@monorobot23 have you heard trout mask replica. It's my favorite album of all time, a piece of incredibly intricate, experimental playing. That is album that needs to be understood, an album where an ear for composition is required. If I'm able to see so much value in that, I'm certain an indie folk album (albeit a somewhat avant garde one) isn't to much of a challenging listen. The melodies here are sort of pretty, but her voice is awful. Why listen to this when I could just put on Starsailor

and by the way i would not identfy Joanna (especially ys) immediatly as "easy" (i really hate this term), the song are all really long and kind of articulate with very symbolyst lyrics, and it creates really a lot using only three "three" lines of sound (voice, harp and cello)

@Bkkhngr81 actually Newsom memorizes the lyrics and this comes from her background in theater schools where she had to memorize long poems of course she writes them down but she memorizes them nonetheless. I mean what musician would preform with a lyric sheet? And don't insult makes you look ignorant.
