I'm curious to hear your view of the older LXX translation of the Hebrew (concerning Jer 23:5-6). It reads very different than the later masoretic text and doesn't call the Mashiyach "YVHV" as it appears to do in the Mas. text.
1:25"Jesus" is the Greek word Iesous- a meaningless transliteration of a meaningful phrase "Yeshua" In English His name is Joshua ("J" being originally pronounced as a "Y"). What boggles my mind is that people insist on using this greek name despite the fact that it holds no meaning & it wasn't the name given to Him. We say "satan, Shekinah, ba'al & halleluyah" which are all Hebrew yet we refuse to say our Mashiyach's given name, "Yehoshua/Yeshua"? That's like replacing YHVH w/LORD.
Jesus "The Christ" IS "The Anointed One"... "Anointed" to meet you at YOUR point of need and sent to remove your burden and to destroy the yoke that satan has place on all mankind as a result of the fall of Adam... THAT"S WHO JESUS "THE CHRIST" IS!
It is time for a new law and master. Your prayers are once again unanswered. Renounce the heavy chains of god. Do you think you're truly free bound on your knees? You are part of the problem. You are accepting of their lies. Sheltered ignorance poisons your mind. Rotting beside your hopeless guilt. With Lucifer you can ride, vulgar and blasphemous. Your faith will be forgotten, beaten once again. If I kneel, I shall summon my own power. Satan is our God and a savior of humanity.
1 Who would believe what we have heard? To whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?
2 He grew up like a sapling before him, like a shoot from the parched earth; There was in him no stately bearing to make us look at him, nor appearance that would attract us to him.
3 He was spurned and avoided by men, a man of suffering, accustomed to infirmity, One of those from whom men hide their faces, spurned, and we held him in no esteem.
7 Though he was harshly treated, he submitted and opened not his mouth; Like a lamb led to the slaughter or a sheep before the shearers, he was silent and opened not his mouth.
8 Oppressed and condemned, he was taken away, and who would have thought any more of his destiny? When he was cut off from the land of the living, and smitten for the sin of his people,
9 A grave was assigned him among the wicked and a burial place with evildoers, Though he had done no wrong
10 (But the LORD was pleased to crush him in infirmity.) If he gives his life as an offering for sin, he shall see his descendants in a long life, and the will of the LORD shall be accomplished through him.
11 Because of his affliction he shall see the light in fullness of days; Through his suffering, my servant shall justify many, and their guilt he shall bear.
12 Therefore I will give him his portion among the great, and he shall divide the spoils with the mighty, Because he surrendered himself to death and was counted among the wicked; And he shall take away the sins of many, and win pardon for their offenses.
Let's not get sidetracked however. Scripture is very specific about the Messiah. The scriptures,Calev, for example, says that the Messiah would be born in Bethlehem. How will tat happen in current time? The arabs control Bethlehem now. No one but Jesus could have fulfilled all the prophecies.

