NO idea what Joe is talking about! Unless he's talking about the previous owner when I bought that Ric at the Record Garage in Harvard Square from Billy Cole. Offered to sell it to Dave after a gig at Emerson College. He countered with a straight exchange for a '67 sunburst Strat which I have to this day. And to think I initially didn't want it because it was so beat up and worn...haven't seen the Ric since, from what I understand it went to one of the Hoods roadies and the neck broke.
Interesting transitional Rickenbacker- must be a '66 or '67 model 330 as it has the then new R tailpiece and knobs but with the original "toaster-top" pick-ups. Kewell!!
yup -dave bone's old rick. Dave saw the beatles & begged gramps, who told him "forget it" but 1 day gramps said "get in the car" like Dave's in trouble, i think he said 'yer gettin a haircut' & then took Bone to the music store & bought it for his 13th birthday, '64? i believe minnehan still has it. bone's in austin w/sons of hercules. i mention this rick in my new book [in prog] boston rules! my band cockwalkers play a great set of Hoods,Willie,Real Kids check us myspace/velveeta may 16 @plough
Good version! One of the biggest myths about punk was that you didn't need to be a decent musician or be be able to sing to be in a punk band. All those bands that believed that are long forgotten.
