Wow. The bride in this is SO radiant--what a joy to see...love at its finest, as God created it to be. The discussion in the comments is not to be missed, as well. Brothers and sisters in Christ, take note and be exhorted to love others in the body as He has loved us, as the world is watching. I would encourage anyone who has been deeply hurt , disappointed and disallusioned by Christians (and haven't we all?) to look at Christ alone, and remember that Christians aren't perfect; just forgiven.
So, what keeps you from being a christian? I'm glad to hear that you enjoy his songs, I'm just wondering, what is it about christianity that you may have some disagreements with?
Hypocrisy. That is the #1 issue I have. I grew up in church, attended until I was 23. I saw the "Leaders" of my church absolutely destroy one of their own, instead of helping him when he was down. He was accused of some horrible things, and was eventually found innocent. They did absolutely nothing in the way of apologizing to him. He wound up committing suicide 6 months later. They still did nothing for his 3 children or wife. I have given up on religion completely.
On behalf of those leaders, I want to say sorry. Whatever anger your feeling, you have the right to feel that. Don't ignore it. What happened here was wrong, and there should be anger towards injustice. I hope that one day, you would forgive them, and even, pray for them. How is his family doing since this tragic incident? When did it happened? Have you kept in touch with them? And thank you for being honest.
It happened about 5 years ago. His family is doing good now, but it was obviously rough initially. I am a teacher and his daughter is in one of my classes and his oldest was in my class a couple of years ago. I see his wife pretty frequently and we often get into long conversations. They have found some comfort in another church. I just wish I could have their faith and capacity for forgiveness. I have no problem being honest. I am a very open person about what I think and why I think it.
I've been hurt too many times by people claiming to be Christian. More than just what was mentioned above. That was just 'the straw that broke the camel's back' so to speak. There is only so much a heart can take before it shuts down, and with that occurring my heart and capacity to forgive to wrongdoers evaporated.
Have you ever read the book "What's so amazing about grace?" by Philip Yancey? It totally changed my view on what forgiveness is, and how God extends that to us in order that we would be able to forgive others too. I'd recommend taking a stab at it, if your willing.
I think I may have heard of it, but never read it. I may check it out, if not for me now, for future reference. I am always looking to find ways to understand what forgiveness is, and how to truly forgive.
That is so good! Just you saying that shows you are on that path of forgiveness, I am excited for you! Where are you from? I'm from NYC, I have facebook if you want more info. Just type in my name from the above, and you'll see me.

What album is this song from? Or is a single release. I just looked at all 3 albums that I have and none contain this song.

Oh, it's from his first album, "Ten Thousand Days" with other hits like "I'm alright"

I honestly don't think I have heard a Bebo Norman song that I haven't liked. And I'm not even Christian.
