  • makes you look stupid sayin that kenseisato1989 sakuraba fought a deff way they all of them and he used to pratice months and months trying to find a way to beat royce after he fought ryan

  • i was going to like this untile i saw the one with sakuraba.

  • :56 is what would happen to anderson silva if he fought royce...

  • royce plays a very tight and solid jiujitsu game and its very effective!

  • the reffs sucked back then lol

  • Royce Gracie is AWESOME!!!! Wow!!!

  • The guy below me should kill himself

  • this dude sucks ass .....

  • You just know Gracie is like... gimme... gimme... gimme... gimme... gimme... and these idiots give their arms to him. LMAO!!! Truly one of my favorite fighters of all time.

  • scroll up your missin the video

  • He was the Rolls Royce of the Gracies.

  • There's a lot missing here. Still too many rules to say that these techniques would win out all the time. Monkey grabs the oranges and the fight is over, and one guy is singing soprano the rest of his life!

  • @bangingthedrum monkey snatches the peach*

  • @bangingthedrum That was legal.

  • The entire Gracie family is beyond talented, period.

  • technique beats size.

  • NI MICHAEL MYERS LE GANA...

  • walkereliza57 Well in that case........ its ok

    hahaahahah

  • EternalV2 Wtf are you saying ? I have fought a couple of times now and the fighter IS aware when you tap, its pretty easy to know and feel. Have you ever fought ? Yes rules were diferent but qhen the guy taps, its done. It doesent mater, and if you se in the video, the ref tells him to stop several times. Dont think i dont admire him, its just that i dont like this atitude.

  • @pedromenozzi1 watch UFC ULTIMATE ROYCE GRACIE....he held that guy because he bit his ear.....you can even watch it here on youtube...plus that guy was a nazi and disrespected everybody when he did his raciest salute when he enter the octagon...he deserved to get choked out

  • he is a awesome figther but bad athlete. He just kept with the submissions even when the oponent taps out. Thats ridiculous

  • @pedromenozzi1 when you are fighting like that, you are not aware that the other guy just tapped, you are worried about holding your submission, and being sure to react to any attempt at a break. And back then the rules were alot different, ref's weren't as quick to react, and the fighter only stops when the ref tells him to, otherwise he could be letting go of his one chance at winning.

  • Only second to Saku.

  • love him

    nohomo

  • His my idol

  • I really doubt that gracie would have much sucesses in present ufc

  • @UN1T3DW3C4N they was a whole lot tougher back then they had no weightclass these days they have weight classes and rules i think he would be good but idk cause alot of people know his techniques

  • I love the no gloves, but without them the sport would have not evolved to what it is today.

  • epic video without top comment? =o

  • Filmed with a butterknife

  • had he fought a real fighter you would never heard of this shit bum

  • This was real UFC.. none of that gay shit we see today.. Stupid yanks and their "safety comes first!!! lol..

  • That omoplata was fucking disgusting, holy crap he got that deep

  • Thx ill go look it up, i was bobbing my head Watching the video haha

  • What is the first song that is playing halfway after the video is done playing? Someone please tell me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @AllusernamesgoneFUCK that was Twisted Metal 4 I believe I forgot whats it call lol

  • royce gracie WHO??? a fucking nobody!!!

  • @KKKJOKER82 The guy who would FUCK you up in 2 seconds.

  • @KKKJOKER82 Sorry but your quote reveals your ignorance.

  • the ref before are too slow to stop the fight they are dumb ass

  • who did see nicolas cage thumbs up! 04:21

  • Royce is a legend, beating guys twice his size with pure technique, he would fight 4 or 5 times a day

  • Royce is a beast, this is back when fighters fought 4 or 5 times a day, no weight classes, just pure heart

  • Wow!

  • MARCO RUAS was the first real MMA guy he put effective striking and grappling together in the UFC, ahead of his tiime, and he is THE REAL MMA LEGEND FROM BRAZIL. The man has been crosstraining since the 70's and 80's, before he came to the UFC his record in No Holds Barred Vale Tudo was 300-0 besides Rickson Gracie. I give Royce Gracie his respect for bringing BJJ to the UFC, I give Marco Ruas more respect because he was not one dimensional like Royce was and Ruas was doing MMA before the UFC.

