Of course big tobacco companies, car companies, beer companies, huge corporations would get product placement in movies - thats how it was in smoking's hey days and still is done with many products today. But today we are much more educated as to the health hazards of smoking and it is non existant in TV & Movies today. That actress just happens to be really good at portraying a smoker....i don't think it's appealing to have co-workers give you dirty looks and to smoke in a dirty alley.
These commercials are bullshit!! They are meant to make smokers want a cigarette. The cigarette companies are getting around anti-smoking commercials by showing this shit!!

As entertaining as this piece is, it clearly shows how absurd and to what extremes people will go to have their cigarettes. Once you begin to become parinoid about "Big Anybody" then you may as well hang it up.
The thing is, if you've ever tried to stop smoking, you'd know what seeing things like other people smoking does to you. Even little things like seeing her flick her cigarette has an effect. Why do uyou think tobacco companies paid big bucks to have the actors light up in the movies?

They are saying that most people smoke cigarettes when they are drinking, for example people smoke and drink when they are out at a bar. So they are saying rethink your smoking habit, it doesnt make sense to make a drink everytime you smoke so why does it make sense to have a smoke everytime you're at a bar or drinking.
I don't smoke and clearly this commercial is stupid and makes no real point. I don't even see why someone would really even care if someone did drink and smoke at the sametime. Thats like me bitching about someone eating a potato with their steak.
@mentalholocaust You are not a smoker so you wouldn't get this commercial. Smokers always smoke when they drink, be it alcohol, coffee or whatever. Point is that smokers will find any excuse to smoke.
....If the person is a smoker, why would they not smoke while alcohol or coffee? Why would they smoke while watching a movie? Why would they smoke when they are on the computer? Why would they smoke after having sex? Why would they smoke while taking a walk? Why would they smoke during a concert? BECAUSE THEY ARE A SMOKER! Pretty simple.
@mentalholocaust ...then you do get this commercial. Smokers do everything you just said...it would be a lot of funny commercials, but they chose the most common scenario - drinking alcohol. The point is that not everyone enjoys being around these smokers and the smokers are oblivious and or insensitive to everyone around them - and even themselves for that matter. SMOKING IS BAD!
@VUTSU Well, they make them smoke outside and if they are working with food they would wash there hands but other than that I don't see the big deal. Again, im not a smoker, im just glad to live somewhere im able to make that choice and have that freedom to smoke a cigarette or not.
...im not a smoker either. Working with food and smoking are two different things. Working with food is not a bad thing....smoking is. I agree with you though in that we are fortunate enough to live in a place where we can make a choice to smoke (have an opinion as well)....or wash our hands.
