  • That looks very clever, and reasonable speed too considering it is a rather ineffiecient and heavy old boat. On a long slender canoe or outrigger that would really fly! Do you have to guide the kite in figure eights or can you just set it and forget it?

  • @Proadude Kite set at the edge of wind window will result in the boat being on a close hauled course, by sinussing or figure eighting kite and boat will fall of the wind, so steering can be done entirely by kite, no need of rudder. The next prototypes were much lighter and faster, see my other videos, next one will be a stabilized monohull(like a small power trimaran, e.g. your eagle4.6) and hopefully really fast.

  • The theory at work! nice! you must have seen"l'aile d'eau from dr Goulu.

  • Very interesting!

Where you can see it in action?

  • @paolo1360

    Hi paolo,

I'am working now on a much lighter and thus probably faster version based on a small sailing dinghy. I will be trying it out during the German Sailing Event "Kieler Woche" from 18th to 26th of June. Will try to shoot another video and post it here as well. All the best. Ingo