  • Royce Gracie is a legend and he is good at what he does, he introduced BJJ to the UFC and got people in the United States wanting to learn BJJ and I resect him for that, there is no disrespect for Royce, But he left the UFC right when it started to get good you had Mark Kerr, Ken Shamrock, Bas Rutten, Don Frye, Marco Ruas, Tank, Gary Goodridge, etc. so I cant say as a fighter Royce was great, if anybody I would say Renzo Gracie was great, he would fight anybody rather win, lose, or draw.

  • don't you get it? it's very simple, royce gracie just simply introduces how effective bjj in mma world or let's just say his the reason why i'm a bjj practitioner right now.. so don't ever disrespect royce gracie.

  • @rustanlyify I am not talking about what his family did, if it was not for his family it would be no BJJ and I respect them for that, but if we talking about Royce Gracie as a Fighter, he struggles against other high skilled grapplers. It was a rumor in Brazil going around that Marco Ruas wanted to fight Royce no holds barred back in the day during the early UFCs, but they said Ruas was to dangerous as a fighter. Marco Ruas was a man that could strike and grapple effective before the UFC.

  • lol in the beginning its funny that even the commentators did not know how to escape ahaha

  • I 'm happy Kazushi Sakuraba beat Royce Gracie in the first fight, If you notice Royce is not all that good when he fights other skilled grapplers, but he will beat you if you dont no how to grapple. In my opinion the only reason why Royce won the first couple of UFC's was because it was not another skilled BJJ guy in the tournament, if Mario Sperry, or Marco Ruas would have entered UFC 3 or 4 and had to fight Royce in the tournament, ROYCE WOULD HAVE GOT THE GI BEAT OFF OF HIM.

  • @kerr927 I hope you realize the Gracie family is the reason BJJ exists, and everyone that trains under them are some of the best fighters today.

Royce is and will always be one of the best MMA fighters. When you can beat people 2-3 times your size, I think you have some kind of a talent.

  • watch Royce Gracie VS Sakuraba Royce Gracie got beat like a bitch

  • @mitsubishidiamante Yeah no shit, Sakuraba is known as the gracie killer. Also he's a complete fighter, ground work and a bit of striking.

  • don't get me wrong, royce is the man; but his ground game really was boring. few bjj i could ever endure watching go to the ground for a full fight. bj penn, ricardo arona among just a few really.

  • how can u call gracie his bitch thanks to gracie we got ufc .matt hughes at stand up sucks think about that

  • Matt Hughes made Royce his bitch in their fight. Im belted in BJJ, and wrestled in highschool. I am a fan of both, and respect both, cuze Ive been beaten by both. However, MMA these days is different then back then. Guys know BJJ and they know how to wrestle. So being one dimensional will not take you to the top anymore. You HAVE to be well rounded. Case closed.

  • @farrmma I never got proficient in wrestling so i had to learn judo lmao

  • beating kazushi sakuraba? c'mon, dont lie, royce is a great fighter, but sakurara humilliates him in their first fight, in the second he beat sakuraba by desicion, but he was tested positive on steroids... so apparently he was cheating the fight ...

  • @sipplet2009 That's actually a slander against both fighters. You are saying Royce threw the fight, but he is too honorable and egotistical to do that. I'm not buying it. This is a guy who has let people break his joints rather than tap out. I don't think he let anyone win to be a nice guy.

  • This is back when UFC was the fuckin shit!!! I loved watchin it then.

  • lol..!!! royce is a legend!!! no one can change that... even xperts proclaimed!!!!.. long live royce!!!

  • the fighters back then were just brawlers.... royce just took advantage of this..... in his prime he would get destroyed in ufc today

  • @0salot duh, jiu jitsu is constantly evolving, and everyone is training in it, look at our champions today, they all have a backround in the ground arts...

