There was a movie that took place around the time they first meet each other.

"Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva" I think it was called. It has not yet to been translated into english.

In that game they met the first time.

In Japan the release date is the 26.11.2009. And I think Luke plays a main part in the story, becaue he knows everything about the monster. 8D

Wait... I just found out Luke's father, Clark, was a really close college friend of Professor Layton's, and Clark is a mayor of a village. Perhaps something terrible happened to him, and Layton took Luke in?

@KiosoTheGreat I know, really. Like, when I was playing the Phoenix Wright series on emulator, I actually wanted to be the one playing it because it requires your own knowledge and you have a lot of freedom. But in the Layton series, all you do is solve puzzles, which I don't really like doing anyway. I played Curious Village on emulator after I finished the Phoenix Wright series, and I just figured, "Screw it, I'll just watch a playthrough for the rest."
