Also, the Shelton case in no way applies to your situation. Shelton was on a job for a news agency (sort of) and acted like a child. @RP4409 whoa whoa wait.... Ok so these two police officers are showing up to a call, but they're not reactive? i think they are reacting to a 911 call... I may be wrong, but that seems like the most like scenario. Also, police are both proactive, and reactive. Not just one or the other. Don't look suspicious and the police won't harass you. Or just don't do anything illegal and they won't. Simple fix

As for getting "beaten up"- let us say I am incapable of defending myself, and am really getting my ass handed to me. They knew their actions were questionable, thats why the officer got out of his cruiser and talked to the other officer. They didn't want their quick discussion on the radio because they know it would be recorded. As for the grass, they should be forced to drive on only paved areas like wide sidewalks if they are cruising a park. My tax money shouldn't be going to repairing damage to the lawn and sprinklers done by a cruiser while its making its rounds through a park.

You are clearly not properly interpreting Accost, because the officers were polite and simply asked direct questions. Your behavior is more in line with the definition. Also, the Shelton case in no way applies to your situation. Shelton was on a job for a news agency (sort of) and acted like a child. The fact that he was improperly detained and the charges were dropped is not justification for deliberately provoking conflict as he did, and as you do.

It reads video/audio taping (ie filming) is not against the law in a public place/area where privacy cannot be expected. Law enforcement is NOT different from citizens. What does a cop say to you? @Jakeybabe100 Actually, you can sit on private property and film anyone you want. Stalking is when you follow someone. You can stand in one spot and stare at or videograph anyone you want. And police are public officials, so you can take as much video as you want. Stalking is different.
