  • Dammit Australia. You guys really do live the mantra, "go big or go home."

Stay crazy-as-hell my friends. Love from America.

  • WHAT KIND OF 1/4 MILE TIME ARE WE TALKING HERE????

  • @egpg2000 Most of the Bandag Bullet is 20 years old, it wasn't built to be the ultimate in performance, it was primarily built to be reliable.

  • what even happened to the Bandag Bullet?

  • This guys son has a truck as well. It is the bandag Mack if i remember does anyone have any videos of it as well?

  • sem duvida uma maquina que transmite muita adrenalina.

  • 2 Superchargers & 4 turbos Nice!

  • Us Aussies are the Ultimate petrol heads!

  • the queen mary is a bloody big ship, use wikipedia to find out more.

  • a fucking ship

  • sheesh i didnt know

  • its a cruise ship

  • that was also a different truck

  • Delicious sounding engine!

  • i wana supercharge and turbo a ae86

  • Holy shit thats awesome! Why does it have superchargers and turbos? dont diesel have superchagers for air intake or something?

  • Why Superchargers & Turbos? Because it is a two stroke. The Detroit Diesel two stroke dates back to 1938, the supercharger clears out the exhaust & fills the cylinder with fresh air every time the piston reaches the bottom of the stroke. In the 1970's, the turbocharger was added to increase torque & fuel economy, but the supercharger is needed to keep it going when the engine is at low speed & low power outputs.

  • These engines have a big brother too. Found in roughly half the locomotives you will find the EMD two stroke. The early versions having a Supercharger (Roots Blower) & later getting turbocharged.

Originally, Detroit Diesel & EMD were both subsidiaries of General Motors. You can also find both motors in boats, ships and used as power generators.

  • Hey thanks for the info! I appreciate it.

  • @Xx69roadrunnerxX Simple principle; the more air you can pump into an engine, the more power you get. Therefore, two superchargers and four turbos is still a lot more air than just two superchargers

  • All this on Bandag cold process retreads!

  • Retreads that hold together at 300+ km/h are extremely impressive!

  • stock 11r22.5 cold caps yes

  • Onya Frank and the Bandag Bullet! BTW, it isn't a 16V92 but a pair of 8V92TTA engines joined together!

  • It's actually the same thing. 16V-92's are created by bolting 2 8V-92's together.

  • Yep I'll back this up. Similarly the 12V92 is 2 6V92's bolted together. The 71 series however the 12V71 was actually a single block with the 16V71 was 2 8V71's bolted together. No joining in the 53 series tho.... Guess they thought just buy a 92.

  • Unbelievable!

  • This truck is awesome! I have to go for a drive wth Frank if I get the chance!!! I'd be lucky if I did - the truck is one awesome vehicle!!!

  • @huppypuppy being in the truck is awesome!!! I was in there once with frank and he fired up the engine and reved the bullet up, it was so loud. then he mde fire spurt out the back!! i could feel it in the passengers seat!! it was soo awesome.. (btw frank is my uncle, thats why i got to go in, nd my dad also built the truck!!)

  • @livirose13 My brother did his apprenticeship with them, he paid LOTS of attention to Charlie.
