If you listen to the lyrics, the song is actually kinda depressing, yet every time I listen to this one it makes me INCREDIBLY happy .......That's the Magic of Springsteen!
I've never stopped to listen, let alone read the lyrics to this one, till now. Deep! I think anyone can relate to this song at one or another time in their own lives - as far as break up songs go.
Just the right tune to crank and drive fast to after a breakup :D
This music,Bruce Springsteen`, is part of our north American culture, part of growing up here.It is in our memories,in the way we dress ,in the way we see our selves. And it is excellent party music.Growing up with this kind of music was and is still lots of fun.And my girlfriend and me love dancing to this tune too.
@KwiatkowskiArtur I am so fucking sick of this bieber crap on every video. enough already. enjoy the frigin music. Watching his vid gives him more frigin money and rock isn't dying bcuz of him either, in fact, it's not dying at all. and i cnt bleev im saying this but the kid has feelings too. If u dnt like bieber, dnt go 2 his vids, simple as tht
I first listened to this over 25 years ago and I still keep coming back to it. One of the best tracks from Bruces big book of songs, absolutely brilliant live. I think this version is from Kemper arena in Kansas without the long intro....fab.
im 12 years old a and when i first heard this song it was in tulsa april 7 2009 it was one of the best days of my life. a year later, me and my dad got tickets to see him in kansas city. if your a fan of the boss you probably know that his cousin died that day so the concert was cancelled and i feel bad, not just because that concert was cancelled, but because his cousin actualy died. that night realy sucked
@WHATSUPEOPLES I'm 14 and I was 12 the first time I heard the song as well. Which is kinda weird that I was 12, but that I have been raised with The Boss and I hadn't heard it before.
@supercalafrgusydney Well give yourself a break. This song was on an album that came out 12 years before you were born, and 11 years after his first album. He has something like 16-17 studio albums of original music, none of it bad (except for Mary Queen of Arkansas). His 300+ songs, come in five categories. Good; Very Good; Great; Better Than Great; and Epic Timeless Classic. I'd call I'm Going Down, Very Good. The classics? I'd need 5000 characters and I only have 20 left.
@Anna00555 That's a great description of Bruce's songs. 5 categories! LOL. Loving it.
There is also another description of a Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band Live Performance: Communion,... because even an atheist like me can feel a divine presence as Bruce walks up and down that stage. I mean this sincerely, not as a joke. Bruce Springsteen Concerts are the only religious experiences I've ever had in my life.
this soo beautiful, giving a smile in the face, heart and soul!! those legends smiling at each other, knowing themselves their whole lifes. blood brothers.

I think that regarding to a fashion, Bruce's outfits can be called as "grunge" especially in 80's.

George Orwell predicted a domineering government that watches you everywhere in 1984, but I've gotta say that I prefer this version of 1984.
This is such classic 1980s Bruce.
mzann14 11 months ago
@mzann14 He didnt predict it would happen in 84, the book was made in 48 so he just switched to make it into a futuristic book.
