  • The "Chutes" did get stuck every so often but I never heard of any major problems with the Jump. I personally know Marty Markowitz (Brooklyn Borough President) and I believe he knows the history of the Jump too. I think he told me there was never any serious problems when it was in operation.

  • This was designated a Landmark in I believe in 1972. It was dismantled repaired, repainted and re-assembled in 2005 for 5 million dollars. It would be too costly to restore it as a working ride again. It was closed down originally because not enough people were using it and Coney Island did not get as many people visiting as it had in the past.

  • @grillage2 It was a landmark 1977 and you might be right, but I thought people were trapped on the top and it went on fire in 1964.

  • What's the name of the title song pls.

  • @castrormartin I believe its New Stories

  • Why did they get rid of this?

  • They didnt get rid of this.

  • I meant as a ride. Was it just because of money and disrepair issues?

  • Oh because in 1964 there was a fire up there or something. All I know is that a fire was up there and there were people up there too and they got stuck there so they closed the ride.

  • Wow that would be pretty scary

  • Yeah lol

  • Love your tribute to the parachute jump. Nice job for your first video.
