Thanks for your in-depth description of your gear. It's a real must for me! I also watched the video you posted, the one outside your house snapping a Bluebird. You covered, exposure times, settings and also the reason for using a flash on the day. I believe as a consequence of your absolute coverage my photography has now improved. Many thanks. By the way, well done on winning a pair of binoculars.
@Gunner5053 That's what it's all about man....making a channel that's useful and entertaining. Thankfully my videos have improved significantly since this one though. =)
Nice video, I just walked a nice trail today and for those that don't know, 30 pounds feels like 100 pounds after about 20 or so minutes so, pack light as you can... and be ready to pack up and head out...But always make sure you didn't leave anything or drop anything. You won't want to to go back and retrieve it later..if you can even find it..Lens caps, filter and such tend to disappear easily on the trail! Thanks Man!
Hey there Collin, I am getting into photography (will be mostly wildlife). I will be getting the Rebel T1i to start out with and a T-mount for my ETX-80 telescope to use as a 400mm telephoto which should work ok for now. Any way you mentioned you use a 1.4x Kenko teleconverter, now do these reduce image quality a lot or a little and should I buy the 1.4x Canon or the Kenko? I know the Canon is expensive but is it worth its extra buck. Please help. Also, keep up with the vids, I enjoy watching.
@SBMFfilms I read reviews stating that there was very little difference in IQ between the Kenko and the Canon, that's why I bought the kenko at about half price. Images are still plenty sharp with the TC.
@FrobblOo The flash will lighten up any shadow areas caused by harsh sunlight. In this case, the problem was worse because the large cypress tress created shade nearly all day. Where there wasn't shade, there were harsh beams of light cutting through the tree tops. Either way, flash helped.
Just on Canon rumors.....It may be around the corner, who knows? I'm very happy with the 50D though and I wouldn't use the video function if I had it.
I have been using my Canon 40D for about a year now and I'm wanting to upgrade to a 50D very soon but I have been hearing rumours of a 60D to be released at the end of tghe year that comes with HD video! Has anyone else heard of this??

What camera bag did you use in this video? It looked quite nice.
Narkodas 2 years ago
It's a Lowepro Lenstrekker. It's very nice, and actually reasonably priced- something that's not true with most photography equipment.
flecktonesrock 2 years ago
It certainly looks like a nice bag, and it's pretty usefull to store a lens like that inside the bag that easily.
Sadly, it is a fact photography equipment is expensive most of the time yeah..