Zechariah 12
10 I will pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and petition; and they shall look on him whom they have thrust through, and they shall mourn for him
Genesis 1:26 (4000 B.C.): "And God said, Let us make man in our image.."
Proverbs 30:4 (700 B.C.): "Who hath ascended up into heaven or descended? Who hath gathered the wind in His fists? Who hath bound the waters in a garment? Who hath established all the ends of the Earth? What is His name, and what is His son's name, if thou canst tell?"
Psalm 2:11-12 (1000 B.C.): Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
31 The days are coming, says the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah.
32 It will not be like the covenant I made with their fathers the day I took them by the hand to lead them forth from the land of Egypt; for they broke my covenant and I had to show myself their master, says the LORD.
33 But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD. I will place my law within them, and write it upon their hearts; I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
The doctrine of the Trinity is encapsulated in Matthew 28:19, where Jesus instructs the apostles: "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."
The parallelism of the Father, the Son, and the Spirit is not unique to Matthew's Gospel, but appears elsewhere in the New Testament (e.g., 2 Cor. 13:14, Heb. 9:14),
as well as in the writings of the earliest Christians, who clearly understood them in the sense that we do today—that the Father, the Son, and the Spirit are three divine persons who are one divine being (God).
"After the foregoing instructions, baptize in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, in living [running] water..If you have neither, pour water three times on the head, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit" (Didache 7:1 [A.D. 70]).
Ignatius of Antioch (a direct disciple of John the Apostle)
"[T]o the Church at Ephesus in Asia..chosen through true suffering by the will of the Father in Jesus Christ our God"
"For our God, Jesus Christ, was conceived by Mary in accord with God's plan: of the seed of David, it is true, but also of the Holy Spirit" (ibid., 18:2).
Origen
"For we do not hold that which the heretics imagine: that some part of the being of God was converted into the Son, or that the Son was procreated by the Father from non-existent substances,
that is, from a being outside himself, so that there was a time when he [the Son] did not exist" (The Fundamental Doctrines 4:4:1 [A.D. 225]).
"No, rejecting every suggestion of corporeality, we hold that the Word and the Wisdom was begotten out of the invisible and incorporeal God, without anything corporal being acted upon . . . the expression which we employ,
however that there was never a time when he did not exist is to be taken with a certain allowance. For these very words 'when' and 'never' are terms of temporal significance, while whatever is said of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, is to be understood as transcending all time, all ages" (ibid.).
16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate to be with you always,
17 the Spirit of truth, which the world cannot accept, because it neither sees nor knows it. But you know it, because it remains with you, and will be in you.
I love your math. 1+1+1 is one not 3 but one Echad . Pagan concept. Some Christians study their Hebrew roots, but you should also study your pagan roots.Study Egyptian religion and you will see it's parallel with Christianity.
"I love your math. 1+1+1 is one not 3 but one Echad " -calev48
That's right. Three divine persons in 1 God. If you studied your own religion, you would know this, since the fulfillment of God's original covenant is Christianity. But your people would not receive the Messiah that they waited for, so now it went to the gentiles. Your people are spiritually blind, and stiff-necked. At the appointed time, The Lord Jesus will reveal himself to your people and every knee will bend.
Claiming pagan fallacy on your part is a copout. We do not have pagan roots. No one has ever proven a pagan fallacy. In order to prove one must show that one came from the other, and not just show a parallel.
Your religion was founded on certain jewish principles. But as this infant religion started to acquire pagan converts, they brought along their much older pagan concepts into the new nazarene sect.
"Your religion was founded on certain jewish principles. But as this infant religion started to acquire pagan converts, they brought along their much older pagan concepts into the new nazarene sect." -calev48
How dishonest you are. By stating it you are calling Judaism pagan as well.
This is the same mentality that gave birth to anti-Semitism.G-d promises us a messiah. Makes us, his people blind and stupid in order that the gentile be "save" whatever that means. We know nothing about our scriptures our prophets and language of course. So my question is, out of your 5000 denominations of christianity where should I run to get the facts?
The only true statement that allegedly Jesus made, since he never wrote anything himself as the prophets did was in my view the statement that he "came not to bring peace but the sword".In his name thousands of my ancestors spanish jews that refused to convert, were burn as heretics. And boy was he right!!!Please don't lecture me in prophesy or Torah most likely you rely on some byes translation to tailor your interpretation since you can't read or understand Hebrew.Messianic jews are christians.
Jesus most likely was literate because he was a jew,yet he never left not one single written record of his thoughts or teachings. This is why your religion is so fragmented and distorted.Where is the gospel according to Jesus?Your jesus statements are hearsay. All your gospels are hearsay and unless they are corroborated by a "Jesus Gospel"they hold no water in a court of law.Paul never met the man but thought he new him better than Peter.Maybe thats why they disagreed so much.
"he never left not one single written record of his thoughts or teachings." -calev48
The whole bible is about Jesus..and here I thought you actually knew something about your own culture and the times. Most of judaism was passed down from generation to generation through tradition and word of mouth. Jesus taught in the Jewish temples. many people were witnesses of this and recorded it.
