Another thing about the cargo space on the GT... Its only a cubic foot total! If you put anything up there it will certainly bake or get very hot because of the close proximity to the radiatiors, learned first hand.

The ford's 1,100 HP when it got to a higher RPM. Since it uses less cylinders (assuming it's using a V8), it has less torque off the bat and the revs need to get up. The ZR1 is tuned (and built) differently and has more torque. It used the improvements to be better off the line.

It has a range of about 70-80 miles on a tank of gas, it has no storage area what so ever. You could not transport even 3 bottles of soda in the car if you had a passenger.

And the SUPERCHARGED 5.8 in the GT500 makes 650, which beats out the Vette with less displacement and more power. Chevy will always be behind.

Since Ford was already losing money on every GT produced they didn't want to spend more money redesigning the car to fit the new regulations just to keep it going, so they stopped production.

I don't think you understand the difference. If how you define a super car or hyper car is accurate, then why is a Lotus Evora called a Super Car? It's slow, handles good, and has a cheap interior. McLaren F1.....very fast, sparse interior. Ferrari F40, fast, crappy Interior. Nissan GTR, fast, cheap interior (including plastic). Aston Martin, most are slow, but have great interiors.

And to those saying the GT can only go in a straight line, please look up some LeMans history on the GT-40 and the new GT. The old one was built just to beat ferrari, so that's what it did. The new one is right up there with the guys still today. It's not only a straight line speed car.

The ford's 1,100 HP when it got to a higher RPM. Since it uses less cylinders (assuming it's using a V8), it has less torque off the bat and the revs need to get up. The ZR1 is tuned (and built) differently and has more torque. It used the improvements to be better off the line.

No, not just because of track times. Track times just prove it's a better performance car all the way around. It's claimed fuel economy is a lie. It has a range of about 70-80 miles on a tank of gas, it has no storage area what so ever. You could not transport even 3 bottles of soda in the car if you had a passenger.
All the Ford GT boils down to is a toy. It's not a real useful car. So yes a Corvette is a better car, because you can use it to live with, and race with.

No, the Ford GT does not have storage space. Pay attention to the hood of the GT. That takes up the 'truck'. So it looks like space when you open it is deceptive. The hood part that sinks in fills it. It has ZERO space.
The Corvettes and Vipers have real trucks that you can use. As does most other front engine vehicles like an Aston Martin, Ferrari 550, 575, 599, etc.

-yes you can. the trunk does not block all the storage space as you claim; about 50% is blocked by the dip in the hood as you stated correctly, however, not all 100% is blocked. there is most certainly room for one, or two, small carry-on type bags, even when the hood is closed; the bags will just have to be positioned carefully/correctly.

No, see unlike most people, I'm not biased. I say what is, not what I like most. The Corvette is a better car overall. It has a large cargo area so you can use it every day, it gets better fuel mileage, has a lower cost of ownership, is a better car on a road course.

And Chevy doesn't make anything with over 500 HP n/a in a stock vehicle, but Ford does with the 6.2 in the Raptor R, and the Boss 777, which makes 700 HP @ 7,000 RPM in a 6.2 bored and stroked to a 7.0 L. And the SUPERCHARGED 5.8 in the GT500 makes 650, which beats out the Vette with less displacement and more power. Chevy will always be behind.

@MicroOrginisum The GT was built for the GT40's anniversary, but they discontinued it because the gov changed the regulations for all cars and the GT didn't comply for 2007. Since Ford was already losing money on every GT produced they didn't want to spend more money redesigning the car to fit the new regulations just to keep it going, so they stopped production.

Slow vette? Stock for Stock, Ford makes nothing that can beat the Z06 or ZR1 in a straight line or on the Nurburgring. Period. So I don't get your 'slow vette' statement. The ZR1 is the falg carrier for the U.S.A on the international racing benchmark course, with only 1 car confirmed to be able to beat it on the nurburgring that is a standard production car.....and that car, the Gumpert Apollo, is $400k.

