it has been a decade since that was a dried up unused golf course, the water is fine to drink, there are very few homeless, evry city has drugs, there are like 5 prostitutes who are in there late 40's , i have lived here my entire life and this guy is lying , I have been seeing alot of these videos as well as adds in housing classifieds saying dont come to kelowna, its a terrible place, if it wasnt for people coming here and our tourism our local economy would fall apart.

This town has turned into a cesspool over the last 10 years. Gangs, drugs, various violent crimes and corruption have escalated drastically. Because it's a beautiful place, people with money move here and drag all of the rotten things that them and their greed breeds. I used to be proud to live here, but now I hate to see what's happened to my beautiful home. Real estate speculation is a big problem not only here in Kelowna but elsewhere in the world. You can see the cost of living going up, especially the rent of an apartment or a house, and everything else when unbridled free market takes over an entire economy. Now the buzzword is "deregulation" but we witnessed what that means in the last 2 years;people losing their houses and everything they worked for so hard and taxpayers money being diverted to buyout those assholes that created the problem.

for those saying its over crowded you know nothing. most of kelowna is still orchards and farm lands. i would rather they build high rises then tear down the orchards and vineyards. and also kelowna has a larger area then Vancouver. not greater vancouver but the actually city. vancouver has 114.67 square km while kelown has 211.69 square km. and if you dont believe me look it up. i think this town is way to spread out. also we have 120 000 people now and we are growing faster then vancouver.

so Metro Vancouver actually has over 2 million people, and greater Kelowna has 200 000 tops.

ye i agree with you, your facts are definately real. but i was referring to just vancouver not all of the lower mainland. burnaby surry richmand etc. are different cities. with different mayers and city councellers. vancouver the city alone has about 550 000 people. while kelowna has about 120 000 people. kelowna has another 100km^2 so there is less of a need to build up. but i rather they do so they dont tear up the mountains and vineyards. keep the landscape buetiful.

A parking lot doesn't have a bigger carbon footprint than a golf course. Golf courses take a lot of fuel to maintain. A parking lot just sits there, getting re-paved every 12-25 years.

But regardless of that, more golf courses have popped up in Kelowna than have been taken down. We have way more golf courses than we need with Kelowna and Westbank combined.

I agree with him and have been living here for nearly 20 years. Kelowna does market for the rich, ask anyone at the City of Kelowna, they'll agree.  I also agree that unless you have 10 years of schooling, you can't really get many jobs for over 15 an hour. Kelowna is certainly a beautiful place but your right they certainly do need to get their act together, because all of that garbage is horrible, sooner or later there going to have a major disaster, and this will include the death of millions of innocent animals.