  • @Sal1the1great lets be honest the ground game is extremely boring.... people understood they needed gg to prevent losing to boring arrogant wannabe legends such as royce... he took advantage of the fighters who had never been on their back in their life, and as soon as he came up against fighters after ufc 5, his career flopped. after ufc 5 he had 7 fights, won just 3, only 1 by sub..... indeed he was a pioneer of the ground game, but definitely not a legend

  • @0salot the ground game is rarely boring. there are certainly times when it can be, but overall i think its at least as exciting as when people are exchanging standing up. i'd rather see people engaged than standing and faking punches all night.

  • I loled at 2:20 hahaha look at the guy!

  • @gilzineto lol too bad he didnt fall off

  • obviously*

  • wow this is crazy

  • Why did you paste, " Michael " in the background?.... hehe. I like Royce Gracie the most, btw.

  • you should take off the clip when he wins against kazushi sakuraba he was on steroids when he won

  • i meeting him for the second time 2morow!!!

  • I love Royce only thing i dont like about him is he seemed almost like he really wanted to hurt people in the UFC he dint let go even after they tapped out.

  • @Tony007corp - ( with respect ) believe me bro , its not that royce wanted to hurt people , its just that he once had a choke hold on a ken shamrock . and when ken tapped out the ref did NOT see it , but just as royce let go of ken on time like hes supposed to do - ken quickly grabbed royce's ankle and tried to do damage to royce . so in his very next fight that same night with gerard gordeau , royce began not letting go until the ref (makes) both men let go . ( with respect ) holla

  • @Tony007corp FIrst off...UFC was TOTALLY different then. It was NHB and it was more survival of the fittest. They billed it as bloodsport. You are comparing it to modern UFC. Like the first fight against the french guy...the guy bit Royces ear during the fight so he was basically holding the choke to let the guy know what was up.

  • @orange105 Couldn't agree more, I cant watch the new UFC its fucking GARBAGE!!!!

  • @revwilhelm7 ur stupid . the ufc now would rape the old school fighters retard in there prime .

  • @500TD500 You know this because you can clearly go back in time place the fighters against eachother and make an accurate staement? I love how parents let thier 13 year old kids have internet access. to be honest thats like saing Tyson would have raped Ali in his prime. Plus you missed the whole point of my comment, fact is the RULES they added is why i quit watching UFC! let them go at it like a street brawl in a cage. obviosly you know about the gracies!

  • @Tony007corp man you should never let go, not until the ref makes you. That way you know you've won

  • This guy lives down the street from me! Torrance Ca! Hes a fucking machine

  • I love how the boxer admitted to tapping out because he was scared XD just awesome!

  • outa the ring, OUTA THE RING, OUTA THE RING!!!

  • how can people hate on royce gracie the best of all time u can talk shit on him but do you have the balls to face him one on one

  • my brother goes to his gym where his sister works, ive met him before and he is a really nice guy

  • i think he's choking the guy with his own gi and twisting his thumb at 3:55 crazy.

  • gracie do not respect his opponent even if they already surrendering.thats why he deserved his lost to matt hughes.he is so arrogant.

  • Innovator that made mma what it is today. True showcase of how skill and knowledge overcomes power

  • lool

  • Jim Brown dont know shit, well he can whip his ol ladys ass.

  • kk, the name is Dragula from Rob Zombie :)

  • What is the name of the song 3:30!

  • I could take on Royce Gracie!............with a shotgun.

  • @JahnosSardonis nah he'd just grapple the bullet tbh ^^

  • one of the BEST of MMA!

  • who's the boxer guy?

  • @liomiranda You can find his name in the "The last Gracie" or so, he was top 10 in that time.

  • thankx

  • fedor wil kill gracie....lol

  • @hagekg in your dream .

  • @hagekg in your dream . in fact fedor loose in strike forces two timnes with brasilians . i am sure that you are retard or somenthing special.

  • gracie was good for his time. but if there was a time machine, i bet any present ufc fighter could rock him in the first round easily. the sport has evolved my friends. UFC then was garbage compared to ufc now lol tank abbot hoyce gracie, belfort? lol give me a break. hoyce would get knocked out by bj penn, belfort by anderson silva, tank abbot by kimbo slice and he's the worst ufc fighter out there. the only good fighter from back then was couture. and he's still good.

