The Choir of NATO's Enemy singing a NATO Country's anthem...
Yeah... Cold War is over - sorry Putin... The U.S., U.K., Canada, and West Germany out did you politically and economically - give it up brother NATO beat you... Go Western Europe and North America...
As a US citizen and a gentile Canadian neighbor, I am proud for Canada that the world-recognized Red Army Chorus have sung your wonderful and beautiful National Anthem. We Americans appreciated them singing ours, as well as yours - and they did a wonderful job of it! Our maple leaf branches touching yours, in long-time peace.
This is the best version of O Canada sung by a choir on Youtube. It's the ONLY one that gets anywhere near the musicality that this anthem deserves whilst still maintaining a balanced, blended, tuned, and resonant sound. Thank you so very much for posting this!
Any Axis Powers Hetalia fan will understand why this is rather glorious. Even aside from that, however, this is a beautiful rendition of our anthem, as is anything performed by the Russian Red Army Choir.
@TheLunarRevolution Yes! A fellow fan! And isn't the music just incredible? They can make me feel more patriotic than any school teacher or remembrance day assembly ever has. You should listen to the Red Army Choir singing "The Internationale"; it's sort of the socialist anthem of the world, and was originally written in French, but the Russian version is probably my favourite....:P
Incredible.. This is so marvellous and of course the chorus have magnificent deep rich voices.. Wow.. Thank you for sharing. Sure made my day a little better.
@RESTAURIERTdasDKR2 Of course i can tell by names, Bieber like i said is a germanic last name and another evidence i found was there is a sweizer deutsch hockey player

@103Uke me too, i hate people that think, we(The US, not you, but we as me talking about americans) save Canada from everything including satan. We dont, and dont have too. You guys can kick ass buy yourselves. much respect man
@DrinkingRazorBlades Much thanks, they forgot that we were one of the first countries to aid them after 9/11 with rescue workers. Heck, I went to school in the states and when ever they saw the map of North America, they had question marks on their face (I kid you not, I was in the same class as they were) cause they didn't know what country it was that was above the U.S when the teacher asked them and they even knew I'm Canadian.
@DrinkingRazorBlades I'll tell you this, if we were taking to some redneck Americans who claim to know about Canada more then Canadians with putting the word 'inferior' next to 'Canada', I'll motion you to them and say that he's one of you and he understands Cda more. But in reality, there is only a handfull of Americans and other ppl from certain parts of established countries that recognize Canada's accomplishments, but the rest don't when it comes to almost everything.
@103Uke Thats so true, mostly because we are not taught anything about Canada at all, being in the school system myself now, i can attest to that. Mexico too, all we are taught is how great America is, and how to obey the free market. That is basically it. America as a country is so xenophobic its saddening. A country that was the capital of immigration at one time becomes the harbor for nationalistic feelings. But when you look at what we're taught what else can the average american belive? :(
@103Uke if i had the money, and the ability to move to Canada or at least visit, i totally would. I have a few really good friends up there, Canadians are a really friendly people, at least alot more friendly than down here

In 1991 I shared my office space with 2 distinguished curators from the Soviet Academy of Sciences who were in Canada to prepare for the opening of Crossroads of Continents at the Canadian Museum of Civilizations.
After weeks of listening to one sing or hum the Beatles every day, I finally started whistling Kalinka.
"How do you know that song?"
“If you know the Beatles behind the Iron Curtain, we know the the Red Army Choir!”
This has got to be the best rendition of Oh Canada!
It brings to mind that jab about us being 'Soviet Canuckistan' xD
Also, hooray Russians singing in Canadian French. Eeeeet taaaa valeeeeuuuur.... Gorgeous. I'm going to see if they can play this at school some time, as a nice change from those damned pop-hiphop versions of the anthem they normally play.
These Soviet Communist singers make the anthem so irresistible, that, what the hell, I dream of my country really going Soviet; the Soviet Army landing in Alaska, moving into Yukon, and onward...The real Soviets back then were really set up to do this, but these days Putin just doesn't care...he wouldn't do this to you even if you paid him...
@fredericfranc actually they are not Soviets or Communists any more. This is a VERY recent recording of the Choir from when they were on tour in Canada.
@MarshalGeorgiZhukov ...please note that my comment does reflect my awareness that "there are not Soviets or Communists any more"...but I am trying to persuade my fellow Canadians that it would be nicer if we still had some around, enough of them to land in Alaska, and so on...
@IWantGoats Make that four assholes who dissliked this... Probably Americans scared shitless because of their endless paranoia about slowly losing power and supremacy (especially oil supremacy) to Russia and their great neighbor to the North. Typical.
Can anyone understand the second half of the anthem from 0:54 to 1:18.. is it in Russian? French? I know the anthem in other languages including english and would like to know what it is being sang in that time frame please....
@xAtheistAlexeix That's the point. It's bombastically charged with emotions. I prefer a comparatively humble approach of "well it is a nice country after all, innit? Yeah man, I like it".
