The fact their are retarded debates about this kind of innovation is stupid. What's the point of being the most technologically advanced motor sport but have so many restrictions on what teams can't do. If it isn't a safety issue, who the fuck cares? If a team comes out with a new wing design, everyone will know about it after the first race and with HD camera's these days they can see it's exact shape from miles away...let the teams progress aero design ffs.
The reason it's illegal is that the smaller teams simply don't have the budget to keep up with these improvements and thefore would create a bigger difference between the teams than there already is. My personal view on this is that the difference between the teams is too is too big, just look at the dominance from Redbull Renault this year... I'd like a more competitive race and banning stuff like the blown rear diffusor is a small step to that.
Fair enough that its legal. But the FIA told Renault last yr that it was illegal, so they changed the design. Either way RBR will will the championship for '09
Yes, but don't forget that one of the petitions against the new diffusers was launched by Ferrari. Now think back a couple of years to who had an innovative new diffuser that the FIA ruled was legal. I think you'll find that it was Ferrari.
F1 is all about bending the rules, but only as long as you're the only one benefiting from it. The bottom line is, three of the teams had the same great idea. The rest didn't. They're just upset they have to pay out the arse to catch up, now.
lol vettle llacks the skill lol he makes so many errors will never be a champion alonso and kimi r the best of their era they started with shit and proved they were quick same with massa thats y i hate all those hamilton fans he got the best car to start out with
Stop crying hahahaha its always been a point in F1 to interpret the rules in way that justifies making a car with an "unfair advantage" its been going since the fifties and I hope it never stops. When the other teams catch up the playing will be level again then someone else will put something on they're car that will either work and send them to the front or not and they will have wasted they're time
Ground effect is allowed, but only behind the rear axis, the ground effect used before was under the sidepods in the form of an inverted wing, the so called "wing-cars", but they were banned for the 1983 season. Ground effects provides aerodynamic grip with almost no drag.

it creates ground effect and that's prohibited for more than 25 years
Revan085 2 years ago
No! Every other dissufsor also creates the ground effect. The function of a diffusor is based on the ground effect!