Prophets left written records of their messages for the world. This Jesus left absolutely NOTHING!!!!!!!! you know nothing of the Oral Torah,Mishna Talmud so lets not go there.
Because David, Moses, and the others were prophets. Jesus is the messiah. The whole OlD and the NEW testamants are ABOUT him. His disciples wrote it down. Jesus taught in the temple.
"you know nothing of the Oral Torah,Mishna Talmud so lets not go there." -calev48
yes let's go there. Jesus taught in the temple. His oral tradition was passed down.
Jesus didnt write a Gospel because he didnt choose to do so. As it is not recorded why he chose not to do so, all we can do is speculate upon his reasons.
Throughout the Gospels we see Jesus forming his apostles and disciples to be witnesses to him. To his disciples Jesus said, "He who hears you hears me, and he who rejects you rejects me, and he who rejects me rejects him who sent me" (Luke 10:16).
To the Father in his high priestly prayer, Jesus prayed: "Now they know that everything that thou hast given me is from thee; for I have given them the words which thou gavest me, and they have received them and know in truth that I came from thee; and they have believed that thou didst send me" (John 17:78).
Jesus showed a marked preference for working through those he entrusted to carry forth his mission to the world. It is in keeping with such a view that Jesus would choose to have others write of him rather than leaving us his own written record.
The Jews that have converted to christianity had only a very superficial understanding of the Jewish Moshiach. The word Messianic Jews is a oxymoron.Jews that convert to Islam are Muslims and Jews that convert to Buddhism are Buddhist.
"The Jews that have converted to christianity had only a very superficial understanding of the Jewish Moshiach." -calev48
I disagree. They understand correctly that Jesus of Nazareth, whom they call Yeshua, is both the resurrected Jewish Messiah and their Divine Savior. He is the Anointed King of God in the Davidic line.
"Jews that convert to Islam are Muslims and Jews that convert to Buddhism are Buddhist." calve48
I guess that makes you redundant as a Jew for Judaism.
No not redundant but logical if your definition of Judaism is correct.Which I doubt. Religious Jews are messianic since we await the Messianic Age .That day when the lamb will lay down with the lion, wars will end and we wouldn't be here disputing who is right.
The Jehovah's Witnesses publish their own translation of the Bible—the so-called New World Translation (NWT)—which was produced by committee, but the names of the committee members have not been revealed by the WTS. This version is used routinely—but not exclusively—in their publications. It should be noted that JWs will use other Bible translations, but only when it suits their purposes to do so.
The NWT is universally rejected by non-Witnesses, including secular Greek and Hebrew scholars. These scholars, and informed critics of the Watchtower, speculate that few of the members who served on the committee were experienced as translators or even knew the rudiments of Hebrew or Greek- the NWT appears to be little more than a modification of already-existing English versions. It was by means of two former Witnesses,
Bill Cetnar (who worked in the Brooklyn headquarters) and Raymond Franz (a former member of the WTS's Governing Body) that the identity of the committee members became known and therefore that the scholars' suspicions were confirmed. According to Cetnar and Franz, only one member of the committee (Frederick Franz, fourth WTS president and Raymond Franz's uncle) studied biblical languages at all, and he studied non-biblical Greek for only two years.
Also, with the exception of some personal testimony stories, readers of both magazines will fail to find the names of people who authored the various articles contained in them. The WTS does this partly because it supresses individuality within the organization and partly because it prevents the reader from examining an author's requisite credentials to teach on the given subject matter.
Jesus' disciples were fisherman not College graduates...Besides what does God say about those that think they are wise? We are united in our worldwide brotherhood...don't be jealous...come join us!
The proof is in the pudding not on the committee. part 1
In 1910 Russell wrote, "If anyone lays the Scripture Studies [short for a 7-volume WTS publication entitled Studies in the Scriptures, hereafter abbreviated as Studies] aside, even after he has used them, after he has become familiar with them, after he has read them for ten years—if he lays them aside and ignores them and goes to the Bible alone, though he has understood the Bible for ten years,
The proof is in the pudding not on the committee. part 2
our experience shows that within two years he goes into darkness. On the other hand, if he had merely read the Scripture Studies with their references and had not read a page of the Bible, as such, he will be in the light at the end of two years.." (WT Reprints, 9-15-1910, 4685). The WTS maintains that it is God's reliable mouthpiece to the nations, and it claims to be God's inspired prophet (WT, 4-1-1972, 197)
Lies lies lies...The wbts has never claimed to be an inspired prophet. I don't mind defending the truth...but I will not waste my time defending your lies.
The new world translation has been hailed as one of the most accurate. What?...do you think Men were more savy during King James day? Please...they were just like they are today...and the King James Version ppushes the false trinity dogma.
"and the King James Version ppushes the false trinity dogma. "
All christianity and all other english translations besides NWT agree on the trinity. NWT is an illegitimate translation to push your own heretical beliefs.
Impossible...the trinity is not taught in the bible...sorry...but someone has to motivate you to investigate. The trinity dogma was not invented until years after Jesus died...but satan keeps you from seeing.
First of all answer my question...Who is the God of Abraham, Jacob, Isaac, Joshua, Ruth, Ezra, Elijah, Samuel, Sampson, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Isaiah, Daniel, Jonah, Hosea, Zephaniah, King David, John the baptist, and Jesus Christ?

