rather have nothing till the system CAN (wich it will surely be able to someday) take it

  • What can be done is to use both lower sampling rate.

Normal voicing, as in talking, conversing, shouting or just normal speech can be made done easily with 64kbps @ 22100kHz and below, given the sonic spectrum that the human voice covers.

The rest of the higher frequencies are either airiness, sibilance and whatnot that aren't necessary.

  • I know but you have to also take in mind that the space remains is litteler then 15 mb so it would only work for either finishers (fine imo) or very very low quality or only for certain untis (bad imo)

  • Not exactly 15megabits (which is very little), but the DS SRT W from what I gathered carries a capacity of 64MB (512Mb), which is half of what the DS can actually carry.

64MB in carrying capacity would mean that the game in its own right is not 64MB large in total, but rather a fraction of it, and larger than 32MB (considering that 64MB is one of the 'limits' as opposed to the actual size of the game itself).

  • Add on to that, Banpresto can actually have more than 60MB of space to actually work with voices (with the sacrifice of save files, but since the SRT W game has more than 30 save slots, I don't see that as a problem).

Now say for example we just use 64kbps bitrate at a sampling rate of 44100kHz, the team would have about 120 minutes of total voice coverage to be able to work on (reduced to 100 for in-game linking purposes), that's still plenty of time to cover all attacks at similar quality.

  • well ill give you that point, but still as with MX on the psp these are used for testing beds maybe the next one, and a guy can dream.

  • Yeah, but then we come to the point that the MX iso was over 1 gigabyte.

Compared to a DS game's maximum of 128mb, it's a pretty big space difference.

  • MX was VA'd all over using a higher bitrate at a similar sample of 44100Hz under Sony's own ATRAC compression, and has the space advantage given its disc nature.

Different methods can be achieved for the DS' version of SRT to store voices for attack cutscenes only through different methods.

  • I didn't say that Va is only available for MX, i ment it as that there probably will be a sequal (seeing as this one lacks Va and MX has oversized loading time.)

  • Oh, well in that case, yes. Definitely.

I can assume that we'll get at LEAST 2 more sequels for the DS, and at least 1 for the PSP.

There's our room for improvement right there.

After all, if you compare SRWA to SRWJ, there's a BIG difference. I just hope that that difference can be seen with the DS games as well. ^^

  • it better else im gonna pay banpresto a visit :P

(but i kinda wonder wich letter('s) will be used for the next version's

  • Hope so.

Though SRT W is a good game, it felt very prototypical on the DS platform, mainly because it seems that SRT J's engine was used, hence the little improvements made visually (though audio is a big improvement over the GBA).

Hopefully in the upsoming sequels, they'll develop an engine suitable of harnessing the DS's potential. Banpresto's been good at that anyway =)

  • Indeed. They've got a full 60mb of improvement room. :P

Great improvements can be expected. After all, compare oh say...Impact to MX. Huge graphical difference, same console.

  • Ill kill you're dreams as fast as i can ;)

First of rockman Zx might have been fully voiced and all attacks in the tales series, but there's a differance between the smae va for 1 or 2 attacks or 5 to 7 Difefrant Va's per attack.

Incase you're not understanding what i mean, each attack has a differant dialog for criticol miss 100% 1 hit kill armor neglect etc. (to be continued)

  • I don't see why SRW in DS couldn't have voice acting, since many games in GBA have voices (Tales series for instance). But yeah I think it should've limited just to attack cutscenes.

  • Attack cuscenes alone would be good enough too IMO.

Anyways, SRT W does feel like an experimental SRT game for the DS. Banpresto hasn't made use of the DS's full capabilities yet, much of everything does feel GBA-ish, running on SRT J's engine.

Here's to hoping the next DS SRT will be a lot better =)

  • Very nice sync work there. It's nice how the sounds don't skip like in the clip you based this on, it's definately a plus.

Now all we have to do is pray for voices.

  • For the cartridge versions, its not impossible, but if you've seen Rockman ZX (which had poor voice acting by average standards), the sound sampling would have to be heavily reduced though.

  • Naw, it ain't like FFX's 1599984 damage Overkill o_o

  • yup, thats the goldion crusher alright, and...damn that is much scarier than the one in alpha 3.

  • I heard the one in Alpha 3 was limited to a 1 time use per battle.

    Is this true?

  • Yeah, it was.

It isn't in this one, right?

  • As long as you have the sufficient EN, you can pull off the Goldion Crusher as much as you want in this game =)

Its a pity it comes very late in the game though. Its useful as both a MAP attack and a single attack.

  • It's a lot more accurate to the OVA, too. I loved those little touches...too bad they didn't add Mikoto's "Ganbare!" bounce...

  • would of been a nice dynamic kill :P

  • actually they did, it's the last shot of the montage. but yea, no bounce =(

  • Wait you added the sound or is it in SRW?! Either way Fav!

  • I added the voices from the actual movie clip.

    Thanks =)

  • Wait... was that Golden Hammer I heard him say?

Was the charecter and mech from Gaogaiger?

  • No it's the Goldion Crusher, the strongest attack in Genesic's arselnal and yes to your other question