Yeah on the "Nurburgring", its a single track, you can't conclude anything from that.
The ZR1 beats the 458 on the ring, so in your eyes the ZR1 is the faster car. Wrong, the 458 averaged faster times across 14 different tracks, making the 458 "over-all" a faster car the the ZR1 and its the same for most cars the the ring list

I have not seen a 458 beat a ZR1 on any track, but the tighter the track, the more advantage the 458 would have.(Like Top Gears little track) But, People are talking about the ZR1 vs Ford GT, and you have to bring up a Ferrari 458? I don't believe you, obviously, but what was the average margin of 'victory' for the 458 in your claims? Less than a second? What is the price difference in the cars? 458 is what, 120k more than a ZR1? Why not bring up a Gumpert Apollo at 400k?

Sports cars are designed to be as fast as a Super car but with out the luxuries so it can be affordable to a wider audience.
The 458 is a beautiful machine, a work of art. Quality inside and out has to be paid for.

I don't think you understand the difference. If how you define a super car or hyper car is accurate, then why is a Lotus Evora called a Super Car? It's slow, handles good, and has a cheap interior. McLaren F1.....very fast, sparse interior. Ferrari F40, fast, crappy Interior. Nissan GTR, fast, cheap interior (including plastic). Aston Martin, most are slow, but have great interiors.
The criteria for a Supercar Performance and Exclusivity.
Hyper car is those, but in excess.

"What makes a car a super car" You'll never understand until you have been around these cars, it's not performance that determines what class a car is but what it is like to drive as a whole car, any expert on this planet would with out a doubt chose to drive a f40 over a ZR1 whether it's faster or slower. Stop with your assumptions. I've driven a Z06, a R35 GTR, a Lotus Elise, and I've ridden in a Lamborghini Gallardo, Aston Martin DB9, Ferrari 430, and two Porsche 911 Turbos (996 and 997). I've 'been around' those types of cars often.
I want to drive an Aventador and a Ferrari 458, but I don't have the required finance to even sit in them at a showroom.
All you are giving is your opinion. Top Gear calls the R35 a Supercar, and the ZR1 a Supercar, as well as many others.

@Curveball ZR1 and GTR are made specifically for the purpose of high-performance for very little price, it's why they are Sports cars. Super cars are a whole world different to Sports cars. Super cars are meant to be eccentric, dramatic, materialistic and crazy fast. Lamborghini are a perfect example of super cars. Sports cars are suppose to be pure fast and minimalistic so they can be affordable to a wider audience.
Just because they are faster than some super cars doesn't make them super cars

@namybot ZR1 is considered a supercar due to the fact that it can break the 200mph range as a production car straight from the dealer. The GTR can't do that.
And to those saying the GT can only go in a straight line, please look up some LeMans history on the GT-40 and the new GT. The old one was built just to beat ferrari, so that's what it did. The new one is right up there with the guys still today. It's not only a straight line speed car.

Henry tried to beat Ferrari by him self for over six years, Henry was nothing to Enzo, Enzo each year would humiliate Henry and spit in his face. So Henry couldn't cope any more and gave up hope in American engineers, he hired Lotus engineers( British engineers) to build a car that could win Le Mans and that's exactly what the good old British boys did for four years.

I actually watched a Documentary on discovery channel about classic Le Mans cars and I watched to one after that about classic F1 rivals. I also have talked to a lot of people and have gathered my deep knowledge of automotive enthusiasm/history over the past 13 years of my life, I know my cars.
BTW I'm British not Italian.

The 2005 Ford GT is COMPLETELY a Ford product, rethought and redesigned by SVT. Try reading the book FORD GT, facts can be interesting.

Wrong if you haven't driven a FWD car you wouldnt know, I have driven both. FWD you will have no risk of over steer, Also FWD handles great int he snow that is personal experience.
RWD you are prone to spin out, Also if you hit ice on a RWD car you are screwed, annd stuck. Why do you think only Subaru's,Audi's and AWD/FWD are the only vehicles out in snow. You dont see a Corvette or BMW M3 in the snow. And if someone drives a RWD like that in the snow they are retarted.

In the hands of an expert rally driver yes!!! but with normal drivers NO, RWD is not as good in snow as FWD or AWD. In GOOD WEATHER, RWD is great. FWD sucks in normal conditions, but in Snow FWD will always be better.

I hear it all the time: "that evo is AWD so it'll be great on a road course"....blah blah blah.....Absolute garbage.