Sefa1984, unless you believe that Yashua is Ha Maschiah, the Messiah, you will die in your sins, for there is no other name by which we may be saved (YASHUA). He was without sin. Only God is sinless, "for all have sinned and fallen short of the kingdom of God. Me, you, All except Yashua because He was without sin hence Yahshua is God and will return in the heavens in all His glory and destroy the evil antimessiah (allah the devil's lie. Who is the liar, he who denies that Yahshua is the Christ.
In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was GOD. Yahshua is the Word. He said "Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word. You are of your father the devil. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth - there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources for he is a liar and the father of it." So allah is antichrist liar. What, do you want to chop off my head for truth? OK.
Yeshua Ha Mashiach! Jesus is the Messiah. He is God, the one who created all things and only one without sin. He is the Great I Am and He died for our sins! Yeshua is Y'hovah, Yahweh, Jesus, My Lord and Saviour, one and the same! Amen! Maranatha!

john 5:37 And the Father who sent me has himself borne witness about me. His voice you have never heard, his form you have never seen. so Who spoke to moses? or who was that God who spoke and was seen in the old testemanet? Jesus? but in his initial form before being a human?
"TRUTH IN TRANSLATION: ACCURACY AND BIAS IN ENGLISH TRANSLATIONS OF THE NEW TESTAMENT"
Author: Jason David BeDuhn is the Associate Professor of Religious Studies at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. He holds a B.A. in Religious Studies from the University of Illinois, Urbana, an M.T.S. in New Testament and Christian Origins form Harvard Divinity School, and a Ph.D. in Comparative Study of Religions form Indiana University, Bloomington.
"No one listening to Jesus, and no one reading John in his own time would have picked up on a divine self-identification in the mere expression "I am," which, if you think about, is just about the most common pronoun-verb combination in any language." "The NW... understands the relation between the two verbs correctly... The average Bible reader might never guess that there was something wrong with the other translations, and might even assume that the error was to be found in the... NW."
Christ's divinity is shown over and over again in the New Testament. For example, in John 5:18 we are told that Jesus' opponents sought to kill him because he "called God his Father, making himself equal with God."
In John 8:58, when quizzed about how he has special knowledge of Abraham, Jesus replies, "Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I Am"—invoking and applying to himself the personal name of God—"I Am" (Ex. 3:14).
His audience understood exactly what he was claiming about himself. "So they took up stones to throw at him; but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple" (John 8:59).
In John 20:28, Thomas falls at Jesus' feet, exclaiming, "My Lord and my God!" (Greek: Ho Kurios mou kai ho Theos mou—literally, "The Lord of me and the God of me!")
In Philippians 2:6, Paul tells us that Christ Jesus "[w]ho, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped" (New International Version). So Jesus chose to be born in humble, human form though he could have simply remained in equal glory with the Father for he was "in very nature God."
Also significant are passages that apply the title "the First and the Last" to Jesus. This is one of the Old Testament titles of Yahweh:
"Thus says Yahweh, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, Yahweh of armies: 'I am the First and I am the Last; besides me there is no god'" (Is. 44:6; cf. 41:4, 48:12).
This title is directly applied to Jesus three times in the book of Revelation: "When I saw him [Christ], I fell at his feet as though dead. But he laid his right hand upon me, saying, 'Fear not, I am the First and the Last'" (Rev. 1:17).
"And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write: 'The words of the First and the Last, who died and came to life'" (Rev. 2:8). "Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense, to repay every one for what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the beginning and the end" (Rev. 22:12--13).
This last quote is especially significant since it applies to Jesus the parallel title "the Alpha and the Omega," which Revelation earlier applied to the Lord God: "'I am the Alpha and the Omega,' says the Lord God, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty" (Rev. 1:8).
Jesus is the firstborn of all creation...the only begotten Son of YHWH and the begining of the creation of God.
I ask again...Who is the God of Noah, Moses, Jacob, Joshua, Ruth, Elijah, Samuel, Esther, Sampson, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Isaiah, Micah, John the Baptist and Jesus Christ?
....And what did Jesus say?...did he say...Are you going to stone me because I claim to be GOD?....Is that what he said....No it is not.....What exactly did he say?
What the Pharisees THOUGHT Jesus was implying is of no relevence....obviously they were not very spiritually minded people to begin with, otherwise they would have accepted Jesus as the Messiah.
"I" and "Am" are probalby the two most often used words in any language. No One believed that Jesus was making himself God by that statement. This is just your KING JAMES trying to force the trinity doctrine.
"What the Pharisees THOUGHT Jesus was implying is of no relevence" -jakev25
Of course it is of relevance, They spoke the language, and they lived in those times! I know you think that perhaps they needed the watch tower to guide them, and they needed you to translate- but this is not true.
You are still ignoring my cross references where God Identified himself as I AM.
14 God replied, "I am who am." Then he added, "This is what you shall tell the Israelites- I AM sent me to you"
15 God spoke further to Moses, "Thus shall you say to the Israelites-The LORD, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. "This is my name forever
I am who am: apparently this utterance is the source of the word Yahweh, the proper personal name of the God of Israel.
"Wrong again....No one knows the exact pronunciation. Most researchers believe it was......Yehowah" --jakev25
Is "Jehovah" God's Name? Part 1
In Reasoning From the Scriptures the WTS teaches that "Jehovah" is the proper pronunciation of God's name, and so "Everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be saved" (Rom. 10:13). They continue, "Many scholars favor the spelling 'Yahweh,' but it is uncertain and there is not agreement among them.
On the other hand, 'Jehovah' is the form of the name that is most readily recognized, because it has been used in English for centuries.." (p. 195).
However, the JWs' own Aid to Bible Understanding says, "The first recorded use of this form [Jehovah] dates from the 13th century C.E. [after Christ]. Raymundus Martini, a Spanish monk of the Dominican order, used it in his book Pugeo Fidei of the year 1270.
Hebrew scholars generally favor 'Yahweh' as the most likely pronunciation" (pp. 884-885).
New Testament Greek always uses the word "Lord," and never "Jehovah," even in quotes from the Old Testament (OT). Encyclopedia Judaica, Webster's Encyclopedia, Jewish Encyclopedia, Encyclopedia Britannica,
Universal Jewish Encyclopedia and countless others agree that the title "Jehovah" is erroneous, grammatically impossible, and was never used by the Jews.
I'm curious to hear your view of the older LXX translation of the Hebrew (concerning Jer 23:5-6). It reads very different than the later masoretic text and doesn't call the Mashiyach "YVHV" as it appears to do in the Mas. text.

