@deejaycandee Are you two sure you have your facts correct. For one thing, I think you're referring to Ash Dargan...and AFAIK he's still alive and well. I don't know, nor have I ever heard of "Alan Dargan".
what the fuck with the crap comments this guy is really good ,, don't b down on these folk they are more in touch than u could ever understand even the those who fall victim to our white poisons
It is called circular breathing and takes a lot of practice. You learn to breath in in very short sniffs of air through the nose as you use your cheeks as bellows to keep the air moving for that brief moment. It involves building up and gaining better control of the muscles that are behind sleep apnea. In fact, learning to play the Didge and circular breathing is good for helping reduce sleep apnea.
I too am lucky to have met Alan, during a short visit to Sydney in 2002/03.I always hung out at Circular Quay with a friend of Alan, Mullion Ga (Rodney)who passed away in 2005 of a heart attack. Rodney took me to meet Alan, we had a few beers together and Alan and Rodney played some tunes together. Then Alan explained to me that women aren't allowed to play the didge in public and I respect that!!!)But Alan took my didge and played it, and I'm very honoured and will always remember.
I had the honor of meeting him, purely by accident in ASustralia. That is one of my most cherished memories, thank you for giving me that memory, along with the great music. Rest well, maestro.
Oh Alan! My first didge teacher! You will be missed! I'll blow didge for you for the next several days. May you be peaceful and happy in the Dreamtime!