  • @turbo72stang prime gracie would rock anyone...literally put heavy weights with him and he would beat them one at the time and probably in the same day... this new fag shit is getting annoying

  • GRACIE'S DISGRACE TO MARTIAL ARTS: watch?v=Bva9z9MowIc&feature=related WATCH THIS TO SEE WHY!!!!

  • 4 guys that royce beated post negative here lol

  • whats the name of the songs?

  • man the lord of fighters

  • i respect this guy...i must say...he has the balls to get the job done...i think any fighter should have this quality.......i've seen other fighters knock out similar opponents ....i've also experienced grapplers, wrestlers, and even jiujitsu practioners get a beating in and outside the ring.....no martial art is greater than the other... "its NOT the techniques...but the person that wields it"

  • where are the gloves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @alijoseify lmfao! that was mean but hilarious

  • The first UFC was nothing but a giant infomercial for the superiority of Gracie jiu jitsu. And the thing is, they turned out to be completely correct. Few suspected the amazing applications to sport fighting. All fighters are in debt to the Gracies for evolving/beginning MMA. And to think that Royce did this during a time when they allowed groin strikes and head butts makes it even more impressive. After all, receiving a head butt when you're on your back is no fun.

  • technique vs strenght

  • oops 2:20. hahaha coulda been bad.

  • best fighter of all time, all time, he difined the sport

  • @ukhouseRJ sure he defined the sport but not best fighter of all time....

  • best ufc fighter ever =)

  • royce gracie without a doubt best fighter mma has every had.

  • @GoWclutch actually that distinction would have to go to Fedor or of course the Gracie Hunter Kazushi Sakuraba. I found it funny how this vid said "all his fights" but glossed over Saku's win over him, aswell as Yoshida and Hughe's. And not showing any of the 2nd fight with Saku where most pundits thought he lost and he tested positive for steroids for.

  • classic UFC = real life blood sport

  • now everyone is a little homo with there tap out shirts punching a punching bag saying I'm a mma fighter, back then only rules no kicking no eye goging other than that no limit. now they got weight classes royce was a middleweight fighting Light Heavyweights, Heavyweights, and super heavy weights now mma is a sport this was a street fight. I remeber when shamrock tapped someone out they booood cause they didn't know what a submisson now look it the game gracie is the babe ruth of mma.

  • for real

  • lol nickolas cage wus there

  • @FutebolBrasileiro Are you talking about the fans or his opponent.

  • Royce was such a beast

  • @1Mafioso4 how long would steve atwater last vs royce. john travolta vs royce?

  • @1992lance Royce would submit them so fast, they have no cardio or grappaling ability

  • @1Mafioso4 atwater played nfl football. haha. but how quickly in the 1st round would it end?

  • @FutebolBrasileiro just to say something funny, what if royce fought john travolta?!

  • what the hell was that halloween michael myers shit? kinda freaky

  • is it me or does royce sound A LIL drunk in the 1st 10 seconds

  • @FutebolBrasileiro i wanna see that royce vs current rampage or rashad, more preferrably rashad. opinion please?!

  • @1992lance I would like to see that rampage slam on royce that he put down in the arona fight. That would show how far the sport has came in the power and skill dept.

  • @dad2ujunior eh, that'd be interesting. i mean, rampage is 205, royce is 175. but royce im still a royce fan. rampage too though

  • @dad2ujunior Nah that slam isn't to hard to counter although with rampage weighing so much more it could maybe work

  • Royce grace. I have no respect of him. Yes a great fighter. I lost all respect as a fighter for him when I would watch gracie hold onto fighters after sometimes long after they tap and the ref is stopping the fight. Bad sportsmanship. Horrible show of class. He can hall of fame his ass.

  • wheres the ron van clief fight.

the kung fu man who got rear naked choked.?

  • lol ufc was really gay back then

  • i call gracie the anaconda..coz when he gets hold of you..your dead

  • hes good, but he really stopped the submission after the guy tap'ed that is a pussy move, he wanted to break the fighters arm and stuff?? In that video u can see like 4 times, the opponent taps, and royce DONT stop to submit..... that actually suckz

  • @BenX115 thats because the fight before that gracie made his huy tap and the reff didnt see it so being the same ref he was just making it clear that he tapped

  • @BenX115 Yeah I guess you're right....to an extent. The fighters are trained not to stop until the referee ends the fight, and as you saw some of the refs were extremely bad. Like in that 1 where he had the choke, and the guy tapped with both hands but the ref was too much of a pussy to stop the fight. So, although you're right he should have stopped, it is also some of the refs' fault for not being proactive.