YOU ARE FALSE AND WRONG
angelofmercy101 3 years ago
And unbelievers dare to think that G-d is false when He destroys everyone who listens not Him but Satan.
Look at this one, how can G-d have mercy on him if he does not accept it?
Blessed are the meek, blessed are those who hear, if one hears, Yahsua/Jesus will be his/her defender.
He has given to us power over all that is evil,
nothing is more strong than G-d, Satan compared to Him is nothing.
Our defender is strong, resist the devil and he will flee from you.

4 Yet it was our infirmities that he bore, our sufferings that he endured, While we thought of him as stricken, as one smitten by God and afflicted.

6 We had all gone astray like sheep, each following his own way; But the LORD laid upon him the guilt of us all.

Jer 31
31 The days are coming, says the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah.
32 It will not be like the covenant I made with their fathers the day I took them by the hand to lead them forth from the land of Egypt; for they broke my covenant and I had to show myself their master, says the LORD.

The Trinity part 1

This is the same mentality that gave birth to anti-Semitism.G-d promises us a messiah. I am not anti-semitic. I only stated the truth. In fact, what I have stated has been documented and prophesied in your own Torah.
Every Christian denomination has the same truth- Jesus Christ is the Messiah, and The Son of God.
Not all Jews are blind. The Messianic Jews realize the truth concerning Jesus Christ.

37 "Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me;
38 and whoever does not take up his cross and follow after me is not worthy of me.
This means there will be divisions drawn up due to his message. Also, notice how he prophesies and mentions "taking up the cross".
Jesus fulfilled over 300 prophesies from the Torah.Perhaps you should look into it

The whole bible is about Jesus..and here I thought you actually knew something about your own culture and the times. Most of judaism was passed down from generation to generation through tradition and word of mouth. Jesus taught in the Jewish temples. many people were witnesses of this and recorded it.

yes let's go there. Jesus taught in the temple. His oral tradition was passed down.

