The film was well made...BUT...if you are going to set up a mystery with no solution then go all the way and DON'T show the 'ghost/monster. You had the big scare with the bloke being dragged from the bed, the editing and sound effect here was excellent, brilliantly timed and I don't mind admitting I jumped a mile and shouted out (like a big girl with no knickers)lol. An alternative ending, after the girl dies, go next door, a couple are in bed....and the clicking noise starts......... lol
I really enjoyed this! I think I agree with jcamjcam a little, though. The monster was a little... well, Hollywood, when the rest of the film was deliciously not. Good direction and the man getting dragged out of the bed made me jump.
ALSO, I kept getting distracted by how pretty that lady is!
this is a very very good film, the ending indeed was a let down, you should have kept some mistery to what was making that noise i think. once the audience sees the ghost (or monster or whatever) it ceases being as scary.
thanks for your comment, I agree with you on some level, nothing can be scarier than something, but I've seen way to many short horrors that don't reveal anything and after a while it gets tiresome. I thought the audience may be predicting a subtle mystery ending so I went the other way. Just wanted to make people jump.
Kept my attention but the end was a letdown. We still don't know what the noise was! If it was some huge bug or someting it might have made more sense. Nice suspense tho
sorry budget didn't stretch to a huge bug, I found that as soon as the male character is snatched out of bed it's in consequential what the sound is, it's obviously coming from that thing at the top of the stairs. I didn't want a cheesy end shot of it cracking it's knuckles or something at the end, it's told from the girl's POV and she dies before she could posibbly find out the details of the sound.

I still appreciate your criticism.

Actually, this ending scared me witless. The fact that it remains a mystery was a pretty awesome effect, if you ask me.