  • @clewis102007 thats because when gracie was doing his thing no one knew wtf he was doing.... so the referee didnt no wtf to do.

  • Royce Gracie kick azz but i what too see him fight Brock Lesnar and who wel win

  • el mejor de todos mis respetos a ese men

  • what the fuck does michael myers have to do with Royce Gracie?

  • i think now wrestling combined with learned striking dominates mma now

  • He's like fucking velcro......

  • I followed MMA since they had no weight limit, no time limit and no gloves. Royce Gracie has my eternal respect for both his accomplishments and his contributions to MMA.

  • @IronfistAmerican All Royce did was take advantage of people who didn't know the ground game.

  • @xIegionx

yeah he used his strength, and exposed weakness'. thats what a good fighter does no? if you want to see standing up fists flying fights, go watch "so you think you can fight"

    yah goof

  • @dasilvan Hey shit for brains, Royce onlyl won cause no one knew the ground. After that he got choked out by Yoshida and dominated by Hughes. It was simply because he knew something others didn't. Today BJJ alone wouldn't last. You need all elements. If you like ground game so much and not MMA, go watch jiu jitsu tourns.

  • @dasilvan STUPID WHITE MOTHA FUCKA

  • This guy defined the sport. Nobody advances in MMA without Brazilian Jujitsu or an equivilent. He showed that there is no position that cannot be turned to advantage. No weight classes when he started, either. Styles make fights, and until people began learning his style, nobody could hang with him. Freaking amazing. Everybody got schooled when they watched him fight.

  • It was ground game that was made aware of. There are wrestlers who've beaten Jiu Jitsu black belts. It was ground game tha twas important not BJJ. BJJ is good, but compared to Sambo and sub wrestling, they're on par. Maybe different names or different stuff, but I've seen a black belt get schooled by a Muay Thai guy who merely sprawled.

  • @xIegionx Whatever wrestling is for stupids, BJJ are for smart you are a loser.fuck you

  • LOL, you're such an idiot. If that's true, why did Matt Hughes, a WRESTLER beat Royce Gracie?

Why did Helio Gracie reject a fight against Judoka and wrestler, Gene Lebelle?

Why did the Gracies offer Benny the Jet a fight for money, and backed out after they learned of his wrestling background?

Because they realized they would have problems with an opponent who could fight on the ground.

You're so stupid, I bet I can out wrestle your Jiu Jitsu and punch your face in. OL

  • ty wrestling is the way to go

  • @xIegionx that was royce. however renzo gracie personally disposed of wrestlers left right and centre, as do most other bjj combatants against wrestlers in general.

nobodies perfect, i guess royce just had a weakness against wrestlers in particularler

  • @mikemaster724 It really would come down to who had superior ground skills. Renzo went for 1-2 takedowns (bad ones might I add) against hughes. Surely he should've worked on taking Hughes to a more comfortable place, instead he wanted to have a boxing match with him and lost out. Maybe he was aware of Hughe's more dominate ground game.

  • who was he telling to f off at the end?

  • you know i have to admit i wish he still fought

  • i think now sense a lot of ppl know bjj i think the best fighting backround to fight in is greco-roman wrestling because wrestling is tough and once they have a limb they work on that

  • @surfer260 that is for gays like you, roman greco fucking asshole technique.

  • every number one mma fighter knows wrestling

  • there are lots of ground games, but it seems wrestling and bjj are the tops. Some people know both. I think Hughes knows both.

  • @jimpy419, go find a new fucking sport, not all fights are stand up

its harder to get the submission than it is to knock someone out

all u need is one lucky punch and its over, but it takes alot of time to be good on the ground

  • And WHAT THE FUCK is up with the Mike Myers mask in the second half of the video? what the helll was that about?

  • good boys!

  • royce boring hey pal thats the way he fights he is the best oh and if chuck is so good the why did he get knocked out by shogun
