  • I was raised on the great southern gospel bands of this era. Nothing stirs your spirit like the annointing of such great songs like this one. Ima JESUS FAN! Everything I do, I do it for the glory of the Lord and thank him for the wisdom he has given me.

  • I love I am a Jesus Fan, I heard the Paynes in concert when I went to Norman's Gospel's Sing in Dayton, Ohio! Norman has gone to be with our Lord now! I am a Jesus Fan!

  • i am proud to be a jesus fan,nothing better,he is with u always!

  • I really Love the annointing of this old time gospel,I think people need a new time dose.in 8th grade I saw a video of your band on the Norm Livingston show doing im not gonna wait till judgment day, I decided to sing it in front of the school morning breakfast club with the help of the playing of a school counselor.Praise Jesus I believe someone was touched by that.

  • i love this! Still applies today. Our Gospel groups today could learn soo much from this amazing family!

  • I am going to post this for my Pastor, James Wells. (Raceland Ky) He loves this song! I love it too!

  • When I was very young, my parents were good friends with the Payne family. After this song came out I cant remember me sing in front of alot of churches that my father would preach at. This is still one of my favorite songs!!!......Stacy Clere

  • I LOVE THE PAYNES THIS SONG REALLY TELLS THE TRUTH THEY ARE ALWAYS CROWDS AT BALL GAMES OR OTHER CONCERTS NOT GOSPEL OR ANYTHING TO DO WITH JESUS GOD BLEE ALL OF YOU REBA

  • This is the way we ought to feel. People spend way more on sports events than they do on His work. Thanks for the song!

  • You are right Stacy, we were regularly played on Reverend Mull's tv show. ....Mark

  • @paynesband Mike you helped me play my style in a lot of churches. My whole family got excited when we bought the album. We got it at the Roses store in Lexington, Va.. You and your family blessed millions of people and you really rocked the Wayesboro P.H. Church in 92. Of course 2 days later on my birthday, I had an appendicitis but I still was reeling from the feeling at that service and one in Stantoun. Lord bless you and your family.

  • Oh my! ... What a blessing to find this jewel! ... I used to watch this video every Sunday morning. I think it was on "The Mull's Sunday Singing Convention" ...Please correct me, if I have that wrong. I can soooo identify with Jesusfan4life aka Serena Poulson, I am now 34, and I suppose we were watching this at the same time, while growing up! It means so much to me to get to see this video again! Ha! I love it! Thank you, paynesband/The Paynes so, so much! God bless! <3 ~Stacy

  • Now... that's what I call music! I started singing that in church when I was like 12 and now I am 33 and sing it with my kids. I'm A Jesus Fan!!!!!! now and 4ever.. nothing better to get excited about!!

    Jesusfan4life aka Serena Poulson

  • Dude this video is awesome

Have you heard Susie McEntire Luchsingers version

    Whoa dude she is awesome!!

  • I AM A JESUS FAN! THIS IS A GREAT SONG

  • I saw the paynes in the early 1980s at the Welch Wv Armory, great time was had by all. I listened to their music for hours when I first got saved. My classmate, Bobby, played piano for them at that time..

  • Just great loving it.

I saw the Payne family in Evarts Ky when I was around 17 years old i am now 42 they where a great blessing.

I winder where they ever got ot i havent herd from them in years,im loving these videos.

  • I was interduced to the payne family when i was a little girl, my aunt traveled with them sometimes, i loved there music and the way Mike told his stories made even a little kid like me at the time understand, i would just like to thank the Paynes for following what God had them to do, by the way my aunts name is Gertha Hurst just in case you remember her.

  • I never knew there was a video to this song...just great ...when I was on radio I played this song what a hot number it was. We had one kid about 10 years old that would sing this song live on the air and it was so cool.thank you for this vid as it was a real blessing to see.

  • The cars changed from a GM to Ford because we borrowed a GM from a dealership, we needed a convertible, then another car hit it after 1 day of filming, totaled it, we had to get as close as we could to the 1st car and found the Ford to finish filming. That is my father and some of Loreen's family in the church scene. good catch on all of the above, thanks for writing. ....Mark Payne

  • Hello! Well, we've been curious for years regarding this video! First, why did the cars change from GM to Ford? Second, is that your dad in the church, and also some of Loreen's family? May God Bless!!!

  • I love all of the Paynes music. My Mom & Dad played this song for us when we were young and it left an impression on me that I have never forgotten! God Bless You !! and thanks!!

  • I remember at 8 years of age, getting up in front of the church congregation and singing "I'm a Jesus fan". I never knew who sang it but it never gets old. You never get too old to cheer for Jesus.

  • You are welcome Reggie; Reggie was the best harmonica and utility player that any group could have hoped for, he was truly a blessing to have as part of our band and funny to be around, love ya man. ....Mark Payne

  • hi mark, just wanted to say nice job putting the vids on,i played and traveled with the paynes a few years on the road and i think i speak for every member that has ever played when i say,"WASN'T it GREAT,"also i wanted to give a shout out to all my friends, thanx baby, reggie grimmett

  • Im gonna leave you with a video of a group that the paynes inspired........we love trying to do this song... but the paynes do it awsome.

  • I have to say The Payne were Awsome.

  • Larry Petree is nothing but a trouble maker. He is a judgemental hair and make up man. If he was half the writer as Mike Payne he wouldnt make such hateful comments!

  • After writing and defending Mike and the Paynes, Larry Petree sent me a nasty message and said that Mike only had 5 hit songs compaired to his 50 hits and told me to do the math. He also said he was a Bible man not a hair and makeup man.

  • The "concept" videos we made were:

    "I'm A Jesus Fan"

    "The Good Shepherd"

    "Walkin' The Streets"

    "God Wants You"

We also did a Photo Montage Video called "Nothing can Hold Me Here" and we did two out-take, blooper, life on the road videos called "Under New Management" and "Heavenly Express". I hope this helps.

  • Thanks for the videos of such an anointed group!! How many concept videos did y'all make?

  • Thanks so much for putting these videos on here! I am 29 years old so I was just a kid when you all stopped singing but you have been one of my favorite groups to LISTEN to. It is great to finally get to WATCH you all!

  • Thank you, I remember when we debuted the video at The National Quartet Convention and the crowds we got at our booth to watch it, the 1st Southern Gospel video that told a story just like MTV. Word Records flew me and my brother Mike to Nashville to pick my brain on how we did it, it was fun times, I have always felt that God deserved our best and it was important that we used whatever medium we had to tell a touching, and sometimes funny story that would attract people to the Kingdom.....Mark

  • A well done video...Love the music