Why didn't Jesus write? part 1
Jesus didnt write a Gospel because he didnt choose to do so. As it is not recorded why he chose not to do so, all we can do is speculate upon his reasons.
Throughout the Gospels we see Jesus forming his apostles and disciples to be witnesses to him. To his disciples Jesus said, "He who hears you hears me, and he who rejects you rejects me, and he who rejects me rejects him who sent me" (Luke 10:16).
ricklonghi909 3 years ago
Why didn't Jesus write? part 2
To the Father in his high priestly prayer, Jesus prayed: "Now they know that everything that thou hast given me is from thee; for I have given them the words which thou gavest me, and they have received them and know in truth that I came from thee; and they have believed that thou didst send me" (John 17:78).
ricklonghi909 3 years ago
Why didn't Jesus write? part 3
Jesus showed a marked preference for working through those he entrusted to carry forth his mission to the world. It is in keeping with such a view that Jesus would choose to have others write of him rather than leaving us his own written record.

Jehovah's Witnesses
Privacy at all costs Part 1
The Jehovah's Witnesses publish their own translation of the Bible—the so-called New World Translation (NWT)—which was produced by committee, but the names of the committee members have not been revealed by the WTS. This version is used routinely—but not exclusively—in their publications. It should be noted that JWs will use other Bible translations, but only when it suits their purposes to do so.
ricklonghi909 3 years ago
Privacy at all costs Part 2
The NWT is universally rejected by non-Witnesses, including secular Greek and Hebrew scholars. These scholars, and informed critics of the Watchtower, speculate that few of the members who served on the committee were experienced as translators or even knew the rudiments of Hebrew or Greek- the NWT appears to be little more than a modification of already-existing English versions. It was by means of two former Witnesses,

Bill Cetnar (who worked in the Brooklyn headquarters) and Raymond Franz (a former member of the WTS's Governing Body) that the identity of the committee members became known and therefore that the scholars' suspicions were confirmed. ricklonghi909 3 years ago
Privacy at all costs Part 4
Also, with the exception of some personal testimony stories, readers of both magazines will fail to find the names of people who authored the various articles contained in them. The WTS does this partly because it supresses individuality within the organization and partly because it prevents the reader from examining an author's requisite credentials to teach on the given subject matter.

Witnesses are taught to submit to the WTS, not to question its publications. Consequently, the anonymity is understandable.

our experience shows that within two years he goes into darkness. (WT Reprints, 9-15-1910, 4685). The WTS maintains that it is God's reliable mouthpiece to the nations, and it claims to be God's inspired prophet (WT, 4-1-1972, 197)

The Divinity of Christ Part 1
Christ's divinity is shown over and over again in the New Testament. For example, in John 5:18 we are told that Jesus' opponents sought to kill him because he "called God his Father, making himself equal with God."
In John 8:58, when quizzed about how he has special knowledge of Abraham, Jesus replies, "Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I Am"—invoking and applying to himself the personal name of God—"I Am" (Ex. 3:14).
ricklonghi909 3 years ago
The Divinity of Christ Part 2
His audience understood exactly what he was claiming about himself. "So they took up stones to throw at him; but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple" (John 8:59).
In John 20:28, Thomas falls at Jesus' feet, exclaiming, "My Lord and my God!" (Greek: Ho Kurios mou kai ho Theos mou—literally, "The Lord of me and the God of me!")
ricklonghi909 3 years ago
The Divinity of Christ Part 3
In Philippians 2:6, Paul tells us that Christ Jesus "[w]ho, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped" (New International Version). So Jesus chose to be born in humble, human form though he could have simply remained in equal glory with the Father for he was "in very nature God."
Also significant are passages that apply the title "the First and the Last" to Jesus. This is one of the Old Testament titles of Yahweh:
ricklonghi909 3 years ago
The Divinity of Christ Part 4
"Thus says Yahweh, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, Yahweh of armies: 'I am the First and I am the Last; besides me there is no god'" (Is. 44:6; cf. 41:4, 48:12).
This title is directly applied to Jesus three times in the book of Revelation: "When I saw him [Christ], I fell at his feet as though dead. But he laid his right hand upon me, saying, 'Fear not, I am the First and the Last'" (Rev. 1:17).
ricklonghi909 3 years ago
The Divinity of Christ Part 5
"And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write: 'The words of the First and the Last, who died and came to life'" (Rev. 2:8). "Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense, to repay every one for what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the beginning and the end" (Rev. 22:12--13).
ricklonghi909 3 years ago
The Divinity of Christ Part 6
This last quote is especially significant since it applies to Jesus the parallel title "the Alpha and the Omega," which Revelation earlier applied to the Lord God: "'I am the Alpha and the Omega,' says the Lord God, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty" (Rev. 1:8).

Universal Jewish Encyclopedia and countless others agree that the title "Jehovah" is erroneous, grammatically impossible, and was never used by the Jews.
