how the heck can you sell a laptop with only a couple gigabytes of RAM and like 64GB and a core 2 processor for $1000? You can get a PC with an intel i7 and like 500GB HD + 4GB RAM for $700.

The person going for this would most likely be someone using it for 'Work' and not gaming, Might have a iphone/ipod to store media and might be a person not bothered abt the CPU/HDD he has rather what he/she does with it. Now ... I do agree with you about the price saying that u can get a $700 pc ( I assume a laptop u mean, as a desktop might work out cheaper. @dreamsfulfilled2day I don't see what difference work or gaming or other devices you have make. It's still extremely expenive for a tiny amount of space, very few features and a very old type of processor. Like someone else said, it's basically a $1000 netbook.

@zombiecarrot Yeah true. Acer aspire netbook 11.5" screen has multi touch and the screen swivels 180* so that you can lay it flat to become a touch tablet - this is over 2 years old now. :) Sheeple, wake up and research! There are better devices out there that are not crApple. :)

Macs are for rich girls that use Facebook and Farmville and are twittering about what color shoes they are wearing.

Besides web browsing, Macs are not that powerfull. For $4000 I can get an Alienware M17x with DUAL GTX 280m video cards, 1TB HDD, Blue Ray drive, plus the nice customizable backlit keyboard. It's like a Ferrarri vs Mercedes when you compare the M17x vs the Macbook.

Thats why everyone else wants to make Android tablets and HP wants to make a web OS tablet instead of a Windows 7 tablet. Desktop OSes are for keyboard and mouse not fingers. I don't have to sit at a desk and type with it. I can lie down and mess around with it. I think its a more intimate device than my MacBook. App Store isn't so bad. Everything I would want to put on the iPad is there. I'm not going to be running ProTools on iPad.

@iSquishy89 Spreaking of ProTools, this is one reason why I am against a touchscreen only Mac. I can't imagine running something like that on a Mac Tablet. It would be a nightmare. This is what I mean when I say Desktop OS is not good for touch. The apps for it are designed for keyboard and mouse not touch screen.
