Why not playing them one at the time so we can hear the diff between them?
this was pretty useless info for us....look like you got a lot of great gear...spend more time learning how to use it instead of posting usless vids on YT...
How did you run both at once? is there a way to swtich from one to the other? I am considering buying a Fender DeVille for clean tones, i like the clean tones better from the fender than my spider valve, is there a way to switch from one to the other?
Yeah, buy a AB switch if you want to switch between 2 amps. Or a ABY switch if you want to use both at the same time as well as switch between the two.
They are very different amps.. The Mesa was a beastly amp but very loose in comparison to my Engl. If I played more rock-Hard rock I'd stick with the Mesa, but since I'm more in a metal phase now, the Engl wins there hands down for me!
Totally agree its like mixing oil and water.. THe line 6 amp is fukin spider with power tubes.. All bogner did was put their tube structure to hold them but, didnt contribute squat to the engineering and why should they, BOgner blows line 6 shitty modeling away on its own
the tubes are the same 6L6s and 12AX7s that go into anything else, how did they design the tubes?? stupid fuck, that amp kicks ass, for the time and money that you need to put into a mesa to get a good sound doesn't equal the simplicity and sound of the Line6/Bogner
Whatever you're taking, you need to reduce the dosage. And as for tubes, you can use different metals and whatnot. And that amp is all computer simulated tone - the bit that makes the sound (preamp) is solid state but the power comes from the tubes. Therefore it is not a real tube amp at all, still just a line 6.
Although it may be a "computer simulated tone" it is still a good sounding amp. It is MUCH more diverse than any Bogner or Mesa Rectifier. I know b/c I HAVE HAD THEM...
Ill agree with that for sure. Right now i need the jack of all trades amp, not the master which is why I got rid of teh recto. Im in college and not playing nearly as much so I figured i would simplify and get something more diverse that would inspire new ideas etc... The Mesa was a great amp for gigs tho. It really has a great presence and sounds amazing in a live setting. One of the best live amps made imo.
I plugged the guitar signal into my Boss NS-2 and it splits the signal into two. This isn't the best way to run 2 amps in stereo as it sacrifices the signal integrity a tad.. but I work with what I got =). Best way would to get a high quality A/B/Y box.
hell this is better than nothing...ive got a budget all tubed amp (crate blue voodoo) and what i do to get a modeled mesa sound is run my Original Roland cube30 on rectifier setting, through the blue voodoo to give it that sharper tonal range that a normal solid state cannot. thats how i play shows now =) Basically my cube is used as a distortion pedal. anyone interested in a demo?
I actually sold my SV, it's a bit honky and thin compared to the Recto.. but the recto is also a insanely THICK tube amp compared to any other tube amp.
loud as hell but i set teh knobs like a normal amp, which if u wanna acheve good tone with a rec, u cant really do, i red the manual yesterday and now understand the head alot more
when i got my spider valve i went strait fore playing damage control!!!!!!!
its funny seeing some one else do the same now

yah,, These amps ruined bogner's good name! It is just the tubes that are designed by bogner to go in the amp.

I will vouch for the shear amount of good tones you can get from the Line 6 SV... but it's without a doubt, a jack of all trades, master of none.

Your saying the Pre-amp is solid-state computer but if i change the digital pre-amp tubes for normal 12AX7 will it sound full tube?
slimyesli 2 years ago
The preamp is both solid state and tube.

i also have the sv, can you tell me your settings? and how does its rectifier model compare to the real mesa?

everyone says that but i cant seem to get good sounds out of my friends :(

The recto needs to be cranked at least band volume to start kicking ass... were you playing at that volume?
