please understand: ron paul is not saying marijuana should be legal. he does not say that! he says he wants no federal law prohibiting it, which will "let the regulation go back to the states." got it? he simply wants to the states to be able to regulate marijuana however they want. that might mean legalizing, but it also might mean imprisoning someone for life for carrying a joint.

I smoke, and i drink occasionaly and when i was much younger and more stupid i had driven drunk. Driving drunk is much more dangerous then driving high. i agree with everything he is saying, besides when he says that people dont often get arrested for driving high.. It happens often, instead of getting arrested for driving under the influence, they will search the car for weed and charge you for that. its more efficient for them then trying to prove they are high. also i have been impaired driving high. ive ran three stop signs accidently while high, never once sober, and if you know from experience like me, you have to admit there is an effect.

A large percentage of people in jail, are there because of petty, marijuana growing, selling, or possession. In some cases you get more time for having weed, than you do for killing someone.
