  • canadian people please don't sing our anthem...... PLEASE!!!

  • The first thing Russians and Canadians have in comon is that they both aren't afraid of cold weather.

  • I bet they made them sing this after the Canadians wrecked them in the Olympics two years ago.

  • i bet this was the hit single from the album. sweetly done.

  • The Choir of NATO's Enemy singing a NATO Country's anthem...

Yeah... Cold War is over - sorry Putin... The U.S., U.K., Canada, and West Germany out did you politically and economically - give it up brother NATO beat you... Go Western Europe and North America...

  • As a US citizen and a gentile Canadian neighbor, I am proud for Canada that the world-recognized Red Army Chorus have sung your wonderful and beautiful National Anthem. We Americans appreciated them singing ours, as well as yours - and they did a wonderful job of it! Our maple leaf branches touching yours, in long-time peace.

    ~Bob Shank

    Tucson, Arizona

  • @Zona57Bob Was down in Tuscon/Vale the past year, beautiful weather. Peace be with you brother.

  • o canada with a russian accent= pure win

  • Drat, now I have to learn the Russian national anthem... :-)

  • This is the best version of O Canada sung by a choir on Youtube. It's the ONLY one that gets anywhere near the musicality that this anthem deserves whilst still maintaining a balanced, blended, tuned, and resonant sound. Thank you so very much for posting this!

  • everything is better when it comes in russian,

  • Who dislikes this??!!! It's the national anthem people!!!!! Gosh!

  • We're not you're hat; you're our feet.

  • woah that was really epic!

  • Canada and Russia the north stars

  • Any Axis Powers Hetalia fan will understand why this is rather glorious. Even aside from that, however, this is a beautiful rendition of our anthem, as is anything performed by the Russian Red Army Choir.

  • @HTROXURSOX I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that (RusCan~)

I love this...It sounds so pretty, too :)

  • @TheLunarRevolution Yes! A fellow fan! And isn't the music just incredible? They can make me feel more patriotic than any school teacher or remembrance day assembly ever has. You should listen to the Red Army Choir singing "The Internationale"; it's sort of the socialist anthem of the world, and was originally written in French, but the Russian version is probably my favourite....:P

  • wow go Russia!

    =)

  • Incredible.. This is so marvellous and of course the chorus have magnificent deep rich voices.. Wow.. Thank you for sharing. Sure made my day a little better.

  • I'm Russian-Canadian if anyone cares, so I LOVE this :D

  • If there's anything the Russians can do, it's sing a national anthem.

    We love you Russia!

  • No Justin Biebier with Red army choir!! )))

  • @GravityPowerful course not cause hes not russian, but probably Germanic decent as his last name Bieber is a germanic last name.

  • @okpapereat he´s an german canadian...

    and i´m German...

o God please crush this Devil and let him never come back !

  • @RESTAURIERTdasDKR2 Of course i can tell by names, Bieber like i said is a germanic last name and another evidence i found was there is a sweizer deutsch hockey player

  • @okpapereat well his Grand, Grandparents came from Germany....

  • @RESTAURIERTdasDKR2 cool never knew that

  • Whoa. :|

  • I want my natl anthem sung by them! They make every song seems 10x better

  • So powerful.

  • I've just learned that the Russian Red Army chorus is performing here in Ottawa next month and I've just purchased my ticket!

  • Excellent rendition of Oh Canada sung by the Russian Red Army Chorus

  • Wow, this is a powerful rendition of our anthem. I'm impressed, Mother Russia.

  • Finally, a country out there doesn't think we are inferior.

    Thank God.

  • @103Uke I dont think Canada is inferior :)

  • @DrinkingRazorBlades Good, hope other ppl can figure that out for a change.

  • @103Uke me too, i hate people that think, we(The US, not you, but we as me talking about americans) save Canada from everything including satan. We dont, and dont have too. You guys can kick ass buy yourselves. much respect man

  • @DrinkingRazorBlades Much thanks, they forgot that we were one of the first countries to aid them after 9/11 with rescue workers. Heck, I went to school in the states and when ever they saw the map of North America, they had question marks on their face (I kid you not, I was in the same class as they were) cause they didn't know what country it was that was above the U.S when the teacher asked them and they even knew I'm Canadian.

  • @DrinkingRazorBlades I'll tell you this, if we were taking to some redneck Americans who claim to know about Canada more then Canadians with putting the word 'inferior' next to 'Canada', I'll motion you to them and say that he's one of you and he understands Cda more. But in reality, there is only a handfull of Americans and other ppl from certain parts of established countries that recognize Canada's accomplishments, but the rest don't when it comes to almost everything.

  • @103Uke Thats so true, mostly because we are not taught anything about Canada at all, being in the school system myself now, i can attest to that. Mexico too, all we are taught is how great America is, and how to obey the free market. That is basically it. America as a country is so xenophobic its saddening. A country that was the capital of immigration at one time becomes the harbor for nationalistic feelings. But when you look at what we're taught what else can the average american belive? :(

  • @DrinkingRazorBlades most of the world is far more xenophobic than america, its a human trait, not an american trait.

