I saw Sagans german version of Cosmos when i was 13 years old. It was the reason why i decided to study engineering and to work as Scientist which i am now since 15 years.. He and his books gave my life the impulse to be curious and open minded. I wish i could have told him that one day. . . .
I hate comments about the dislike bar, but this video needs one. Even if somehow you disagree strongly with what is being said in the video, Sagan's voice and the way he talks should be so soothing that nobody could dislike it. This video had to have been votebotted.
Light-years can be used to tell time. When we look at distant galaxies, galaxies 8 billion light years away. Those photons beam of light having been traveling across the vacuum of space for 8 billion years, traveling 186,000 mps. We see light from the galaxy as it looked 8 billion years ago, so we are essentially looking back into time.
Carl sagan is not just an astronomer, he had inspired many of us to take a deep interest and love in the vast cosmos and its mystery. He had made us feel like we are actually all connected in this universe. He was such an amazing and inspiring man, even though he had died, he will always and always live in my heart and the heart of so many others. We are so fortunate to have such great man on this "Pale Blue Dot"
why is there dislikes??? wtf?

Voted down by ignorant religious fanatics. Shame that reality is too incomprehensible for some to handle without self-delusion.

Brings a few memories back this series. Reckon they ought to repeat it on one of the Sattelite channels.
