  • I saw this video before and it is a nice one. BUT,what I do not find is a way to put several collapsible panels with different widt and height on difeerent pages in one webside.Venelinkristev told me to change the name but this is IMPOSSIBLE. Is there sombody who gives me the solution:HELP!!!!

  • To venelinkristev Yes , the second file overwrites the first; I suppose you can not give any name to that file. Is this a special name you have to give it? I will try once and will tell you. Thank you.

  • Great tutorial, thanks! I need to watch more of these to learn, I got Dreamweaver CS4 but had no idea of how many new things it added in a couple years... thanks.

  • I am trying to setup multiple collapsible panels and it doen't work. The first one is no problem but when i make another one on another page with another width and hight the first one I made takes this new width and Height. How is it possible to make one every page of my website a collapsible panel with each another width and height. Thank you!!

  • @AYMERICK55

Try to change the name of .css file, I think that 2nd spry overewrite the old .css spry file.

  • see you tube happy all time

  • I am trying to setup multiple collapsible panels. I have managed to do this with multiple css files. I duplicated the first, renamed it and renamed the references, etc. The problem I see so far is the rollover images all still refer to the first date/image. I've been fighting with this for a couple days and would appreciate any help.

I'm hoping I use this file when finished as a php include for my sidebar.

    Thank you in advance.

I know its to do with option "contentisOpen" and set it to false but I dont know how to do this any ideas ????? dreamweaver CS4

  • @neilss1...On Dreamweaver, make sure you select the panel, click on the little spry widget blue rectangle where it says "Spry Collapsible: Collapsible. On the properties box, choose "Closed" on the Default State but make sure you have Display "Open". It works! I hope you could understand the stuff that I just explained to you.

  • @ksudude25 I does work when I preview it but once uploaded in my FTP and it goes live, the spry does not work anymore. Whatever the browser! Any idea? Thanks in advance.

  • @holosjourney ...Make sure that you upload everything, including the folder containing the scripts that Dreamweaver generated for you. Sorry for the late response, I've been swamped!

  • sorry man good vid but for some1 so skilled at photoshop.. and then have a logo like yu do at the start of your vid seems completely crazy?

i feel the same way about your logo as i do about 'comic sans'

  • can sum1 give me some disadvantages of dreamweaver

  • @ZhanTaoF ummmm its expensive?????obviously not a ripoff but expensive i guess?

  • @ZhanTaoF - I have talked to many webpage designers that hate dreamweaver - but they know how to code very well. The feel like dreamweaver holds them back and they do not want some program controlling what they want to do - those are the only disadvantages I have heard.

  • spry

  • you voice sounds like u are holding your nose

  • @dxpsicosmic yeah .. lol

  • @jakeeBheybe haha yea he's trying to hard to speak well too

  • @dxpsicosmic and Im sure you sound angelic

  • tutvid ah need help please: I WANT TO CREATE A MATRIX EFFECTS IN DREAMWEAVER OR ONE OF THEM HELP ME.

  • Bless you for these videos. Awesome tutorials!!

  • I NEED YOUR HELP!

The panel is open when I go to my site - how do I change that?!

    Please answer, Shanna

  • @Shanication

    hi man!

down in propertise when you click on eye(on tab panel) you have:

    Display:closed

Display state:open ---->here you need CLOSED!!!!

    and that is all ;)

  • Just what I was looking for. I have two questions however:

    1. My panel is opened by default. How do I change that?

    2. I have many rows of text and created a collapsible panel to one of those rows. Now the text before and after the collapsible panel row has a space in between them and the row with the collapsible panel. How to fix this?

    Thanks!

  • Nice one. I think I'm going to have to use Dreamweaver again, really handy for some templates for web content...

I've been developing purely in a text editor and manual css, but even using that feature to generate the basic css and js files would be excellent, then allow me to modify it manually!

    Great stuff.

  • Thanks, I love your videos. what does the "clear me"thing do anyway?

  • @Dragonss102

Great Video, Appreciate the effort to explain in clean english and good pronunciation.

Me too confused with the clearMe thing. Why exactly it was used?

  • 1st comment did not show =/ , love your movies, learned lots of stuff, but in this clip div class='clearme' inside 'p' would validate 1error, span class='clearme' would do it valid way cause its inline element.I`am sure you know and its not a big mistake just to let rest of people get it right =) take care and keep up great work!

  • Where did you learn to do all this? I found your videos yesterday and I really enjoy watching them. I'm currently learning Photoshop CS3 Extended and Dreamweweaver CS3. I would love to barter with you. Remote Support for Photoshop/Dreamweaver CS3 training. If your interested, send me a message. - Jackie

  • Thx! This is exactly what I've been looking for

  • i am going to name my kid after you. thanks!

  • Name it after optimums prime!

  • @giantrvchris rolf

  • thanks Nathaniel.

  • nvm.

that question that i just asked.

    i made it happend.

    i am so excited.

  • i have a question for you;

    more like a convo-

you see how the spry col. adjust everything thats at the bottom of that. (anycontent thats below the stuff it brings it down. i know you dont like apdiv

now when everything is in dreamweaver it messes up my whole page

A REGULAR DIV DOSNT FIX THAT.

would you say a ap would fix that.

and if you think it is. how do you get it to sit within that same cell that you want to apply the colap to so that it goes on top of everything (it have a higher index)

  • thanks

  • this works for myspace layouts aswell?

  • Should, just HTML and CSS

  • When i click on my panel tab I get a organe border armond it and it wont go away :s Please help me with this!!

Btw I love all of your tutorial

  • Good job. Would like to see Spry panel inserted into a page to see how they interact.

  • how did you get this video to be almost 20 min

  • @jsweetbo5 he is sponsored on youtube see the banner above the subscribe button

  • @jsweetbo5 LOL, he's not sponsored, he's a Youtube Partner which unlocks some great features on the site and makes it possible to earn money from ads.

  • From your voice, I'm going to guess you work in sales, customer service or collections ;-)

I think this collapse bar can be done with less effort with JQuery and other toollkits, possibly?

  • Can i also put some dynamic PHP text in here? So it might be 2 lines of text, but also 200.. WIll it automaticly change the size of the box when it loads the text?

    Thanks in advance,

    Lucas

  • Yup :)

  • jQuery is the way to go...

  • yea - but I suppose it is easier to just point and click in DW, but jQuery is awesome ;D

  • So, just a matter of knowing what you want and how to get there really as silly as that sounds.

  • it's second and third...

  • great and very clear tut. Have you another tut where you show this wit a dynamic content like ASP? *s*

  • Its easier to write by hand )

  • You're amazing! But I was wondering how you make your tuts? With the screen capturing and your naration... and also, a while ago you did an iPod picture-ish thing and I was wondering how you got your model sort of cut around just her figure... that seems like a good thing to know! xD

  • I believe nate uses Camstasia to record his vids - correct me if im wrong.

  • you are very clever in guessing... :)

  • I forgot about that but he mentions it on the FAQ on the site, and no, it's not Camtasia, it's something called 'deskshare' actually, that's the site and a separate mic. It's under resources tab

  • u are the best

  • What the best FREE place to host a dreamweaver site?

  • You can host your site through your own Computer, which is the best free way :P.

    Just google, "Hosting Home Site"

  • joomla beat

  • Your tutorials are just THE BEST! I make photoshop tutorials but damn they come nowhere close to yours! Great job mate. I'm gonna try to learn CSS through your tutorials, that's something I'd really like to be able to do.

I only have one proposal to you: I suggest that you try to make the tutorials a tad shorter. I think that could be done without sacrificing the quality of the learning experience :)
