If any of you have read "Dracula" then you will know that this film is a disaster. Gary Oldman as "The Count"? He is not a "bisilisk" he is a flower in a bat cave, an insult to Stokers creation, he has no chance of ever been perceived as the true Dracula, ever! Type O are seriously cool though.

It's just as well anyway. Bram Stoker made a (perhaps unintentional) mockery characterization of Vlad the Impaler. So in a way, it's poetic justice for someone to take what he wrote and re-imagined it.

@GlendaCockran I disagree. His performance is as much a consequence of the screenwriters' influence as it is his own style. Observe the scene when he's feeding the baby to his whores.. the laugh is stellar. I think he captured the far-gone satanic side of the character from the book, while trying to balance having a vulnerable love interest too.
