Looking at this, I just realized another difference between the classes. For Rose going down, to third class, even though it had been a little awkward, and silent, they did stare at Rose talking to Jack for a moment but went back to what they were doing. Being polite. If Jack had gone to Rose while she was dining or doing something in first class, the people would really stare at them and might have made a scene. Not being polite.

I understand why James Cameron took the other deleted scenes out of the movie, but this scene should have stayed in! It shows the stark contrast between 1st Class girl Rose and the 3rd Class lounge area. Everyone looking at Rose, all beautiful and elegant, as she walks through a less than glamourous background. I think this scene conveys much of the fact that the two main characters were from very different backgrounds.

But, going back now and whenever I rewatch the film its always these parts that make me saddest--where you see a character you know is going to die (like that mom and her 2 kids in the stairwell). And I believe the Helga lady was the one at the end who let go and fell, but correct me if I'm wrong.

I can't wait for it to be remade in 2012, I wish they would put these deleted scenes back in, it would make it much better (sadder).

This is an amazing scene, it shows just how angelic looking Rose looks, and how out of place she must have felt, and in the movie it seems like Jack was always out of his comfort zone. It also shows how youthful Jack is when she asks to speak in private and he says, "Yes, of course", compared to the somewhat burdened and older speaking Rose.