  • @103Uke if i had the money, and the ability to move to Canada or at least visit, i totally would. I have a few really good friends up there, Canadians are a really friendly people, at least alot more friendly than down here

  • @DrinkingRazorBlades You're more than welcome to come over.

  • @103Uke like i said, i so would but i dont have the money or the means

  • NDPers love this

  • @manhattan85

As an NDPer I take that as a compliment. NDPers do love a great rendition of our national anthem sung by one of the best choirs in the world.

  • @Andem1984

I am not insulted at all that our national anthem was performed beautifully. If you are insulted by this, you need to give your head a shake. It is patently false that the "NDP's constitution follows that of the Soviet Union". Why should Canadians even think what you say is important?!! Especially when you are stating falsehoods.

  • NPPers love this

  • When did they sing this :S ?

  • Russia + Canada = Epic win !

  • @VRPRockstar You obviously dont know about Russia taking our oil do you :) ?

  • I think you should repost this video... WITHOUT the hockey goal photo. That was a bit... disrespectful.

  • Russian chorus singing O Canada in English and French. Epic. :D

  • this version is so epic it should be the standard version of o canada

  • In 1991 I shared my office space with 2 distinguished curators from the Soviet Academy of Sciences who were in Canada to prepare for the opening of Crossroads of Continents at the Canadian Museum of Civilizations.

After weeks of listening to one sing or hum the Beatles every day, I finally started whistling Kalinka.

"How do you know that song?"

“If you know the Beatles behind the Iron Curtain, we know the the Red Army Choir!”

This has got to be the best rendition of Oh Canada!

  • It brings to mind that jab about us being 'Soviet Canuckistan' xD

Also, hooray Russians singing in Canadian French. Eeeeet taaaa valeeeeuuuur.... Gorgeous. I'm going to see if they can play this at school some time, as a nice change from those damned pop-hiphop versions of the anthem they normally play.

  • These Soviet Communist singers make the anthem so irresistible, that, what the hell, I dream of my country really going Soviet; the Soviet Army landing in Alaska, moving into Yukon, and onward...The real Soviets back then were really set up to do this, but these days Putin just doesn't care...he wouldn't do this to you even if you paid him...

  • @fredericfranc actually they are not Soviets or Communists any more. This is a VERY recent recording of the Choir from when they were on tour in Canada.

  • @MarshalGeorgiZhukov ...please note that my comment does reflect my awareness that "there are not Soviets or Communists any more"...but I am trying to persuade my fellow Canadians that it would be nicer if we still had some around, enough of them to land in Alaska, and so on...

  • @MarshalGeorgiZhukov And they are making a few stops in Canada this summer again!!

  • @Quisyfrottesypique Damn, now I wish I had made plans to visit Canada this year.

  • Who the FUCK are the two people who dissliked this?!

  • @IWantGoats Make that four assholes who dissliked this... Probably Americans scared shitless because of their endless paranoia about slowly losing power and supremacy (especially oil supremacy) to Russia and their great neighbor to the North. Typical.

  • @prunariu LMAO! Dreamer!

  • @IWantGoats Four now. But the four are two jelious americans and two quebec sepertists.

  • now this is the o canada i like need to use this version instead of the normal one

  • Can anyone understand the second half of the anthem from 0:54 to 1:18.. is it in Russian? French? I know the anthem in other languages including english and would like to know what it is being sang in that time frame please....

  • @lolynn726 They are singing the french lyrics in this portion = Et ta valeur, de foi trempée,

Protégera nos foyers et nos droits.Protégera (here they switch back halfway throught last french line and sing the rest of the last line in english)

Translation: Thy valour steeped in faith

Will protect our homes and our rights

Will protect (English again: we stand on guard for thee)

  • с 0 54 до 1 18

они поют приезжайте в Сочи чтобы проиграть в финале ...

  • @777Yaric Good luck to you

  • They have really big hats

  • Canada, Russia, North of USA and North of China are long living the cold!

  • Canada and Russia are brother countries. Both large. Both cold (love cold). Both well just, awesome countries.Long live Russia and Canada.

  • This is how O Canada should be performed. I wish we would do something like this during Canada Day or Rememberance Day.

  • dig this!>>>>"Russian Red Army Choir - Song Of The Volga River Boatmen (1965)"

  • beautiful!!! Hope they get to sing it when Canada wins hockey gold AGAIN in 2014 in Sochi

  • The tune is Russian anyhow.

  • Nicely performed bilingual version

  • This is why we don't loose faith in one another.

  • I'm amazed! Sounds so powerful. Perhaps showing a picture of us (Canada) beating them in hockey was a little inappropriate lol.

  • @robbpeppertree yea probably.

  • @robbpeppertree

Now THAT'S how you sing an anthem.

  • @robbpeppertree Nah not at all. : D

  • Happy canada day from Russia!

Joyeuse fête du Canada de la part de la Russie!

    Счастливый день Канаде! Бесплатный Квебек!

