I really want to join CAP, but I'm nervous. Do I just show up to a meeting, or do I have to contact someone. Also, do I wear anything fancy?

Im a C/2ndLt. and cadet commander with 5 years under my belt. I must say CAP is a life changer, I joined in middle school and now graduating high school, I've soloed in a Cessna 172 and am on my way to AFROTC in college. CAP Rocks!

CliffTheMajor - C/LtCol takes a really long time to get, many people can't get to Major, or even 2Lt, and it's usually based on time. For example; going to college, joining the military, etc. Even turning 21.

I Earned my Mitchell Award as a Cadet and my Chuck Yeager as a SR MBR. I have been in CAP now for 10 years .plus 5 years as a cadet. Yep CAP is in my blood.

No longer USCAP. NHQ Decided that it is just CAP again... this decision was made a couple months ago.

Yeah, I just saw that. I'll leave it as is for now though, as it's not mandatory until 2010. It's alot of things to change.

I was literally 2 months from changing my CAP tapes on the uniform, when I found out... (seeing as i found out 2 months before it was going to be mandatory to have USCAP)

My whole squadron changed the month it was announced. None of us are to happy with it...

if NHQ makes some change to the uniform, thats not easy to change, we wait until its mandatory, then make a huge order of whatever it is that needs to be changed

Don't be scared! CAP is the best you can do, no matter your age. If you ever have questions, don't be afraid to ask any NCO's or officers, or even drop me a line! I'm always here to help.