  • Awesome, USSR!!!

  • Russians can make any song powerful, respect to russia from Canada

  • now you sing that in russian please it be interesting

  • HAHA this is awesome.

  • I like it. I don't know why but I like it.

  • Man, the Russians can make even mediocre stuff sound amazing (I'm from Canada and its anthem sucks, no offense).

  • @modlany Better that the British

"God Save the Queen" Anthem xD

  • @CrownRadio thats actually Canada's first National Anthem, and also still the royal anthem of our country. Dumbass. Have some respect.

  • Consider yourself lucky, a lot of anthems suck. At least ours is singable.

  • I have been looking for this for so long and FINALLY got it. Thanks for posting.

  • WOW!!

  • Terrific version. Russian adaptions are always the best :)

  • @xAtheistAlexeix why cant us do a version like this :(?

  • @xAtheistAlexeix can they please do this but with american anthem :(?

  • @xAtheistAlexeix I personally disagree, the adaptions of songs by huge empires' military is often far too pathetic.

  • @Gonnakillyou Well, I don't really see how it's pathetic. This is majestic, if anything.

  • @xAtheistAlexeix That's the point. It's bombastically charged with emotions. I prefer a comparatively humble approach of "well it is a nice country after all, innit? Yeah man, I like it".

A good example would be this instrumental version of Hesse's de facto national hymn: /watch?v=caF0MZZ8log

  • @Gonnakillyou Meh. I prefer the proud, loud majestic version... makes you feel proud about your homeland

  • @xAtheistAlexeix That's the very problem. Gladness, sure, but pride... I'm a bit critical about that, identifying as cosmopolitan and all.

  • @Gonnakillyou Humble music? The issue here is that you're a fucking pussy. End of story.

  • @Dominick629 I think you're being an insufferable hick instead. To even care enough to insult me.

  • Pretty cool version. Love the Red Army chorus.

  • Ya back when I was in school it was always english french english french. don't know when they stopped. Or why for that matter.

  • They are VERY good!!!!

  • beautifull...are there other recordings of this ensemble with other anthems?

  • This makes me think of an alternate timeline scenario, in which the Soviets invaded Canada (with relative ease)and established the USSC. LOL

  • "with relative ease" is what the germans first said...

  • @eksadiss A mere matter of marching is also what the Americans said

  • @IamSnickers MAddison said that in 1812, how did that go?

  • @eksadiss I think the United States is the only country that could "easily" invade Canada; we just gotta step over a line and we've invaded. Now, taking it over would be a different story.

  • @eksadiss canada has lots of mountains and forest, wouldn't be that easy to invade x)

  • @eksadiss The Germans tried to invade Canada?

  • If your referring to Kitchener-Waterloo...that's how we unfiltered their general staff off of the radar.

  • @Ypipable It was a question.

  • @MaoiMeowi2 no, but Canadian troops did help with the invasion of Europe.

  • @MarshalGeorgiZhukov Of course they did. The guy I responded to implied that Germans said Canada would be easy to conquer.

  • @MaoiMeowi2 Canada would be just has hard to conquer as Russia would.

  • @MarshalGeorgiZhukov ...neither Russia nor the Soviet Union have anything to do with anyone invading Canada.

  • @MaoiMeowi2 Canada, like Russia and the Soviet Union have a lot of territory.

  • @MarshalGeorgiZhukov Yes, that's correct. That doesn't have anything to do with an invasion of Canada, though.

  • @MaoiMeowi2 it would have met with similar results, the Germans would have failed. The Canadian Army at that time was, and still is, very formidable. And they would have been bolstered by the Americans.

  • @MarshalGeorgiZhukov I said *an* invasion of Canada, not specific to a German invasion.

  • @MaoiMeowi2 regardless. An invasion of Canada would be as successful as an invasion of Russia, it would fail miserably. No nation can have enough forces to hold the vast amount of territory AND fight against the Canadian Armed Forces and Partisans. Not even China can do that.

  • @MarshalGeorgiZhukov Yeah, but that doesn't have anything to do with my original comment.

  • @MaoiMeowi2 it does. If the Germans had tried the invade Canada, it would have met with total failure, just as their invasion here failed.

  • So much as they kept the donoughts flowing.

Imagine the Rebranded Arrow taking down Phantoms lmao

I'm looking for an ochestral patriotic hymn epic version of Oh Canada with less brass but I think if this is the best I could ask for.

  • @abola2121 If only.

  • Youtube search their name. They at least do Volga.

  • I believe, who firstly thinks of politis is far from serious culture

  • Ever studied Aristotle?

  • I knew it, when there's russian, there is always about politics and army

    whatever, awesome perf

  • God, I LOVE the RRAC's rendition of our anthem! It should always be sung English / French / English - it makes it sound so much cooler.

  • Communists singing for the socialists. Well done comrades. Awesome rendition.

  • You've got quite a sense of humour :). So I take it you're American eh?

  • I'm Canadian and a supporter of moderate socialism. That last comment wasn't meant to sound sarcastic.
